  1. Of all the feasible candidates, I think McGhee might be the best option. By no means am I a fanboi, and I have doubts over his track record, but I'll support him if he comes in.

    Celeb Deaths

Not a celebrity as such, but the last Titanic survivor is broon bread as well.
  3. Christ all fucking mighty man, you like Boothroyd, we've fucking got it.
  4. While we have undoubtedly signed our fair share of mince (Hinds, DJaffo, Blaha, Paatelienens etc) over the past ten years, I think that is more than outweighed by the talent JC signed - Miller, J. Smith, Aluko, Severin, Lovell, Mulgrew, Langfield etc.
  5. No doubt he's out of our league now, given that he interviewed for the West Ham job and is being linked with Monaco, but I think John Collins wouldn't be a bad appointment. Likes to play good football, and would hopefully sort out the drink culture at the club. However, left Hibs due to money issues, and doubtful we'd be able to offer him anything more.
  6. I was convinced Di Matteo had scored the fastest FA Cup final goal in the late nineties against Boro. However, he scored the fastest FA Cup final goal at Wembley until today. The previous fastest goal was scored at Crystal Palace for Aston Villa in 1895.
  7. If we're going to go down the route of dead managers I heard Big Jock Knew how to manage a football team.
  8. I bumped into a Hibee around November time, and at that time, he would have swapped him for Calderwood no question. Think there may have been something of a divide in the support, between those wanting him out and those willing to give him more time.
  9. I guess once you go black, you just don't go back.
  10. That would be magic.
  11. Aye, Scott McDonald and Darren Fletcher have a shirt made by Belgian nuns before each and every game. It's of such high quality that said nun is transifxed by the beauty of the garment, unable to work again. Or they're sewn by Chinese four year olds, same as every other shirt in the world. Anyway, the design, I like it.
  12. If we're dealing with facts, then that record was good enough to get us into Europe. Again.
  13. I really think too much importance is being placed on the involvement of AFChat in JC's dismissal.
  14. You're right MD. Willie Miller should maybe look into a system where some of Africa's top young talent are given the opportunity to come to Aberdeen, thereby enhancing their and our reputation. What? Oh.
  15. Aye, you can explain our cup record over the past five years (see Calderwood, J.) But what of Hearts, Hibs, United, and the other thirty six teams in the Scottish league structure. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that the Old Firm are still working on a financial level far beyond what the rest of Scottish football. Yes, they might be poor imitations of the OF sides from the nineties/early 00s, but I reckon Scottish football has decreased in quality exponentially with the OF since those days.
  16. Of course. It enhances his reputation (and price!) It's just a situation we haven't been in very often in the past few years - having a full international, let alone a Nigerian one.
  17. Why do we hear constantly then that these are the worst Old Firm teams in living memory, and they are both 'there for the taking' every time we play them?
  18. I'd be gutted if the new manager turns out to be a former (Park) Ranger. Having said that, Yogi does seem to be smarter than the average (teddy) bear.
  19. haha, a name that has hitherto slipped under the radar! Would his appointment be too disastrous?
  20. Aye, it would be magic. We can pass our way all the way to tenth!
  21. I saw some folk bumping their gums on the Hat about finishing fourth being wank, because it was effectively the Intertoto Cup AFC would qualify for, a view I disagree with. It's through no fault of any qualifying club (be it first or fourth round) that UEFA re-organised the competition. Can a club turn down their spot, and would anyone want to? It would be a massive lack of ambition, IMO.
  22. probably a good decision from Sone, in the long run. Will he ever be good enough to play for England? I doubt it. However, were we to keep him for a few years, it means he'll have a fair bit of travelling to do in international weeks (as well as a month off in the middle of the season every 2 years for the ANC, including next season.)
  23. Interesting article. It's all a bit "woe is me" to my mind, and I don't think Jimmy does himself any favours. Nor does Stoney (and I bet they're having fun with it over on Hat) but who really cares.
  24. McLeish has a horrific record when it comes to building his own team - usually comes and does a good job with the existing squad, then things go south when he buys players. I would also agree with Dave, he's out of our league. Now that Strachan has gone, things might become clearer.
  25. I think some wee lassie took it off him, aye.
