  1. I would be surprised if our budget could stretch to signing both Hendrie and Hartley. Probably end up with one or the other.
  2. I played there once years ago. Heaviest rain I've ever seen in my life. Hope this helps.
  3. Nae need to get personal with Tosh, he's probably just mentioned 'lack of experience' or something as a possible issue for Aberdeen this year after being hassled by an EE journo desperate for a headline. Tomorrow another player/manager/coach/fan/pisshead in the street with any tenuous Aberdeen connection will 'BLAST', 'SLAM' or 'HIT BACK' at AFC and there will be still no reason to give a flying fuck.

  5. Was born in Aberdeen and was obsessed with football from a very early age - I remember wanting to go to Pittodrie for ages before my first game at the age of five. Although no-one in my immediate family is a don it was never a conscious decision, so its difficult to put a reason on why. Just coz for me too then...
  6. Mark McGhee.... A take on the life and career of our glorious leader from a Newcastle Utd website http://www.nufc.com/
  7. The only lower league players we should be loking at are youngsters whose careers are on an upward trajectory. It's probably been said before but the likes of Snodgrass and Dorrans would have been within our range at some point. The likes of Hinds on the other hand, were never going to improve and we took them into a league which they weren't capable of performing in.
  8. It's a while away, but just booked up for Echo & the Bunnymen at the Academy in December. Apparently they're playing a run-through of their first two albums. Wow.
  9. Next season - sorted. Kind of. http://www.afc.co.uk/articles/20100510/team-of-youngsters_2212158_2048217
  10. Roberstson and Gibson start. Aberdeen: Langfield, Foster, Robertson, McDonald, Ifil, Mulgrew, Duff, Kerr, MacLean, Mackie, Gibson. http://www.afc.co.uk/articles/20100508/latest-from-paisley_2212158_2046782
  11. It was 3-1, I remember because that was the score I had on my coupon
  12. I reckon he'd lava chance to miss a game for once.
  13. Aye, until he gets bored/has a breakdown and fucks off.
  14. Just mentioned by Jim Traynor that he 'launched into a foul mouthed tirade' on a BBC reporter after he questioned his position in the post-match interview. There's a man feeling the pressure.
  15. I normally can't stand Martin Samuel but it's difficult to disagree with anything in there.
  16. I agree, I see no reason to keep him. Makes me wish we punted him for cash when his stock was high last year.
  17. For me the only tangible highlight has been the Hearts game. Wasn't in Olomouc, missed the 4-4 with Celtic and could probably count the victories I've seen in the flesh this season on one hand. I'm not sure I can pick a player who deserves to be credited as the best over a whole season, while at the same time there's been far too many displays of ineptitude for numerous figures at the club to pick the poorest from. It's a fucking miserable existence being a Dandy sometimes
  18. Option 2: There is no point in persevering with players who won't be here next season, while at the same time these games are perfect for including the young lads, certainly more so than throwing them in at the deep end.
  19. The idea here is that proportionally, Aberdeen has a lot of untapped potential when it comes to fanbase. A city with the population of 200k plus (not to mention the surrounding area), with no other SPL side within an hour's drive, can only attract on average ten or eleven thousand over the course of a season. Take for example, St Johnstone, who last night attracted 5,700 to the Utd game. Take off a generous estimate of 1700 Utd supporters and a town of around 35,000, with a cluster of clubs including Dundee Utd, Dundee, Dunfermline and Falkirk within half an hour is getting 4000 fans - proportionally much more. While you could say that they have a more promising team at the moment, this is countered by the fact that the game was televised. Hence why it is logical to believe that Aberdeen, with few local competitors and a relatively large population, could attract more fans than any other club side outwith the OF.
  20. Going over old ground in today's paper:
  21. Aye, and Patton drifted in and out
  22. I'd agree with this, for any of the players to believe that their critics have been answered because they salvaged something from two goals down is ridiculous. As McGhee himself has alluded to, we could win every game between now and the end of the season and it'd make little difference. Plenty of the squad have made their attitude abundantly clear over the last 9 months. For whatever reason, not everyone at the club has been pulling in the same direction this season, and that's one of many things that needs sorted for the next campaign.
  23. Can we afford Ross Tokely still?
  24. Because the rest are worse than Ifil...
