  1. Squad from AFC - 1 Jamie Langfield 2 Charlie Mulgrew 3 Richard Foster 4 Gary McDonald 5 Zander Diamond 6 Andrew Considine 7 Christopher Maguire (on loan to Killie ) 7 James Paterson (on loan from Plymth ) 8 Mark Kerr 9 Steven MacLean (on loan from Plymth ) 10 Darren Mackie 11 Sone Aluko 14 Derek Young 16 Stuart Duff 18 Davide Grassi 19 Peter Pawlett 20 Paul Marshall 21 Stuart Nelson 22 Jerel Ifil 23 Sammy Stewart 24 Michael Paton 26 Ryan Jack 27 Stirling Smith 30 John Bateman 31 Mitchel Megginson 32 Scott Ross 33 Hallur Hansson 34 Fraser Fyvie 35 Nicky Low 37 Joe Shaughnessy 40 Scott Bain Excluding the youngsters and assuming Paterson and MacLean leave at the end of the season (although I could see Paterson staying more than MacLean), the only players I would keep in the squad are Langfield, Mulgrew, Diamond, Considine, Maguire, Aluko, Paton, Pawlett and Fyvie. I also wouldn't be against Mackie and Foster staying, however if there is a chance of them moving on with better replacements, then good luck to them.
  2. Couldn't agree more GS. Absolutely pathetic performance from one of the most important parts of the team and our 'captain'.
  3. Just couldn't handle replying to anything last night. As has been said, McGhee ultimately carries the can as he is the manager, yet he is being hung out to dry by the fucking board, Willie Miller and Stewart Milne. As has been said, it was all to easy for Miller to come out and spout nonsense to appease the fans after Rangers, Copenhagen, before Bayern Munich and get some fans excited, but where the fuck is he now? Sipping fucking champagne in Soul? Comes out with nothing. Leaving McGhee to face the full extent of the media and fans whilst the board, Milne and Miller scuttle off like cretins. It's all so easy to be the darling of the media when the going is good, it's when the going get tough that the tough get going as Billy Joel said. It was their decision to not back Calderwood after the Euro run, it was their decision to offer him, Nicholl and Clark lucrative contracts, their decision to sack them a few months later, their decision to pay compensation for McGhee and Leitch and ultimately their decision not to back McGhee publicly and financially. To refuse to back their manager by freeing up the purse strings to offer 20k for a player like Jim O'Brien is scandalous. The more I see pictures of McGhee and read his comments (I have not yet listened to his interview), I actually feel sorry for him. Only last night, I think how much of a job he has on his hands. What he has at his disposal, are a bunch of players that are happy enough playing the 'glamorous' ties of the SPL, the Rangers, the Celtics, the Hearts, the Dundee Uniteds of this league but are not man enough to roll up the sleeves against hard working sides that will get in your face, get 10 or 11 men behind the ball and fight for every ball. Raith Rovers did that over the two legs, looked more hungrier and wanted it more and thoroughly deserved their win. An absolutely disgusting performance and utterly pathetic. I am sick of these players continually picking up a weekly wage packet at our beloved club. As I have said in another thread, I think it was last night that McGhee fully realised the magnitude of the task at this club, starting with receiving the backing by the board and then transmitting this upon the playing squad. This is nigh on impossible without finances. I think it made a statement about his opinion of the squad at his disposal, whilst losing against a first division side in a cup, he doesn't bring anyone on. That speaks volumes. Two reviews are needed at this club, 1) The management of the club encompassing the structure of the club and finances. Right from Stewart Milne to the ball boys. 2) The playing side.
  4. I still can't believe the game. I can believe the result as Raith out-fought us, out-played us and wanted to win. After 20 mins, once again as we have all seen, resorted to aimless punting it up. And once it was clear that it wasn't working, we changed to 4-3-3 with Aluko as the spearhead and aimless punts up to him! Raith deserved to win and good on them. Stuck to their tasks well, defended brilliantly and was unlucky to score only once. Why McGhee didn't hook McDonald, Kerr or Ifil, I will never know. Absolutely awful performances. It actually looked like we were playing with nine men. We've seen it all before and it still hurts.
  5. Every player was outplayed by a mid-table first division side.
  6. Christ I can't think of anything worse! IN/OUT: In Pre-match: Mate's flat humping him at Fifa Match: In the lower RDS I think Post-match: Home Prediction: 3-0

    Celeb Deaths

Charlie Wilson's War was quite an enjoyable film.
  10. Think I might avoid hearing the score of this game and watch the game on BBC Alba at 10!
  11. Is everybody still remembering about a certain cup replay against Raith Rovers?!
  12. Was this chanting going on? Whilst I heard plenty, I didn't actually hear this where I was sitting.
  13. ONLY good thing about Saturday is that we are still in the cup! Although last years result against Dunfermline highlights that just because we took it back to Pittodrie, doesn't mean that we are automatically going through to the next round. I would be very suprised if Raith don't set out to defend with every player behind the ball to frustrate the team and the crowd and hopefully get something on the break. If they go with these tactics, then I'm not confident whatsoever in breaking Raith down.
  14. Kerr has an inability to strike a ball in order to get himself a goal!
  15. Fair enough, it may be deserved when throwing about out on the internet, yet it there's absolutely no excuse for it during a football game. Childish. Following AFC, not Jimmy Calderwood. Regardless of it, Calderwood is past, McGhee is manager now. Excellent post otherwise!
  16. Lucky to be in the cup. But you've got to be in it to win it!
  17. Heard chants of 'Oh Jimmy Jimmy, Jimmy Jimmy etc etc', at the Falkirk game before they were shouted down quickly. Idiots. Another shite performamce.
  18. In/oot: In Prematch: Having tins in the back of the car and then onto a pub Match: Away end, row R I think Postmatch: Having more tins whilst being driven up north again Prediction: 0-2 Dons
  19. On a sidenote, I also see that Millertime is also banned.
  20. Oh well. I would hope, as I do, the more open-minded posters dont judge a person on the basis of their 'internet persona'.
