  1. Scratching ASC on walls all over the place. Ah great days!
  2. I've only managed to watch a handful of games in full online this season, the rest has all been the YouTube highlights and the post match analysis in the papers and on here. But from what ive seen and read, most critical rhis January is at least one experienced CB. Rubi and Molloy are too inexperienced to be together at the same time, and they seem to be directly responsible for at least one goal each game at the moment. An experienced CB alongside a rotating Rubi/Molloy could work. MacDonald has the experience but has all the confidence of a long country walk after a plate of undercooked prawns. And we seem to have a cast of a thousand pisspoor #9's. It's often slim pickings in the January window, but we need to probably spend a fair bit of our Miovski winnings and land ourselves a decent striker. Nisbet doesn't get enough game time, Sokler struggles, Ambrose makes Leon Mike look like Messi, and I simply don't believe Pape will find his early season form particularly with the rest of the squad in its current slump
  3. Exactly. Anyone considering the move from Pittodrie to Ibrox should go and have a wee chat with David Robertson first to see what happens
  4. EPL and Champions League are rammed down our throats by the Aussie and Kiwi media, particularly the EPL. Here in NZ, sports headlines regularly get dominated by Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Chelsea, and whoever Chris Woods is playing for at the time. Go to any A-League game and, whilst you'll see a LOT of home tops, you will also see a wide sprinkling of tops from across Europe ... I wore my scotland top to the last Auckland FC game as it's the only blue sports top I own. But what I'm eventually getting at is football is "liked" over here. It's not loved like it is back home, and that's reflected in the crowds. It is still a pro sport in its infancy here, there's no "my father's father was a season ticket holder" situations yet, and whilst there is an element of die-hard fans who love going for a good ol sing-song, the majority "like football" and go along to games when it's fashionable to do so.
  5. Problem is these games are being played in Rugby League stadiums. The NRL attracts decent crowds. Despite football being huge at junior level in Australia and NZ, the A League still struggles with attendances. I don't know the answer to it, and suspect Auckland attendances will fall away to around 10k once their crazy run ends
  6. Not a single mention of Neil Warnock. Even the Chairman is trying to erase all memory of that Hun prick
  7. Marcus Younis? Think he plays in the PSV reserves
  8. Watched the extended highlights of this game the other day. So.ething that struck out to me was every single Celtic corner, they had someone pushing Doohan into the nets. Looked like the ref picked this up once. But I remember seeing this in the 6-0 and the 2-2 draw as well. Is this legit? Can they do this? Seems highly suss to consistently target taking out the keeper in every corner kick
  9. 1-0 defeat against a ridiculously expensive celtic team was to be expected. Draws against the Edinburgh teams should not be sniffed at as they are fighting for every scrap. The defeat vs St Mirren was the real shock in all this. We need to get back to winning ways this weekend though to avoid the team settling into a negative mental slump. I think we can take this 2-0, Sokler, Besuijen
  10. Mt Smart is supposedly a 25,000 capacity stadium for sports. Its predominantly a rugby league stadium (home to thr Warriors who are part of the NRL) but has been picked up by Auckland FC for the A-League. I wasn't at today's game but watched it on the tele. Was at last week's game vs Newcastle It's not often in life you get to watch the birth of a brand new football team in a "top" league, including the swell of crowds week on week, the creation of fanzones, the invention of brand new terrace songs ... I'm really enjoying watching them create something out of nothing.
  11. One of his first games foe us, he did his trademark somersault ... when someone else scored But yeah that Dens hattrick was him at his cocky best
  12. The Dundee Derby could be good. Both are tough to beat right now
  13. 20 years ago the world lost The Moroccan Magician, Hicham Zerouali Met him a couple of times in the kebab shop on Bridge Street, always happy to talk to Dons fans. Imagine how he would've been under JT's guidance!
  14. Yeah so apparently I need to get my eyes checked
  15. Huns vs Fraserburgh. They won't have far to travel, given the sheer volume of huns in Peterhead I'd fancy Clydebank and Brechin City to provide upsets ... and would LOVE Killie to catch Celtic napping
  16. Even managed an apostrophe in the right place. I expected him to use "Their" twice
  17. I'm not listening/watching, but I'd say minimum 4 times
  18. I would not be bothered if any/all of the ones you mention go out on loan or even sold/released. They're journeymen who turn up once every 4 or 5 games, at best. Next month will be JT's first real chance to start showing what he can do in the transfer market. I would not be surprised if we see JT returning to the Scandinavian market - his last few windows at IF Elfsborg seemed to have a consistent theme of him bringing Swedish-born players back from overseas. Maybe worth looking at centrebacks at Elfsborg who'll be at or reaching the end of their current deals, such as Gustav Henriksson, or even an older head such as Sebastian Holmén who can help to steady the defence and provide a education for the likes of Rubi and Molloy
  19. We need a couple of them. Rubi has become a bombscare. Angus is just not up to it. Molloy is okay but needs a competent defensive partner to learn from. What's Pollock up to now?
  20. I worked in a pub in Corstorphone that used to be run by ex-Jambo Dave Cluney. Place used to be absolutely rammed with Hearts fans cos he banned all Hibees. Fair to say I met my fair share of absolute scumbags, but also met some decent Jambos who loved a bit of banter, esp when they found out I was a Dandie Then Cluney left, and almost overnight the place became a Hibees hangout. Equally, they had just as many absolute scumbags... but a distinct lack of decent folk.
  21. Now i'm all for the co-efficient yadder yadder when the likes of Hibs, Killie, Motherwell or whoever are playing in Europe. But you sure can't beat seeing Celtic, Rangers2012 and Hearts doing shite in Europe
  22. I hope you ate more than your fair share of free sausage rolls, and hit Hibs bank balance where it really hurts
  23. Ah that'd make sense. "Two Jabs" aftermath was priceless. I remember a Java game that did the rounds on email back in the day, where you had to land as many eggs on Prescott's face before he punched you
  24. Aye exactly. It's easy to forget that this was always gonna be a 3 year project. Will be very interesting to see what JT does in the January window. He's got an eye for who to replace and when during game time. Does he also have an eye for what area of the team needs surgery?
