After hearing this story, I'm pumped up for sending an irate email to AFC. I better get it written before I go flat.

I would said the vast majority of the red cards this season, shouldn't have been red cards had it been for a little common sense from the match officials. However, getting sent off for kicking somebody? That is petulance and unbelievably stupid regardless of the 'heat of the moment' etc.

A few wingers won't go a miss as I'm convinced by Paton out there if Aluko or Pawlett are injured. Defenders would have to be top priority but encouraged by McGhee actively seeking (hopefully!) creative and exciting players!

I would agree with most of that. Although I thought that Pawlett had an awesome opening 20 mins and faded out a bit from there on. He had the Papac in his pocket despite that though! Never seen a truer statement about the ref. Just completely went crazy after the sending off. Even the hun I spoke to said it was never a sending off and never seen such an abysmal performance!

Yes. Him and Pawlett had the two Saints full backs in their pockets and were central to pretty much everything we created for the first 30 minutes before the whole team stepped down a gear and let St Johnstone play. Aluko then got injured while he was tracking back and helping Mulgrew.

He did have a very good opening 30 mins in that game, as like every other individual in the team, let their performances drop. And he got injured and went off at half time. No doubt, the upheavel in management team took an affect on him, much like it has every other player in the squad, not to mention his injuries and international call ups has affected him and that is understandable. Slowly, much like every other player in the squad, he seems to be settling down and responding to McGhee's new methods. Once he gets fit again, hopefully he can get a decent run of games under his belt and with him and Pawlett on either side, the future is bright, the future is red.

If McDonald has completely taken his shirt off and waved around his head a la Barry Nicolson style, then he deserves to get his second yellow and be sent off. However, if he has lifted his shirt over his head a la Fabrizio Ravanelli, to get a yellow for that is completely ridiculous. Maybe it's more for a personal point of view from McDonald, as he has had a rotten season so far.
