  1. It's great that some guys are being creative and making an effort but fuck me. I would've been ashamed and embarrassed to come out with shite like that.
  2. Dear Santa, All I ask is not to be embarrassed at Hampden on Sunday. If we get beat by a better team but we put in a shift and tried our best, that's ok. Please get McInnes to pick the best available team. If he can motivate them too, superb. I'll not ask for the trophy as that might be beyond your capabilities. As long as we don't fuck it all up by sheer lunacy, we will have a chance. Brenda is a smug faced cunt who doesn't deserve seven trophies in a row. Let's get lucky. I'm up all night to get lucky. Stand free. You bearded kiddy fiddling cunt. rocket
  3. Well that's not very helpful. And anyway, Ellon is full of wankers, wannabe middle class wankers.
  4. Let me rephrase. Copying and borrowing quality from others is great. Passing it off as your own original is bad. Almost everything great that has been said or thought has been said or thought before.
  5. Plagiarism is good. 'Tis a noble art. You said it like it was a bad thing.
  6. Karma Rico, I'm talking about karma. Just cos we can't capture it and put it in a box, doesn't mean it's not there. Of course Consi wasn't at fault. Poor poor clearance by Ferguson.
  7. When Ferguson whacked it into Considine, that was a very poor attempted clearance but I was reminded of something from Parkhead last season. Logan was injured or suspended so McInnes had the bright idea of putting Dominic in as a replacement Right Back, a position I don't know if he'd ever played in before. It was certainly his first time at RB for us. He was hopeless that day, slow to turn, slow to think, just a fish out of water. He had got lucky in that no goals had come through him until just before half time when a speculative shot from outside the box deflected off him and past Lewis for a goal that Celtic barely deserved at that point. The word that came to mind was hapless. Just like Considine wasn't to "blame" for Lewis hitting it into him on Saturday, Ball wasn't to "blame" for Celtic's opening goal that day. It's like the karma from the football gods saying "summin ain't right", as the Stereo MC's sang. Poor Andy has been shoved from pillar to post by McInnes, a fill in left back which became more than fill in for far too often, a fill in CB when injuries and suspensions demanded it and yet he always tried his best and even threw a hat trick in at Dens just to remind us that he's got something good to offer. He's never had the benefit of playing consistently in the same role for a period of a decade and inevitably hadn't made the progress in his development that perhaps he might have been capable of. Now that we have Lowe and Devlin, there's no room for the hapless Considine, hopelessly managed by successive managers at AFC for a very long time. God help us on Sunday if Devlin's not fit.
  8. Fascinating first half at Villa Park. Some great fitba. Many of these players on the pitch are light years ahead of SPFL standard, fitter, faster and technically so good.
  9. Blackkklansman and Sacha are all about intolerance. The skill with which SBC exposes the stupidity of Americans is courageous, although the yanks aren't his only target. Spike Lee's Jungle Fever is one of the greatest films in history. A must see for anyone who hasn't.
  10. I seen Borat when it came oot. Mildly amusing. Bruno had me pishing my punts.
  11. ^ this There are some BIG reasons for starting Anderson instead of Wilson today. First of all, he deserves it on merit. His points earned single-handedly versus minutes on pitch is the best in the world right now. I'm not counting the sub in the Warrington Sunday League Division 4 who came on in the 87th and headed the winner because that was his only appearance this season, before going on to his liposuction operation which went horribly wrong. What the fuck more does Anderson have to do to get his first SPFL start? Playing him today would show everyone in the club that the manager runs a meritocracy, that he is fair with them all, that he's not ageist, he doesn't have his favourites, isn't too loyal to some and not others and that the American dream is alive and kicking inside AFC. It would also boost team morale to see a deserving case treated right and can only help the respect levels being afforded to the gaffer. Wilson infuriates me. He cracked in a peach v. Hamilton and has some obvious quality but he's been an underachiever, ever since he got a big contract at 18 coincidentally, although his ACL was unfortunate. He's a fill in, a temporary stop gap, a loanee who we don't build our future around. Anderson on the other hand, like every one of the dozens of AFC youngsters working hard every day for the opportunity to play, is our future. Consi straight swap for Devlin.
  12. Me and youngest daughter just watched Bruno. Can't believe I hadn't got round to it before. Best literal laffin out loud film ever, or at least since I was 12 when I seen Monty Python in the cinema. Sacha B C is a total genius.

Minijc, I've got Almere City HT/FT @ 12/5. They scored right after I staked. At 1-0 after 65 minutes, should I take the 2.72 cash out now or wait for the full 3.4? Don't you understand how utterly stupid your argument was? Never trust people who want to lift your leg. Edit: red card means the cash out is now 2.04. How does this punter option favour the bookie? Edit: an equaliser from Dordrecht means the cash out is less than 0.5. If I had cashed out, how would that have been a bad decision? And how can my having the option benefit the bookie?

A very long tirade is not necessary nor would it be welcome. A short bullet-point summation of his worst three aspects would be appreciated and more than likely interesting however.

Is that your opinion - both of you - or that of the media?

Rock on Rico The state of the oceans is probably the biggest blight on humanity in my lifetime. And all the new European power stations being built by the Chinese, and powered by coal seems total nonsense to my inexpert mind. Surely some of you oil twats will have an opinion? There was a question about the bet365 wifie on Question Time tonight. Now that is a free market - and it was good that there wasn't the same outrage on what she paid herself as I had heard elsewhere - but it was suggested that the company is registered in Gibraltar. Does anyone know the implications of betting companies being registered on the rock particularly?

Like the cut of your thrust Rico min. I think Corbyn would make a better PM than anybody else in our lifetimes but you make him look like a capitalist cunt. Loving your sentiments despite not being able to do the maths presently

Access to food and shelter is available to all. Just GIVING it to people makes no sense. Sloth is a deadly sin and the entitlement culture is an ugly thing, whether spoilt-by-their-parents brats or talented people who get used to their arses being kicked lasciviously.

    1. Me no understand. 2. Winning at school sports isn't considered healthy these days. Participating is the only goal. I don't know if schoolteachers have noticed but life is actually quite competitive in the real world. Punishment for not complying. I loved school so I find it very sad how you portrayed your experience of it. Maybe the schoolteachers you had were ALL shite (although I can't imagine that) but not shite enough in their own heads to ask for a 10% pay rise in the news today. 3. Sardonic. Or maybe ironic. No, sarcastic is probably closer.

Self discipline? The biggest influence on success or failure, in most things. Nanny state? No winners or losers at schools. No competition. No punishments. "Empowering" the kids. Flexible learning. Flexible working. Less and less responsibility. All wanting something for nothing. Not prepared to graft for it. Celebrity culture, albeit Z list. I don't even have an approach to gambling, far less a nanny state approach. It is what it is. The fools are getting parted from their money. It was ever thus. Good that they're looking into it but castigating Mrs Coates or whatever her name is for seeing the future and making shedloads out of it shouldn't be the focus, even if it is a symptom. It is tall poppy syndrome all over again.

The problem is the stupidity of the nation. That the education standards have dropped so alarmingly is undoubtedly state-culpability but the bigger issue is a lack of self discipline, something the nanny state has allowed. As for pharma and the foodchain, that's just plain old corruption, albeit aided and facilitated by the state. There is an argument that the doctors prescribing statins to adults and anti-depressants to kids should be shot but even here, it's a cultural system that has been engineered at the expense of the health and well being of the people. Diabetes earns too much for them to want to find a cure/better solution, that's a fucking crime in this day and age.

The advertising is nauseating but again, only works on the feeble minded. What's interesting is how these clever advertising agencies appeal directly to their markets. The Coral campaign deliberately has a geeky gleck who's strapline is "don't bet silly, bet savvy". Ladbrokes ran with Mr Brightside and his gang of mates - including the token black of course (the generous one, handing out chips) - but these "characters" are peer craters (in old NE spik), deliberately chosen and engineered to act on-screen so as to "appeal"/ make a "connection" to "ordinary people". It's exactly the same with the over 50's markets, as we see in insurance and funeral plans etc., advertising and marketing using subjects that the feeble minded can "relate to". I preferred the aspirational model personally but advertisers are best placed to know with great precision what works best and when the majority of the population has been dumbed down to the extent it has been, and regressing worse year on year, it's easy pickings.

A lot pf people seem to be up in arms that the wifie who owns bet365 paid herself £265m this year, up from £217m last year. I don't recall this being "news" a year ago? Is it the amount involved? Is 265m worthy of condemnation but 217m is ok? Also in the news earlier this week was a dramatic increase in online gambling by the young. Yes society has an obligation to look out for its vulnerable but I'm sorry, the state isn't responsible for the personal decisions of the stupid. It's not like the punter doesn't know that there is a risk involved in placing a bet. A fool and their money etc. If they're so unbelievably idiotic to use online casinos however - a method of "gambling" totally ignored by the sane - then I reckon there's a debate to be had there. These are pure evil in my book, software designed to profit with no "chance" being given to the punters, although Roulette in a real casino is also stacked against, their giving 35/1 for 37 possibilities with the green zero being the beacon of the mathematical stacking towards the house.
  24. Please let me know if any of you have a spare ticket. Young man at our local was at the semi but doesn't have a ticket for the final.
  25. Well placed first goal but horribly slow defending. Then a ridiculous red card and game over. The test of a good team is being able to compete with other good teams and consistency in beating up the shite teams. Beating a really shite team reduced to 10 men not the greatest examination paper but should surely give confidence and inspire them to whip Israel (who thrashed an even shitter team a few days ago).
