  1. I thought Ifil made some strange decisions on the ball, a few times rather than just clear it he'd dribble around a bit, get closed in by a St Johnstone player, panic and the ball would end up at a St Johnstone players feet in the Aberdeen third. Foster did the same at one point as well I think.
  2. It really looks like it isn't working for McGhee, I never really like jumping on 'Get the Manager to fuck' bandwagon but I can't see how the team will get anything but worse under McGhee. If we win the rest of the games of the season then I will change my mind, but watching the game this evening I can't see how Aberdeen will win 1 game this season, never mind all of our remaining fixtures. Could be easier for me to pass judgement though as I am too young to remember McGhee playing football.
  3. That was bad, that was really really bad. That was the first league game I've been too since the draw at Easter Road and I can't understand how Aberdeen played that terribly in the second half, it seemed to be a group of players who almost didn't care, and whenever they tried to do anything it simply didn't work. I generally have a really positive outlook on Aberdeen but that was nothing other than just bad. I think the first half was one of the worst halves of football I've ever seen Aberdeen play. Some small bits of good play in the second half, mainly involving Paton or Fyvie. St Johnstone were terrible as well, constantly making mistakes, playing bad football, not making much in attack unless it came from a long ball, but their players just looked like they cared about the game. We were terrible. Highlight of the night was the drummer on the right in the fourth row of the pipe band.
  4. I'm going. Though almost reconsidered when I looked at the price, no student discount makes this quite pricey for a match against St Johnstone. Haven't been to an Aberdeen game for weeks though so decided I may as well.
  5. I actually think St. Johnstone may go out and attack rather than sit in. They did that at Pittodrie earlier in the season and what little I've seen of them this season they have been prepared to go forward and attack teams. Probably a good thing for Aberdeen. Making my way up for this one and for the first time in a while am confident of coming out of it with three points.
  6. Anyone going to venture down/through to this? In two minds at the moment Which Aberdeen team will turn up? The confident good playing Aberdeen that will panic and resort to long balls as soon as they concede And will we get some points on the board? All three, through a fortunate goal in the 7th minute of added time at the end of the second half.
  7. In/Out - Haven't decided yet, are tickets going to be on sale at the ground? Pre-match: Train to Falkirk or bus to Forthbank depending on what game I chose to go to Post-match: Train to Edinburgh Prediction: 3-0 Aberdeen.
  8. IN/OUT: Out Pre-match: Work Match: Train home from Work Post-match: Flat Party/Acting how you would based on the result Prediction: Win in Extra time
  9. I thought Kerr played fantastic today. Best I've seen him play since the game at Easter Road when Aberdeen were down to nine men.
  10. Last time I said it Aberdeen won 4-2. I can't help but be positive.
  11. Either way I have an odd confidence Aberdeen may actually get something from this game. There was some good play against Hibs and Celtic have been inconsistent this season. Think, with a bit of luck, Aberdeen could win.
  12. There are aspects of it I like and aspects I don't. The fact that everyone here seems obsessed with Rugby gets a bit grating and there is a bit of an arrogance here, but there are some really good bits, nice bars, interesting people etc. When avoiding Edinburgh Uni I generally like it, but spent a while in the centre looking for a pub or bar that's actually showing the game and everywhere seemed to be showing the Rugby.
  13. Someone suggested that to me earlier. The one on Niddrie street? May head down there as everywhere else is showing Rugby or the FA cup game instead. Wouldn't think I was in a Scottish city.
  14. IN/OUT: Out Pre-match: Sleeping most likely Match: A pub, if I can find one in Edinburgh that will actually show the game Post-match: Out for a curry Prediction: 2-2
  15. Watching the highlights has made the penalty even more frustrating. The ball didn't even change the course of direction when it brushed Diamond's hand and it was completely accidental. Bad decision by the ref, but he made a lot, for both sides. Fairly sure he gave Zemmama as being offside when he was actually in the Hibs half at one point.
  16. It was awful, really awful. The pitch was in a pretty bad condition so the only thing I think could have happened was it bobbled before he kicked it, or something like that. There is no way a professional footballer should miss that badly.
  17. Never a pen, good game. Ref was almost as bad as last time down there. Can't help be dissapointed, but didn't feel confident two would be enough even at half time. Some good play generally, not entirely convinced by the subs (just me or where there six defenders on by the end?). Actually think that was Hibs best performance against Aberdeen this season, seems odd that it was this one we take points off them. And how did McLean get booked? I'm not entirely convinced it was a penalty, but the Hibs player definitely brought him down (not sure about whether he got the ball etc) so it certainly wasn't a dive. Thought Hibs should have been down to 10 men. Didn't really expect anything from the game though so it's a point more than I thought we'd have right now.
  18. I didn't actually think Aberdeen played that badly today. Didn't play great, couldn't score, usual problems but they didn't place any worse than most the games I've seen this season. The disappointment really seemed to be a complete lack of fight from the players until near the end, but footballing wise I've seen Aberdeen play worse this season.
  19. In/oot: In Prematch: Train from Edinburgh Match: Away end, row SS Postmatch: Train back to Edinburgh Prediction: 0 -2 Aberdeen
  20. I was just reading his blog: "Skillz pays da billz Yo whats popping fellow web surfers, bloggers, readers..." It continues much in the same vein. Looks like him anyway. Didn't the BBC once put a caption about Aluko with a picture of Vidal once? http://www.afc.premiumtv.co.uk/javaImages/15/a3/0,,10284~6857493,00.jpg[/img]
  21. I generally think Ifil has been good, a few mistakes and strange decisions, but generally I've been happy with him. Grassi is a completely different case.
  22. Wasn't at today's game but the game on Wednesday he played absolutely awfully. In the first half I was convinced if Hearts were going to equalise it would come from a Grassi mistake. He was probably the poorest player on the pitch and I'm including an awful Hearts team in that assessment.
  23. Completely agree with these sentiments.
  24. Aberdeen genuinely played well on Wednesday I thought. I know it's been an inconsistent season, but that inconsistent? Seems a little extreme. Hearts were poor on Wednesday, but I didn't think they were that bad, better than Killie were last Saturday I thought.
  25. Looking forward to this. Never been there before.
