  1. Well, I for one, will be giving Calderwood a good reception. I fully expect there to be some boo's, groans and mutterings. But I would hope the majority of Dons will give him a good reception and drown the others out.
  2. Money money money, is so funny, in a rich man's world....
  3. I was under the impression Meldrum was a goalkeeping coach and a fitness coach? I was unaware he was employed in any other roles other than that.
  4. Granted there has been obvious lack of finance to the squad compared to previous seasons. However, this is because of a number of factors you have failed to add. The recession, the collapse of Setanta, the reduced TV deal that was accepted, fluctuation of attendances and the decision to pay off two 3 and a half year contracts and pay compensation for our current management team all being factors. The debt is hanging over this club like a noose and I doubt that we will see a 'big' transfer fee being spent at AFC for a long time. The lack of investment by the board a few seasons ago was ridiculous, yet as you have said yourself, that's history. In my opinion, given the current climate of not only football but society in general, it's no suprise that AFC are feeling the pinch just like any other football club and business. Again I would like to see your evidence for the more coaches and scouts that we have needed at the club? Generally, I feel that Willie Miller has done more things good for this club than he has done bad. People find something to berate AFC for, before it has been Milne, Keith Wyness, Calderwood, Foster, Mackie, Young, Duff, the split in the support, the debt, toasters and now it's Willie Miller, his £3,000,000 pay cheque that he takes out of the club, he does fuck all, useless business man so why should he be in charge of our club etc etc. The JMG mob weren't concerned by how much it would cost to change the management team last season so why should you be concerned by it now? I was under the impression that the money we would spend on changing the management team would be recouped by the hugely increased attendances and season tickets holders rushing back to Pittodrie as silky attacking football was in order. We can all see that has happened. Not.
  5. Sorry rocket. I may have missed the story or link that you have provided me with so I can really see what happened. Would you care to re-post said story/link again please?
  6. Strange one. If Romanov is unwilling/unable to release funds to sign the likes of Izale Mcleod and Steven MacLean, then surely Lee Miller would command a larger wage? Saying that it is the EE who is reporting it so I will take this story with a large bucket of salt.
  7. I do love the mock outrage of football fans. JC allegedly insults the North East and thats not okay, yet it is okay to insult him and give him dogs abuse!
  8. Thanks for clearing that up.
  9. With the exception of the form of Peter Pawlett and the emergence of Fraser Fyvie, I am struggling to find much progress that has been made. For the vast majority of the season, the football hasn't improved and consequently the entertainment factor hasn't improved. Dominating possession yet doing very little with it is an all too familiar recurring theme of Aberdeen's play and has been evident on several occasions this season. Miller is still affected by bouts of laziness and theatrics, Mackie still can't score in a barrel of fannies, Kerr goes from being absolutely dung to brilliant, McDonald has an invisibility cloak, Aluko has never hit form this season (although the U-21 World Cup and injuries will have held him back), Maguire is still listed under the category of 'has glimpses of potential' and Langfield still can't kick over the half-way line. Foster, Pawlett and Fyvie are the only ones that immediately spring to my mind that have been set a consistent standard. There is no evidence to me that points towards real progress has been made. Perhaps during the transfer windows, McGhee can clear the players that he doesn't want and believes he doesn't need (Wright, McDonald, Young, Duff, Mackie, Maguire & Paton out on loan etc), he will some budget to work round and a few targets that he can really go for which will improve the team. However, until then it's all a lot of hot air to the press.
  10. Haha! What is the point with the EE stories? Yet another one that has no quotes whatsoever to back up the story headline!
  11. I've said this before that Mulgrews corners are particularly awful, either are far too deep or don't beat the first man. And on Saturdays showing, Fyvie is not that good either.
  12. Tommy Wright Wright Wright, He's been fucking shite shite shite, nearly as bad as Leon Mike Mike Mike.
  13. As one Partick Thistle fan put it - 'They're just Rangers fans in disguise. They're Rangers supporters than cannae get there.' Hopefully Raith will prevail!
  14. Found this 'lovely tribute' - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0GT1kVTs68&feature=fvw
  15. Holy shit! What a comeback from Mali!
  16. I don't think he has performed any worse than some of the players around him. Granted his best game was yesterday but in my humble opinion, I think he has performed adequately at the job and position he has been given. Been a decent enough short term signing.
  17. Difficult one for me. As said Leighton is the greatest goalkeeper ever to play for the red, but the 80's was when he peaked. Theo Snelders was great too but having been born late in the 80's, I cant really remember much of Snelders. Kjaer was good too, yet I wasn't old enough to fully appreciate him, and too young to see what he actually offered too a very poor team at that time. So that leaves Langfield....
  18. Decent enough player to have round for a month or two. Filled in capably and performed adequately. Didn't think he was ever going to sign for us for longer but thanks anyway Mo.
  19. Provisionally going to try and make it down wherever we play!
  20. I see our sportsmanship has got one poster shaking with rage.
  21. And Zaluikas was hassling him. Fyvie also played a blinder. McDonalds days are numbered at the club I'm afraid.
  22. Checking out Kickback and it got me wondering.... Why do Hearts fans believe they are famous? And what are they famous for?
  23. Second half was immense, particularly from Kerr and Pawlett. Both did fantastic and I'm glad that Mackie scored!
