I'd love to see Velicka stay fit and get into double figures, of course.
But the issue is that by letting Foster go and bringing in a striker, we've let go an extremely versatile player and brought in a one-dimensional one, debatably weakening an already stretched squad. Obviously, the capture of the Montenegran lad offsets this slightly, but the point remains a valid one.
Where Stavrum comes in, I'm not sure.
Just finished "Tourist Season" by Carl Hiassen, and half way through Alex Higgins' autobiography. The former was excellent, the latter fairly standard autobiog. stuff.
I would be inclined to agree that on first impressions it seems like a good deal for AFC. However, put it in context - there are two hours until the transfer window closes, Velicka has not played in years, we have not one full back in the squad, and 6 strikers competing for one place. Madness.
