Played at the back, and wasn't too bad. Still not as sharp as he needs to be though.

We actually played some lovely football at times yesterday, we really just lacked the final ball. If we had a bit more dig and industry in the middle of the park, and we could just get the correct ball at the correct time when we're attacking then things might not look so bleak. When was the last time you saw a proper defence splitting pass from one of our players? Our real issue though, and it's one we've had since MM took over is that our defence is terrible. Accies were picking out holes in our defence with ease every time they came forward, and in the closing minutes of the game we saw Zander trying to mark three players on his own. Our marking is extremely suspect, and we seem to lack any sort of ability to defend the flanks.

Cove Sheep et al? That was driving me fucking crazy today. It's hard enough to support the team just now but when the support is behaving like some sort of petulant child it makes it doubly difficult. Slagging Aluko for 90 minutes, abusing him when he's covering the post for a set piece and then shouting at him not to come back when he was substituted was completely fucking out of order. The problem at the club right now isn't down to any one player so singling people out is completely pointless. A bit of positivity from us might actually filter down to the players, and vice versa. As for Kerr, he was far from our worst player today and showed a few signs that some of the dig he had last season might actually be returning, if he could start completing passes he might actually be the player we all know he can be. I'd rather have a player who we know does have something but is struggling to show it over a player who may never have any real ability, which is what he'll inevitably be replaced with.

I'll take a guess - he'll spend most of summer trying to sign 2 or 3 players he knows he can't afford then when we sign nobody he'll give a completely baffling press conference where he lectures us about the financial state of the club and tells us to lower our expectations for another season.

McGhee's IQ seems to drop to single figures during interviews. What he said about the players who he won't mention was an absolute embarrassment. There was absolutely no need for him to talk about that in the slightest and it just made him seem completely dishonest. If I was one of his players I would be demanding to know who he was referring to as every player has a right to know where he stands in relation to his manager.

That really shouldn't take too much time!

I'll never treat any season as a write off, and neither should our players, management or board. That's the kind of thinking/mentality that will bite us on the arse big time and have us in a relegation scrap.

I agree, but we don't seem to be in a position where wholesale changes can be made. Miller goes for 500k and we're told that will allow MM to make transfers, then we're told he cant afford any of the three players he wants (none of which are a central defender). He's going to have to do it with this current squad and its become patently obvious that he's lost his way, especially when he has to have a Q&A session with the first team to work out why his tactics aren't working. If it costs less to bring in someone who can work with the pile of pish we have on the park then surely that's the only road the board can go down. I thought it was a massive mistake to appoint McGhee at the start of the season and nothings happened thus far to change my mind. There simply must be someone out there who can do a better job, thankfully it's not my job to identify that person and I can only hope it doesn't become another one of the boards horrific decisions since that seems to be their style.

If we're going to be playing in the bottom 6 for the rest of the season then he needs to get back to basics, drop this fucking 4-5-1/4-3-3/4-4-1-1 shite and get back to a good old fashioned 4-4-2 with some solid man marking at the back, and clearly defined roles throughout the rest of the team that players can understand. If they fuck up the simplest formation in the game then we really will see which of the players are the problem.

He's on a one year contract, it will cost us fuck all. He simply leaves of his own accord.

If it does come to it, binning mcghee will cost us nothing. His contract expires at the end of the season. Given the way things are right now if the board aren't looking at the options for a replacement then they're even more stupid than we all think they are.

Anyone who watched todays game will be under no illusions, McGhee is out of his depth. He needs to learn how to deal with this, and he needs to do it seriously quick.
