  1. Thaks for your input. Always appreciated. What is a bettle/non-bettle? Curious ken.
  2. Rocket doing that? No, that can't be right. He wouldn't do such a thing. I really think you've got it wrong Baggy. I'm shocked at these slanderous accusations.
  3. Right optimism (albeit in a small degree) has returned after Tuesday night. Does anyone know of any good central parking spots in Kirkcaldy? Where's people going for a sociable pint before the game?
  4. What effect would this have on AFC?
  5. The only thing I recall Mackie doing was running. His effort was commendable and would have every reason to think he left the field having given his 100%. However, other than this, Mackie didn't do much.
  6. Some really good touches by MacLean early on but faded out of the match. Understandable given his awful service and lack of match practice. Paterson was solid enough. Solid enough defensively and full of running and keen to get to the by line and whip in a cross.

    Celeb Deaths

David Brown, producer of Jaws and The Sting has died. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/8494382.stm
  8. The only 'wheel that has been set in motion' is that we are pumping long balls to Mackie. Truly awful stuff to watch and very frustrating.
  9. Without Pawlett and Aluko, we are so unbelievably short of talent on the wings it is a joke. No creativity or imagination or anybody that can beat a man. Using 4 central midfielders in the 4 midfield berths is not the answer. What is wrong with Pawlett? And when is Aluko back?!
  10. At this rate, Raith will pump us oot o the cup.
  11. Hopefully the signings can add a bit of excitement to a predictably dull encounter on a cold Tuesday night! Sounds good to me anyway!
  12. Didn't we get rebuffed by Bristol City for Clarkson and Kyle was wanting to wait till the end of the season? Reasonably happy with the dealings in the window. Wouldn't have minded seeing another wide player coming into the club but beggars can't be choosers! Whilst I am as equally stunned as everyone else for getting approx 500k for Miller, I am still somewhat saddened by his depature. Not saddened by him leaving, more saddened by the knowledge that he had an abundance of talent, yet showed it not nearly enough. On his day, he was a cracking player in the air and with the ball at his feet but for some reason, never showed this talent. Perhaps it was down to hopeful punt up to him from the defence which was seen so often or just general laziness on his part. His best spell for AFC came in Jan 2009, in my opinion. However, generally his goals to games ratio is not good enough to be the goalscorer AFC so blatanly need. Hopefully MacLean will provide a 'fox in the box' kind of striker we need and will provide goals. Has a decent goal-scoring record but not seen much/anything atal of him to form an opinion on him! Thus can also be said for Paterson. Can he play anywhere else apart from left back? Another defender was a priority. What does this mean for Mulgrew? Impressed me when he has played at centre back this season, but Diamond is returning through injury? Also Maguire going out on loan suits both parties. For too long, he has shown no progress whatsoever since being involved with the first team, only showing glimpses of his potential. Equally as frustrating as Miller, in the sense he has the ability but shows it not nearly often enough. It's my fear that he will never realise this potential as it is coming to the stage now that he can no longer be classed as a 'youngster'. He's been in the first team long enough now to at least show some development and progress, yet I see none. You can point to often being deployed out wide instead of through the middle but this should not halt progress in technical ability and physique.
  13. Aberdeen have secured the signature of striker Steven MacLean from Plymouth Argyle. He will join up at Pittodrie on loan until the end of the season.
  14. I think it is very sad to expect people to remember every good/alright/no bad/outstanding/out of this world save that the No.1 of the club may have pulled off. What people may think was a good save, others might find other negatives to pick on. I also think that a player who was voted player of the season (deservedly) a season or two back is worthy of wearing the Aberdeen shirt. Behind McGregor and Boruc, I struggle to find a better keeper in Scotland than Langfield.
  15. Shame. Really impressed on Saturday. Would be a great addition to the team.
  16. What an absolute terrible performance. Ifil, Grassi and Langfield had absoulte nightmares. Not seen quite such woeful performances for a long time. After about 10 minutes, the creativity and invention seemed to be thrown out the window and aimless punts up to Miller, who was anonymous throughout, was the order of the day. Shite. Ifil couldn't head the ball or make a pass. Instead just tried to rip the shirt of Sutton every single time. I've seen a paper bag put up more of a fight for the first goal than Grassi did and Langfield spilled it when all that was needed was an easy catch. The next two goals were again avoidable and just a mess. Kerr couldn't make a pass and Mackie and Mulgrew, whilst industrious, lacked creativity or imagination.

    Celeb Deaths

Nobody had Ruben Kruger. Brain cancer. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/rugby_union/8485072.stm
  18. Hopefully it will be a decent enough game with Aberdeen carrying the performance over from Wednesday. Going to be pretty cold but hopefully the performance and result will warm me up!
  19. On Kickback, Jefferies is the one who is wanted and according to SSN, he is a serious candidate for the job.
  20. Booked mine the day, but the wife charged us as adults when we are students! Chances of being refunded?
