New roles for Willie Miller and Neil Simpson

Director of football development! what's that then? Changing Fyvies bedsheets, polishing Grimmers boots! -
Did read that he is only signing the lad til January. Once Langfield is fit he will be reinstated in the team. Hope sentiment doesn't blind Craigs rational thinking. If he plays blinding for us and wants to stay on loan then Jamie might have to fight to regain his place, which is the way it should be.
-
Gossip column saying he might sign permanently.
-
Aye, good luck to the lad if he goes. Still think another couple o years we us would help his career but couldn't blame him for wanting to go. Half a million war chest for Craig broon or half a million in Stuart Milnes pouch :-/

What's happening? I am getting confused. not that its unusual. But i thought there was going to be a big change of players at Pittodrie. all i seem to hear is how satisfied he is with the team that played pish last year. We have replaced Zander, fair do's. But we are still going to need good replacements for Aluko, Hartley and Maguire if Aluko and Maguire go. And squad replacements for young, Vuji, blackman and possibly smith. missed a few out no doubt. It also seems like loan signings are more than likely. I am sure its all under control but would love to see a wee bit more happening. I am pretty impatient though. Just seen this waiting tactic fail SO many times!

Probably Gavin Rae if he signs.

Ha ha. When they say its for all ages its a bit Daft. I find that sometimes i have to curb what i am singing depending where i am sitting and to whom next. I don't like singing some o the songs if i am sittin next to a family. I know the parents shouldn't let there kids go to a singing area if they know the songs but . . . ! I just wonder if this has a bit to do with the backlash of the sectarian singing and hoping we can police ourself from singing some of our, lets say, not so PC songs?
-
Upper Dick Donald stand singing area. That's where the best noise is anyway, before they make it a singing area and try and take credit for it! I would much prefer them to be looking into a standing area for the die hards to go. Even intertwine the two?
-
He sounds a bit of a player actually. Reasonable Fitba history. Sign him up :-)
-
We are lucky to be level at half time. Imrie hat the cross bar we a cracking effort. usual punting up the park and Maguire and Vernon Offside. We truly are struggling to pass the ball. Aluko unfortunately anonymous. random Paton on the wing.

Got to admit this is the first season i didn't bother buying me Aberdeen tops. I used to buy them from a sports shop in Shetland off the rail. home and away strips, long sleeved with number and writing on the back. just couldn't be arsed with the rigmoral going on-line and paying extra for post and packaging. Bought a Scotland Fitba shirt instead and one of our supporter club shirts. That's well over a £100 they have lost out on. I know for a fact i ain't the only one. especially with Aberdeen doing so poorly you would think they would try a bit harder.

P&J: Brown prepares for a major Dons overhaul
McMaster replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
More likely to be the old Jackie McNamara -
My god its hell o a sad on here. Cheer up. I've seen success and utter failure from the Dons. Ok, this season is pathetic due to whatever reasons you want to blame it on, but it will get better. That's Fitba! We seem to have forgotten the Pele and Skovdahl eras. New season, new players and a good run in the league without injuries and its all change. Always proud to be a dandy. This talk of giving up and or jumping ship is hopefully a knee jerk reaction. If not, its bloody pathetic!
-
Yeah its pretty sad when i am more excited about changing the team next season than a forthcoming chance to beat Celtic at Hampden and finally get to a final.

I think if he wants to go and benifit his game he is making the wrong move. If money drives him then he can go. I still think he is getting crucified a wee bit by some dons fans. Ok he had Anderson at the start of his career but he really ended up being the one taking the flak for a team who was crying out for an experienced defender beside him. Perhaps he should have grown into the role but not every player has that capability in them. Even a Darren Dods or Davie Weir playing along side him might have just made that difference to make him a better player. Who knows!! I still feel, on his day, when he concentrates, he is a top class centreback. Its a shame his career has taken a bad turn recently. A few years ago he was immense and Considine was a joke. Considine has 'slightly' steadied the ship and Zander has been guilty of lazy errors. Craig Brown might just make a difference. Just have to wait and see.

Brown not finished in the transfer market yet
McMaster replied to Reekie_Red's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Interesting that he is still getting quoted as saying he is still on the look out for midfielders that are available on a free. He says he has one or two in mind. Looking at the list its a complete mixed bag! You wonder if we could pick up a really good player, taking a wage cut, that would want to put himself in the window until the end of the season? -
Well done the dons! In Orkney just now and heard the result yesterday when i got back into the b&b. Embarrassing enough i shouted and punched the air with delight. Whether or not we have turned the corner is yet to be known but i am thoroughly delighted with this result.

Lee Hendrie :OP
-
Glad to see him in the squad. hopefully he can cement himself a place in the starting 11.
-
Being honest i would think it was a better signing if it wasn't just a loan. But obviously not to be. Finding it hard to get excited about this one. Especially the thought if he does do well then we lose him. Just wondering with Ifil leaving if he is getting compensation oot o wiz?
-
Brown saying he will have at least one midfielder in by the weekend and is looking for another. Fingers crossed he can get the right guy(s) in
-
I wonder what Milne means by 'money' to spend for Craig Brown? How much? and how much money is to let players go that are on contracts? I still doubt he has given Craig even £100,000 to clear the squad and get new players in!! (being very optimistic!!) which i think is the minimum needed to just get players in and out during the window. Plus the wage budget has to be increased or else the big players would have to leave. If you were to buy Ifil out of his contract how much would that cost??? As open as the meeting was trying to be, figures would really help to let us know where we stand!! (well apart from free)

Big test now . . . .
