Aberdeen chase Udinese defender Nikola Vujadinovic
Aberdeen
Aberdeen hope to sign defender Nikola Vujadinovic on loan from Udinese.
But the 24-year-old Serbia-born Montenegrin's switch from Serie A to the Scottish Premier League depends on him receiving a work permit.
The left-back, who can also play in defence, impressed while on trial at Pittodrie last week.
Vujadinovic, a former Montenegro Under-21 international, joined Udinese in 2008 but was on loan to Romanians Unirea Alba Iulia last season.
Despite his presence in their defence, Unirea were relegated after their first season back in the Romanian top flight.
Vujadinovic was a trainee with Red Star Belgrade before moving to Rad Beograd, Zeta then CSKA Sofia.
After a season with the Bulgarian Premier League club, he won a one million euro transfer to Udinese, signing a five-year contract with the Italians.
Aberdeen concluded the paperwork for the move before Tuesday's closure of the transfer window.
