People representing an MP or MSP chapped my door today. I didn't catch the name but I asked what party. She said Conservative. I wasn't rude, she'd already said they weren't "campaigning" (so what the fuck were they doing) but I hope that my "no sorry, I'm violently opposed to anything Tory" before I shut the door took away a bit of her sunshine from this glorious NE day.

I think it was Salmond who first used "once in a lifetime opportunity" (for independence) and when he fucked that up, his opponents jumped on this and the "once in a generation" phrase was born. The political landscape may have changed but the people haven't. Scots are still stupid and feart of change. What also hasn't changed is that a successful campaign needs a clear vision and a convincing case to be made. There were so many unanswered questions last time - including the basics such as currency - that until the SNP spell out a bigger and better case, Indyref 2 would fail again (if held so soon).

^ This man sees what I used to look at.

I wasn't there, didn't see it nor did I listen to any commentary but in the short time I was in the car, Willie Miller was amazed at how well Aberdeen were playing and as he waxing lyrically, the third went in and I look forward to seeing the highlights because that's the most enthusiasm he's ever had in his life. It was an absolute belter* apparently. Richard Gordon was being cautious at this point but Willie pointed out that it's in the bag as Motherwell were shite and "had no route to goal". Stephen Thomson also said on the telly that "Motherwell were poor" and everyone was of opinion that you couldn't see this (result) coming. To be fair to McInnes, he has pulled some rabbits over the years, totally unexpected great results following consistently shite performances. * I refuse to use "worldy", the favoured term of the guffy alcoholic known as Merse. It's a very English saying.

What the SNP ignore is that 40% of us voted to leave the EU. It suits their agenda to keep on repeating Scotland voted to stay in and it's a good political lever but you're right about stupid cunts. Indyref and the last GE proved this beyond all reasonable doubt.
-
But the government need to allow us a further referendum, the "once in a generation" opportunity that we blew already. So who are the government going to be and why are they going to grant their permission? I don't see the "certainty" you speak of.
-
I have no idea really. Do you have an opinion on this? What should have happened a long time ago is that our MP's should have delivered the will of the people. We didn't vote on a deal. We voted to get the fuck away from the EU. What I think will happen is that Parliament will vote tomorrow to reject the deal. That would mean an extension and yet more guff and nonsense. It's a shambles. Cameron never thought the people would vote leave. Emboldened by his ability to convince the Scots to stay, he thought the whole of England would do what he told them to and remain.

There's always tears There's always gonna be tears There's always gonna be Sha sha sha, sha sha sha Sha sha sha, sha sha sha Under the lamplight's faded career Two men at a rickshaw pumping up a tyre Tire and tire and tire and tire Tire and tire and tire and tire Some of you who know the excellent Fontaines DC will recognise these lyrics. It's going to end in tears for McInnes and Docherty. Personally I think they've stopped pumping and after seven years have tired of pretending.

Fact: McInnes in his interview lamented the fact that the transfer window wasn't open. He said if it was the 1st January I would go out and buy a couple of players but it's not and we have to get on with it and deal with the "sit-ye-ay-shun". Fact: people say things for a reason or reasons. Speculation: why did he say that? One interpretation is that he said it because he doesn't think that what he's got left in the squad beyond the injured list is good enough. If this is the case, this is tantamount to making excuses in advance of an event that he anticipates will go wrong. Given that it's his job to recruit, train and prepare a squad to achieve its objectives, he's either failing to do that this week because he's been so unlucky with injuries and suspensions or he's suggesting that he's not been given the adequate tools (budget) to do his job. Another reason why a manager would appear to make excuses is that he is subliminally firing up and inspiring the footballers who do come in - including any youth or debutants that he's forced to play - to show the gaffer that they are good enough and that they will give "a hundred and ten per cent" on Saturday. Fact: good and competent managers have a self-assuredness born from self-confidence and knowledge that they're good at their work and that their work is good enough to achieve their goals. Speculation: does this manager know what he's doing and will he deliver results? Given the fact that he rarely smiles and looks like a man under pressure who isn't having fun, I'm certain he doesn't have the intellect to engage the subliminal psychological tools required to fire up rookies or the less experienced. I've always hated liars and cheats and fraudsters and charlatans. McInnes tries to talk in a tone that suggests he knows what he's doing but the results he delivers suggests otherwise.

Potentially valid? McInnes hater? EVERY genuine Aberdeen FC fan despises McInnes. Because he's a useless charlatan cunt who should not be here. I actually hate the cunts singing his name more than I hate him. And by fuck I hate him.

It's all down to our "democratically-elected" MP's now, following the sickening charade Boris and Juncker put on. It ain't gonna happen. Message to the bankers; you shouldn't gamble in speculative punts with other people's money. Message to the bureaucrats; get yersel a decent job. Message to the people; wake the fuck up you fucking thick cunts.
-
Ooooh you can't say that! They were singing for Derek McInnes at Hampden twice within the last year, at the semi v. Newcofuckheads and after the embarrassingly abject defeat in the final. The 1-0 steal was the best bounce as an Aberdeen supporter since 1990 but I was almost physically sick when they started chanting the bearded midget's name. After the final however, I was incredulous. We have cunts within the ranks of AFC that don't deserve anything better than torture and execution.

Barnier, Juncker and Tusk have faces that offend grossly. It is said that a man's life is seen in his face. They have perfected weaseldom in their appearances, unsurprisingly.

First visit to Cafe 100 today in Holburn Street. Tremendous. An inexpensive place that sells all day breakfasts and paninis, soup etc. Their Columbian coffee is excellent but it's their service that is first class. Polite and they care e.g. "it won't be long" even though I wasn't in a hurry and I hadn't ordered more than 5 minutes before! You can tell it's independently owned and run. I was in between breakfast and lunch (at 1 p.m.) so got the "speedy grill", sausages, egg, beans and chips for £5.99. Hit the spot. Will be back soon.

He's a wanker. Literally. He admits to wanking off an Indian male cementer on one of his jolly oil trips. They were two men and two women in the bed at the time. Rocket the Nelliephant never forgets. Insensitive too as his modus operandi is to deliberately offend. Always has been. I used to find that amusing but after a while, the sickness he displays gets too ugly to view.

The main reason why the majority of fans can't see what's happening is because they have no experience of business and specifically have never been at, or close enough to, the top of it to understand how it works. When we try to tell them (the truth, whether in politics or business), they can't or won't believe it.
-
The same as it's been for the whole of almost thirty years since he wormed his way into AFC, the hapless Ian Donald not having the nous to see it coming. The same as it's been for his whole life. The same as it is for the vast majority of politicians and business owners. Their agendas and priorities are the betterment of them personally. Any "love" he purports to have for football and AFC is feigned, a total sham.
-
Let's face it, third has zero chance of happening. Neither are Aberdeen going to win a cup. "Success" this season will be avoiding relegation. It therefore doesn't matter if AFC continue this bad run of form or even get worse in the weeks ahead. The ONLY thing that matters now is preparing for the future. That future will never be bright whilst McInnes is in charge of the "product" and we continue to allow the minority-shareholding chairman to continue pursuing his own agenda.
-
Brilliant speech by Sturgeon in Aberdeen right now. Scotland MUST be independent. Shame on the North East for voting against it AND returning a record number of Tories. The difference between us and them is planetary.
-
Ok, you reckon he's a good coach. I don't know either way as I've not seen him in action. He is the manager however. Good coaching is one of the manager's responsibilities of course, one which they get assistance for from their hand-picked specialists. So the bigger question would be; do you consider McInnes to be a good manager?
-
What system does McInnes play? And what system do Sevco play? Isn't the whole point to provide "plenty of chances in the box"?
-
Are you therefore saying that McInnes (and his team) are good coaches? And do you consider Cosgrove a good enough footballer for a successful AFC?
-
We've all heard the history about Shankland and his fitness and his attitude etc. And unless we were there, working with the lad in his formative years, we can never know. What we do know is that he's turned into a player. We also know that a good manager recognises potential and inspires young talents to work hard. That's assuming they want to work and have the requisite desire to succeed. Some develop later and only put in the effort when they realise that they have to, and some of those only realise when it's too late. At 24, there's no doubt Shankland is a late bloomer. The speculations of his history over the last 7/8 years, fuck knows.
