With all due respect phil. We have tried these things before and they continue to fail, we all knew what was going to happen at peterhead once that team was announced. Heres a cunning plan that might fox the opposition how about we try for a couple of games at least to play players in their strongest positions. Try maguire and miller upfront as it looks like we are going to need maguire this season. Try mackie on the bench - see how he fits into that role

It sounds good to me = this is exactly what i was hoping to hear..............but i remember hearing the same about macauly, davie donald, baggie and davie ross bad none of them ever got a real shot. I hope he means business this time, even if it means we take the coming season as a building process.

You mean people like me that are shouting for them to get in the first team and go and support them at reserve and under 19 games, yeah its my fault young players arnt given a change by Calderwood ;D not every game hangs in the balance in the last 10 - 15 mins i mean how many times were we getting pumped 2 or 3 nil last season away from home, we could have been throwing some younger players on then and getting them some experiance (if we had we might not be looking for several transfers this summer) cant do their confidance any more harm then sitting on the bench watching has beens or dutch rejects going through the motions. And im off the cakes just now but i will be having my fruit and eating it

Would be happy enough with this too, really need to start pitching youngstars in just incase worst comes to the worst. Seems to be working for other teams, and our youth teams are usually above them in the league so cant understand why we have such a lack of youth players in the running for at least regular sub apperances

Aluko Started16 Also came of the bench 9 or 10 times Byrne Started 15 sub once i think Lovell Started 10 and had over 15 sub appearnces Maybury Started 18 Mcnamara Started 18 had a few subs as well Nicolson Started 43 Touzani Started 11 also had 7 sub appearances Walker started 6 8 sub appearances havnt even bothered with the guys like bus etc who played a couple of games here and there, also left out souter as we replace him with another reserve keeper But the guys above played a big part in our team last year, and these guys were deemed as squad players (i would say maybury/nicolson would be the only one in our first choice starting X1)

Doesnt matter if they were in the position to start for the team or not they were still part of the squad and they all played a lot of games for us last season, you need a squad of 18 decent players to go through a season i would think. If you take our starting X1 out of the picture we dont have a lot of cover, and with JDV, Smith and Seve always likely to be injured at some point, you really need to sign cover. That wasnt my point, my point was if results hadnt gone our way we could have been well down the league, 4th papered over a lot of cracks, cracks which still need to be filled as wallpaper only lasts for so long

We need at least 4 players just to get by next season, to get 3rd i think we need about 8 signings. and also the same luck we had last season. Lets not forget if it wasnt for bebo's last minute goal at ICT we would have been 7th (even 8th as i dont think we would have won at hearts) Times creeping by and todays paper saying that 1 trialist coming in. Not enough im afraid nowhere near it.

He wasnt bad watched peterhead twice last season, both games mcvitie pretty much ran the show, think it was a poor decision to let him go. Smith didnt stand out but he put in a solid shift - and he was playing against a couple of pretty hefty lads too

well i for one in my 15 years supporting the dons / man united / scotland all over the world have never seen such policing, let alone at a friendly game, for 7 people no less. Absolute disgrace if you ask me, and 5 visitors to our city made to feel like criminals. Not very good now is it!
