  1. I also saw that Spurs were sticking rigidly to two banks of four v. Chelsea, the same 4-4-2 formula that Mourinho, and Rafa, swear by and which has given them both major success. I would've imagined that Jose approached this job with caution. He said he was determined "not to make the same mistakes" and he may have said to them to go out, express yourselves and play with freedom in his first couple of games, being careful not to impose his massive ego. But leopards don't change their stripes and he couldn't help but revert to the formula which he's tried and tested many times before. If that's the sequence of events, the effect it's had on a not-worldbeating squad hasn't worked, or at least it led to a shockingly poor performance on Sunday, after getting very lucky v. Wolves. How boring and uninspiring might it be for the attacking-minded footballers - and their fans erroneously think they're better than they are and should play "the Spurs way" - if the whole tactical focus is on rigid defensive formations? It will all come out in the wash but surprisingly abject performances recently should be a worry for them. Not that I give a fuck. Never liked Spurs but it's been very interesting on Mourinho-watch this first month. 3-0 v. Brighton on Boxing Day would be getting back on track but I wouldn't be putting money on them any time soon, especially after they cost me badly a couple of days ago. Fucking cunts.
  2. Five games later and I'm not so sure. There was a definite new manager bounce effect for Mourinho but there's a reason why Poch got binned. Maybe this squad is gutless and not that brilliant at football, the making of the CL final being an overachievement way beyond their usual capabilities. I've always considered Kane and Delle Ali to be overrated. Not that anyone could ever be as good as the jingoistic English press hoped they could be in their desperation to win the World Cup one day, hopefully not in my lifetime but Delle Ali was awesome in his first few games. Playing Moura all the time is strange. Yes he was lucky and was a big part of them getting to the CL final but there will have been reasons why Poch used him sparingly and he's really been conspicuous by his lack of contribution under Jose, or at least lack of consistent contributions as he's been absent for most of the time he's been on the pitch. Christian Eriksson has yet to start and whilst there's no denying his great talent, fuck knows what his agent is saying and what he's doing in training is obviously not impressing his new boss. Defensively they are still conceding too much but the Chelsea game was revealing. Spurs were sluggish from the off and Lampard's men were very sharp and hungry. Mourinho has a massive challenge ahead of him. There were sparks and suggestions that the special one was back. The squad is worse than we thought so he will need to buy cleverly in January. If Levi doesn't give him that luxury, it can't possibly work. There's a cancerous curse over this lot.
  3. There is but trying to put a finger on it would be an instructive exercise. His pigeon-fancying, normally the preserve of old mannies, was unusual. As was that marvellous gesture with the handicapped at the weekend, spreading joy on a gargantuan scale. His hug with the ballboy was another we don't normally see. The man obviously has a heart of gold, the yin to his headbutting yang, as I reckon he could be a dark force if you crossed him. Not the brightest but street smart, a complex character. Yes very odd indeed. To understand him would need to know his background. I like him though and always have done. Interesting and raw passion are always to be found on the positive side of the spectrum.
  4. Players get booked for diving, "simulation" when trying to cheat to get a penalty. The game would be improved if players get booked for feigning injury, "simulation" when trying to cheat to get an opponent into trouble. If this were to be enforced in the VAR matches, the incidence of feigning injury would reduce in the lower leagues. There's always going to be grey areas and close calls but even the threat of "clear and obvious" simulating (injury) is going to have a dramatic positive effect.
  5. I'm still not convinced that it was a red for two reasons; Cosgrove clearly slid in front of Ajer, targeting the ball (which he got) and not the man. Ajer cheated by feigning injury after the most minimal contact with Sam's trailing leg.
  6. That's coincidental. Aberdeen fans start discussing AFC and our most recent game and the A96 fiddled-as-a-kiddie fucks off. Without ever commenting on the game? One has to wonder who he is and what agenda he's on? The wos hate Aberdeen. I understand this. But I hate cunts trying to infiltrate us more. The boy may well have a genuine grievance with me. I'm used to that. But on an AFC forum, I won't listen to plants and stooges. Fuck that weirdo.
  7. Didn't see any of the game either cos I was working until 9 pm but interesting to hear those comments just now about Ajer. Like Eric Dier today and whoever the fuck Son lashed out at but never touched, these cunts these days are so keen to feign injury. It's sick as fuck. Disappointed in Joe Lewis. That was a golden opportunity and a free shot to hit Leigh Griffiths so hard that he could've put his lights out, exactly as he deserved. I guess violence isn't welcome in the modern era. Nanny state shite.
  8. Watching the highlights just now, just a mad red card. Mad because Sam got the ball and therefore it wasn't even a foul. Mad because as McInnes said in his interview, there was no need for him to be attacking it at that speed. Embarrassing performance. 2-1 was a great result. It flattered us.
  9. Thank you. I'm sure you'll be able to prove my error in the days ahead, when you engage as AFC fans do, rather than trying to focus on individual character assassination, and failing. Even if I had changed my opinion on our manager from five or six years ago, which I didn't, it's really not the issue. I've never liked the "Rangers man" (as Stewrat called him) and yet you come on here (being noticed for the first time) to support our soon-to-be-dead manager by trying to selectively quote his biggest critic. Tell us a bit about yourself A96? Who the fuck are you?
  10. Or, as we've seen before and we'll see again, you'll not engage at all. Perhaps your whole agenda is to discredit dissenters? Who's paying you? Time's up pal. The new regime won't put up with shit like McInnes. He'll be gone soon. And cunts like you won't be missed because your raison d'etre has already expired.
  11. I don't agree that he's done a good job, unlike you, Milne, Kris Boyd and Neil Lennon. And the whole of the wos media. And if you were a genuine Aberdeen fan who had posted over time, we would know that a) you're a genuine Aberdeen fan, and b) what your opinions were on the bigger issues. Time will reveal if he's been good or bad for AFC. For me, enough time has already passed to make that conclusion without controversy. Some genuine Aberdeen fans don't agree with that. You come out of left field to support McInnes, as is your right. Welcome to a forum for genuine Aberdeen fans. We look forward to hearing your views in the future.
  12. It's almost 2020. We've had SEVEN seasons of this cunt. And still there are spastics like you who think he's "good for AFC". And you will do anything to take the party line, to justify the gross mismanagement that's been going on. I've already said that you're the majority and I'm the minority. Get over it. Time is the great revealer. You haven't ever posted enough to be noticed or listened to. If you're a genuine Aberdeen fan, try joining in and communicating.
  13. Ah, the apples I'm supposed to like. The words I wrote on the back of a good day. You conveniently ignored my posts before and after. You love McInnes. I detest him. Time will show whether you were wrong or whether I was right. In the meantime, try some love. It won't save you from your Huntly upbringing but it might introduce you to the lighter side.
  14. That's good, that you can use the English language to communicate. A bullshitter though? Are you saying that I was once a McInnes fan? Do you dispute my account? Or now that you've finally revealed your position (as a McInnes fan), is it this that prompts you to take a few words from the many tens of thousands that I've written to try to argue that I spik shite? Not that I argue that I don't spik shite from time to time. Most of us do. I thought his interview was "good" because it was the most revealing we had ever seen him, in more than 25 years of his sucking our blood dry. I didn't say he was good. I already said I hated the cunt. You and I will never agree. That's ok, as I already said. But your disingenuous nature of trying to twist my words from more than half a decade ago to try and make yourself look smart and attempting to make me out as a hypocrite on one hand or trying to suggest I'm schizophrenic in my views on material matters pertaining to the club I've loved over six decades, that's not ok. So as I said before, go fuck yourself.
  15. A96. A horrible road because it leads to Huntly, a place that breeds kiddy fiddling whack jobs. I've no idea who you are because you've never posted enough to get noticed. But you've obviously got a major problem with me, without ever having the balls to engage directly on the points I've been making in twenty years of posting on AFC forums. If I insulted you over this period, I don't apologise for that. You would've posted shit worthy of condemnation. Yo, you've finally been noticed ?? But seriously, get a fucking life. Your attempts to selectively take a few words out of context to try and make a point that doesn't stand is as tragic to witness as it is to be inside your head. Your "since you asked nicely" was revealing. You're desperate for control and the higher ground. Just be honest. What are you made of? Show your true self. I'm already getting a sense of your sad agenda.
  16. What is your problem? You have been very selective in your choice of quotes. You are totally ignoring the rest of my posts. What's your point? Do you think McInnes is good for AFC? Are you as retarded as Milne and the cunts singing his name at Hampden?
  17. I don't know what's going wrong in your life but I can assure you that's it's not my fault. Please produce links.
  18. Since you've spent an extraordinary amount of time on this, you are due a courtesy of a response. And I'm sure you'll agree that people do change their minds and they are permitted to do this. That's NOT what's happening here though. I have never warmed to McInnes from day one. Exactly like I have never warmed to any AFC manager for a period approaching 30 years, the ones that Milne recruited being a particularly terrible bunch. We want to like and respect the management team. The last time I did was the Smiffy Jocky combo because in my opinion, that team played the best football I've ever seen at Pittodrie, including the early 80's under Fergie, Jim Bett being at his peak and pulling the strings. Unfortunately at 2.55 pm at Ibrox in May 91 when the teams got read out and the 3,200 of us who were there looked at each other with incredulity, disgust and disbelief, that's when the respect for Smiffy dissipated. He fucked up big time. Can you imagine how hard it is going each week and spending money on a losing cause, something I have refused to do in 2019, exactly like I did for the calendar year 2007? Even an average or a poor manager is going to have a good day every so often and when you feel guilty for hating the cunt when everyone around you is loving him, of course you're going to give praise when it's due. I WANTED him to succeed and according to the majority of you at Hampden last year, he IS succeeding because you all chanted his name, unbelievably in my opinion after the final where we were fucking shite. Stewart Milne gave a very good interview this week, broadcast on Radio Scotland yesterday at about 2.30 ish as I was driving down the road. I can't stand that cunt either but in between some common sense and some other good stuff he was saying about the future of Scottish fitba, he was fulsome in his praise for Derek McInnes. It's ok to disagree in this world. Unlike the majority of you, including our former chairman who threw the chequebook at him and including Lennon who said yesterday that "Aberdeen have a very good manager", I never saw McInnes succeeding at AFC. Time will tell if I was right and if you, the majority, were wrong to sing his name or if he does win a Scottish Cup or the SPFL, I will be delighted to say that I got it wrong about him. But context and perspective eh? If you read all of my posts - and until you show me mine where I have allegedly gushed over him, I don't believe it - you will know that I have never been a fan. Surely it's ok to celebrate a good result though and much as I wanted to like McInnes, I never could. You should get out more mate.
  19. Would it not be easier if you posted the links? I mean you've invested 5 or 6 hours of your life on this?
  20. Who was it? You're asking me now? You were telling me before? Those were not my words.
  21. Fair enough with the facts and the data will show the true picture but I reckon that a red card per footballer would happen once every 200+ games on average, maybe more. That's a total guess but where some never see red, we have the likes of Ferguson, Logan and Cosgrove who get sent off way more than the average, Sam and Lewis being symptoms of their highly aggressive style of play, Shay mostly because he mistimes a lot and has brain farts, although I like his aggression too. I think the Rangers game showed that Cosgrove is always capable of playing at the edge of what is legal and what is not. I've not seen the tackle yet and from what I'm reading it was a very bad decision but refs do get influenced by previous and I think Sam doesn't do himself any favours when he commits the needless fouls. He jumps in too much for me.
  22. Yes he is. I remember his debut. I loved how he raked into Scott Brown after barely 5 minutes on the pitch but it was stupid, and meaningless in the overall scheme of that game (if I remember correctly). At least he was showing heart and determination and a bit of cunt about him, qualities sorely lacking in the vast majority. The most recent Rangers game was a joke. He was screaming to be cautioned and sent off. He's not the brightest, I suspect but one of his former neighbours was my son and he would disagree as he thinks Sam is ace. He should be a simple fix for an intelligent manager. We love your passion and your determination to do well but for fuck sake, stop running about like a headless chicken and begging for red cards. Your red card rate ridiculous, fully 3, 4, 5 (or however many) times the average in this league although a half or a third of Morelos, who's just a cunt.
  23. There is no Scottish Independence thread that I can see, certainly not active in the last 2+ weeks. If you're not just making shit up and spouting shite again and you really had been excluded from that forum, there will have been good reasons for it. I could understand these reasons.
  24. Whether it's 14/1, 5/1 or 33/1, it's probably not going to matter as it isn't going to happen. Although there is one omen that might help... I got Celtic at 1/3 last weekend for today's game (1/5 now). The only other time I backed against AFC this season, Rangers managed to blow a 2 goal lead to cost me a fortune, or more accurately, cost my pile of bookies money to reduce by a third. Inter Milan went out from 1/3 last weekend to 9/20 for today's game and Livi came in from evens to 3/5, given that Ross County have been hit with a bug and tried to get the game postponed (apparently, so I've been told). It pays to look out for good value in the early odds that the bookies set. I'm thinking 1/3 for the home win at Parkhead is very good value but I won't lose sleep if it fails. Double chance is a bet I've never done before and this weekend is the first time I've ever gone with the draw no bet option, one of my betting partners using that for Scunthorpe today so I went DNB for Spurs tomorrow for our double. It would need to be 50/1 or more to tempt my punt on an away win for AFC today. Celtic have to win after last night.
  25. "The tories won the election because they are proficient liars, and the media didn’t challenge them. Labour lost the election because they are ineffective truth tellers, and the media challenged, smeared and totally misrepresented them". "If you are not angry, you are not paying attention". These two quotes - one new, one older - appeal to me. The internet can truly be a wonderful thing. Given the "media monopoly" or the "media consistency", the fact that the vast majority of the output consumed by the vast majority of citizens (particularly in the news and current affairs feeds) derives from the same state agenda, the internet may be the only source of truth available to anyone interested in finding it. In the UK, I find Channel 4 News to be the least offensive in terms of reporting and they have occasionally exposed stuff that other media wouldn't dare but as an optimist, I'm wondering if the depth has now been reached and that the tide may be about to change? As newspapers are invisible to me, I'm talking about coonsil telly here. With ITV broadcasting Pilger's superb documentary two nights ago (albeit under Ofcom's disgusting conditions) and Channel 4's The Cure last night, might this signal more truth being made more widely available to the masses? The optimist within me certainly hopes so. Politics can only work effectively when "false propaganda" (lies) fails to win the day. It is my impression that greater numbers of people are becoming more aware but there is still a mountain to climb and we are at the very bottom of it. The BBC, ITV and Sky News channels love to get citizens to give their political opinions in street interviews during elections and the type of people they select are always of a particular demographic, knowing full well that their ability to influence others who are similarly incapable of coherent thoughts fits their purpose. It's also self-validation, a twisted celebration of the fruits of their labours as the masses regurgitate the same sentiments that the media planted there. It's all been shite for a very long time. I have faith that it can only get better. Education doesn't need to be onerous. The instruments of it are freely available (at present) and Corbyn wanted to enshrine that with free broadband. Edit: I forgot to mention the role of film. Ken Loach continues to produce superb output but won't be widely seen by the deltas and the epsilons*. Not enough "action" as he doesn't favour high speed car chases, spectacular crashes, lots of blood and mass killings. With mandatory special effects of course. BBC and ITV should support our best film makers and support truth. * I know that my terminology is offensive (to the heart) although some will recognise my reference to the late great Aldous Huxley. There were coal miners and factory workers who were supremely gifted artists and musicians. The "masses" by definition fails to recognise the individuality of each and every one of us but as the likes of the media and political strategists well know, you have to deal with and target "classes" of people when delivering effective propaganda. Truth tellers similarly need to be ruthless.
