I would argue that it's not homophobic to be repulsed by two men kissing if you are a heterosexual man. But the agenda they push is to normalise it and thereby normalise themselves and their perversion. I reckon most gay men feel guilty and/or embarrassed about being gay. My evidence for this is zero. It is homophobic to act upon one's repulsion.

Div ye mind Gary Suzy in Aberdeen in the 70's? That was a freak show.

It is indeed but in that specific case, it was predominantly a tragedy. The "coaches" were eventually convicted but received very light sentences, as if fucking with people's lives wasn't that serious when the state decreed that sporting achievements was necessary for the good (self-image) of the nation. Syed is a beautiful writer. That was a story he related in a section of his book discussing cheating in sport and the role of politics. When two guys kiss and slobber all over each other on the shit soap that my 16 year old daughter watches - not that her age is a decent excuse for my poor parenting that she watches that shit (she at least jacked in Love Island last night, whatever that is) - it turns my stomach.
-
Germaine Greer said this specifically in the documentary currently available on BBC iPlayer. But Matthew Syed wrote about Krieger, the East German shot putter who at 13 was initially fed enormous quantities of Oral-Turinabol followed by other anabolic steroids and shit that turned her masculine. She eventually had a sex change operation and happily married, whilst needing daily testosterone injections to maintain her/his nature-defying conditions.
-
Not sure I understand your line of questioning. So I need to guess. I said that someone who decides to change their sex is wired up wrong. Is there any doubt that those who prefer exclusively grunnies or children are wired up wrong?

The Genesis 7 day thing is just a theory. As is Darwin's. I like to think that some things are unknowable but no harm in speculating and putting forward theories. That's great for debate. Humility is absent in most scientists however, unlike this scientist who knows he knows fuck all. Ask Beryl if I can come round and fuck her from behind over the back of the sofa. Get her to take her tights off and she can still watch the telly.
-
I don't think anyone is denying you your rights Beryl. I just think you're a weirdo. Wired up wrong was a phrase you used. That's my judgement too.
-
It is natural to judge someone based on their sexual preference. Everybody does it. It's not natural i.e. of nature to shove a penis up an arsehole. Doesn't mean they're a bad person. Doesn't make me want to vilify them or even know about them. It's ok that they're out of the closet these days and can marry each other but adopting children? That's taking it way too far. That's sick.

Given the performance of the English during PMQ's today and the outrageous denial of the Scots MP's right to debate in the amendments bill last night, this thread title is most apt in the context of Westminster.

Not so long ago, there were "queer-bashers" and lynch mobs. Imagine the mindsets of the perpetrators? What type of human goes out to physically injure others of a different sexual persuasion or even more insidiously, joins the KKK so that they can kill "niggers"? These days, we are not even allowed to say these words. Chris Rock is allowed to of course, as are NWA and Dre and Snoop Dog etc. but in their attempts to deal with homophobia and racism, their stupidity in policy has resulted in word and language restrictions, if not outright denial. It's usually always white trash who are guilty of bigotry and prejudice... in our culture. But elsewhere, the 2,000+ tribes in Africa and the Wahabis and Sunnis and Shias are all guilty of intolerances based on race or ethnicity and probably always will be. Holocaust denial is now a crime in Germany and other countries. It's not just words that have been outlawed, it's ideas that are getting suppressed. Freedom of speech is as mythical in the first amendment of the US constitution as the concept of freedom anywhere in the world. The saddest are those who are brainwashed how to think, including and especially those who go to great lengths to "fit in".

Predictably, the original post has brought up a basic incongruity. On page 1, it had been expressed that there was too much homophobia in evidence. I never saw it. There was no "dislike of or prejudice against homosexual people" being expressed. On the other hand, there were rigorous attempts to present oneself as being so "modern" and "politically correct", the posters were more concerned at stating their ambivalence of this subject so that they could NOT be considered homophobic. Where this all goes wrong is that the truth becomes secondary to the labels we don't want to wear. I find bigotry and prejudice towards any "minority" or group of people unacceptable, whether on religious, ethnic or sexual grounds. That doesn't mean that I don't believe that all religious people are stupid, which I do. But they've not invented a religiophobic label for me yet, or at least not to my knowledge. I don't trust certain peoples, based on many years of business experience. The two countries in particular that I don't do fuck all with until I see the colour of their money in my bank are not based on ethnicity, being white in one case and arab in the other case. My business policy may therefore be considered "racist" but for the fact that on the contrary, I thank the peoples of these two countries for alerting me to the fact that there are shit people in this world, including in my industry. This allowed me to tighten up my policies and procedures for everyone but when I do go an extra inch or mile, it's not for new prospective clients from certain countries, based on previous experience so yes, I am prejudiced, I make prejudgements based on certain countries. On sexuality, none of us care what consenting adults get up to and none of us would give a shit if one of our footballers was gay or straight. But that doesn't mean we don't all have our own views of what homosexuals are. You should all see the Germaine Greer documentary on iplayer just now. She's quite a sad old lady with much to offend us with but what I love about her is that she never compromises what she thinks or says just to fit in with the established order of things. The establishment tolerance of certain minorities is pursued more aggressively than for other groups and there are reasons for this. In the meantime, men force themselves on their unwilling wives and domestic abuse increases alarmingly on the days when the neanderthal man's football team gets thrashed.

There are exceptions to every rule and whilst I agree that Sol was a great footballer, was his sexuality not bi? Big difference between those who pot the brown and the pink v. those who stick to 4 points only. Of course you don't take everything I post seriously. I don't. Too obvious, my attempts to provoke. I do like mincing queers as a term however. It amuses and tickles me. Faggots is also an improvement on poofs, the latter being the most commonly used back in the day.
-
Not sure gay men would be good at fitba. They mince. Mincing about on twinkle toes is easy meat for real men.
-
I wouldn't say "very encouraging". On the contrary, they've been saying he's been poor for an extended period. And this is a mid-League 1 side! Interesting how little regard they have for AFC, talking about sell on clauses etc. They perceive Scottish football to be pish.

Pittodrie...What Will You Miss Most?????
rocket_scientist replied to SeeBass's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I miss going to Pittodrie with optimism, with hope, with expectation. More than this, I miss going with excitement and anticipation. Ever since Milne came on the scene, it's gradually turned to shit. How ironic and coincidental that our relocator was our saboteur. Will probably never attend a game at the Westhill Borebowl. AFC RIP. -
We are not going to fall out over this. I kent him for over 40 years. Let it go.
-
Dave Cormack - not McCormack - isn't worth the amount you're quoting. Irrespective, there's only one man in charge of AFC. The rest don't count whilst the poison runs the ship.

Eh? Remind me not to engage you for team building and talent identification purposes. Dalglish was and is socially awkward. Met him at the Dunhill Links and he was at our table for lunch. Even in that documentary he wasn't comfortable with his wife, sister and family. He's a fucking weirdo. Growth mindsets and Dalglish don't mix. His one dimensionalism means he can only truly relax in the company of great footballers. Lovely he ain't.
-
Absolutely, although sadly his best days were behind him before he reached the age when most are coming into their prime. There will be a number of reasons for this which will include the physical and the mental. He endured numerous injections that Ferguson got him to take to push his body beyond the pain threshold and beyond its limits, which would have taken its toll. But mentally, he never grew up. He was comfortable in the joker role but couldn't hold down lasting relationships, neither personally nor professionally. It is ironic yet fitting that his last act may have involved chasing skirt although tragic that he never found lasting love.

It will be considered crass in some quarters to evoke truth or at least not ignore truth during a period of grieving - and I'm hurting big time tonight - but here's something younger people won't know; Durrant was one of the most promising footballers Scotland had ever produced. His career was ended by that Neil Simpson assault. But it was Neale Cooper who inspired the assault through his sheer determination to win. It was a determination that was pre-existing in his psyche but a will to win that his manager, SAF, didn't just recognise, but used to great effect. Cooper was real. He gave his all on the pitch. He was programmed to fight and win and was so physically committed, he won more than he lost. They don't make them like that any more. RIP Nealie. Just a fantastic footballer and a perfect attitude in combat. We lost one of our best ever tonight. Love and respect.

That quote from Beckenbauer reminds me of the Quarter Final v. Bayern. Not the home leg, the best game ever at Pittodrie - which isn't opinion by the way given how many us agree - but the 0-0 away in the first leg. My uncle was there and said that the way Neale dealt with World Cup winner Paul Breitner was the best individual performance he'd ever seen, no mean feat given that he was still a teenager! I told Neale this at a birthday bash we all attended at Champers in the early 90's, a venue we attended most Saturdays in the early 80's. He agreed that he considered it his best game. I went to school with Neale, was stood next to his sister at Hampden when he made sure to give it enough pace to hit the net v. Rangers, was living in Glasgow when he signed for them so met him at the Holiday Inn, the city centre hotel just off the M8 where they put him up when he moved from Villa so have known him through good and bad for over 40 years. It's a tragedy that he's gone from us. I'll miss his funeral if its this week as I'm away Weds thru Sunday but I'll not forget his personality and his positivity. Most of all, I'll remember how phenomenal a footballer he was. He was gifted at most sports and could have played for Scotland at a few of them but he loved football and he loved life.

Passed away. Tragic.

Huesca yesterday were 4/1 at home to Gimnastic. Look at the league table to know that that's a crazy price. When it's too good to be true, it usually is so I ignored it. Right enough, a late away goal, a home red card and an away win. Bookies do make mistakes but not to that extent. The innocent explanation might be that someone punted massive on Gimnastic but whatever the reason, it stinks badly. Today on the other hand, I'm getting offered 15% more than my stake as a cash out on Bayreuth. I got them at 10/11. They're now down to 1/2. It pays to study form. Edit: Bizarre. Bet365 paid out my Coventry single. At full price! 2-0 with at least 25 minutes to go!
