  1. I beg to differ. There is a countdown timer that commences the moment any Aberdeen player with "potential" is touted to a big club. This countdown timer last approximately three years, and by the end of those three years they are booed off the park by the Aberdeen fans for being so ineptly shite.
  2. As usual, Aberdeen have failed to capitalise. Zander was at his most sellable about three or four years ago. At that time, rumours were flying around about him moving to other clubs. Now that we cannae stand him and he's become a bit of a donkey (an out of contract donkey at that) we are set to lose him for nothing. Can't Plymouth take him off our hands for $300k?
  3. What the fuck is the point in actively hunting for out-of-contract players if ye ken full well that yer nae gonna sign them because "We're almost at full complement in terms of staff"? Fkn waste of everyone's time.

Ant & Dec produced the King's Speech?
  5. I was quite excited by thon Finnish midfielder fae Brondby. Cannae understand why Brondby wouldnae make their captain a full-time player though! They're pretty much a permanent fixture in the Europa league.

I did start watching Scott Pilgrim vs The World, and I think I quite enjoyed it. I think it might've been the russian subtitles, or the fact all the seats in the lounge were taken and I had to sit/lie on the floor, but I fell asleep about half way through. I've never really grabbed the opportunity to watch it the rest of the way thru

There were some bits in Social Network that I quite enjoyed Gretchen: 18,000 dollars? Eduardo Saverin: Yes. Gretchen: In addition to the $1,000 you'd already put up? Eduardo Saverin: Yes. Gretchen: A total of $19,000 now? Eduardo Saverin: Yes. Mark Zuckerberg: Hang on. [Mark sarcastically adds up the 2 amounts on his notepad] Mark Zuckerberg: I'm just checking your math on that. Yes, I got the same thing.

    Comedians

Each to their own, I suppose. I crack up at observational comedy. Billy Connolly made a massive career out of observational comedy, and these days the likes of Michael McIntyre and Jimeon certainly keep me entertained with what they observe.
  9. Just read in the Evening Depress that Brown is looking to add to the squad soon with at least one currently-out-of-contract player. So I found a list of prominent European players who are currently out of contract. Who do you reckon from this list? (BTW this list is from a random site, so I can't guarantee that all players are currently unattached): Goalkeepers Antti Niemi Damien Rascle Dida Jimmy Walker Luke McCormick Magnus Hedman Michael Oakes Defenders Arjan de Zeeuw Ben Thatcher Calum Davenport Cedric Uras Celestine Babayaro Chris Innes Chris Lucketti Christian Panucci Franck Queudrue Franck Matingou Gonzalo Sorondo Jorge Andrade Lauren Liam Rosenior Mamadou Seck Marko Babic Matthew Edile Michael Ball Mo Camara Moritz Volz Olivier Bernard Radhi Jaidi Rui Marques Sol Davis Sylvinho Toni Kallio Wayne Thomas Yassin Moutaouakil Midfielders Andranik Teymourian Andy van der Meyde Astrit Adjarevic Brahim Hemdani Camel Meriem Denilson Didier Agathe Eduardo Gaspar Gareth Williams George Boateng Herold Goulon Jermaine Wright Laurent Robert Lee Keun-Ho Makhtar NDiaye Matt Holland Matt Piper Miguel Angel Angulo Modeste Mbami Ousmane Dabo Phillip Mulryne Quinton Fortune Rob Brady Robbie Foy Sam Dalla Bona Stelios Giannakopoulos Yildiray Basturk Strikers Berlin Ndebe-Nlome Carl Asaba Cherno Samba Cristian Tudor Dwight Yorke Francis Jeffers Guillermo Franco Ilan Jeremie Aliadiere Malcolm Christie Mark Viduka Mateja Kezman Michael Mifsud Mido Nathan Lowndes Patrick Suffo Robbie Winters Robert Flik Shabani Nonda Shefki Kuqi Stefan Moore Stern John Tam McManus Tore Andre Flo Zoltan Harsanyi
  10. What is it with us playing Motherwell vs Dons fans shouting abuse at the Dons players? Mind the game you and I were at, BB. It was at Fir Park just after the Euro game in Berlin. Probably the best game I ever saw Eric (and to that matter, Patrizio Billio) play in a red shirt. Despite ripping the 'Well midfield apart, Bisconti missed one tackle. Some arsehole stands up behind us and shouts "Bisco, fuck off back tae Belgium ya dick!". I seem to remember you just about lamping that guy
  11. One of the few natural-world documentaries that I've been glued to. Other worthy contenders include "Earth: The Power Of The Planets" and "Stephen Hawking: The Story Of Everything"
  12. Jock Brown was shit. Looking through the RedTV archives, I'm shocked at how many matches he commentates on. He just doesn't care for Aberdeen at all. There's a Celtic vs Aberdeen game where Booth and Jess ripped the Tims a new arsehole in a fantastic display of counterattacking football. Stevie Fulton was just breaking into the Celtic squad (to give you an idea of the approx year of the game). Brown's commentary was unbelievably biased to the point that he basically said it was a disaster when Aberdeen scored. But yer right, tlg1903. McPherson wasnae the worst, but his commentary was absolutely bonkers towards the end of his career. "The Rangers defence has ossified" ... like yer average fan watching a Rangers match on the tele is gonna have a clue what you've just said, Archie.
  13. Saw in the news that it's likely that McNamee will just miss the Dunfermline match. Just in time, as Consi is suspended for next week's game (suspension doesn't count for this week's game as it's a different competition)
  14. Nah nah. It's a stat that Archie MacPherson rolled out as kickoff loomed against the huns at Pittodrie four years ago. Of course, back then it was 50 years
  15. I liked Deloumeaux. Cool, calm, collected, and ALWAYS ripped Motherwell a new arsehole whenever we played them
  16. Seems to me that Mackay is simply the current version of John Viola. At the end of the 2001-02 season, Viola was the agent of six Aberdeen players. All six players were refusing to sign new contracts at the end of 01/02. Viola was an absolute cretin back then - out to make as big a coin for himself without any real regard for the players he represents. I just about threw up when I looked at John Viola's website and realised his "agency team" now includes Gordan Petric and Craig Moore.
  17. Ah well, nae quite true. Mackie starts hitting the back of the net whenever his contract is up for renewal. Robbie Winters' most prolific season was the one before he left us. Same goes for Severin before he signed a contract extension with the Dons - he was playing some pretty magnificent stuff in the lead-up to that contract renewal. Soon as he signed on, he gave up
  18. I got some right dodgy looks last time I sang that song, haha.
  19. Guntveit moved to Brann four months before Pele and Shearer were appointed. As for Bisconti, the problems with him and his French-speaking kids had already been rumbling on long before the new management team arrived. As with most of the squad that Pele inherited, Bisco was at his best in the 01-02 season where he commanded the midfield in such a way that he even made Darren Young look like a footballer
  20. Should've cashed in on Celtic's Diamond-interest two years ago when we had the chance.
  21. Thing is, we've got plenty vile, hate-filled (yet non-sectarian) songs about Rangers. However, I don't think we have any such songs that we can sing against Ra Shellick. Reckon we need to create some songs to get right up the noses of those fake Irish dickheads.
  22. HTC Desire is a pretty sweet phone. I've got the Samsung Galaxy s9000, and it's the bee's.

WTF? Indeed Bana is not in The Fighter. Why did I get that idea stuck in my head??? Oh well. I'll still go and see it
  24. So we do! Sunday 20th March at 12:45. Dunno how the Beeb missed that one: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/a/aberdeen/fixtures/default.stm Cannae see the Rangers game in there at all. Okay, enough time for Blackman, Smith and Milsom to get used to the way we play, and enough time for Shauney O'Luko to recover. And it's Rangers at Pittodrie ... can never predict that result
  25. My old flatmate in Edinburgh is a hun. She always brings up the story of how she was in Franklyn's Piano Bar in Aberdeen in the late 90s, and snogged Duncan Shearer. She woke up the next morning with a huge cold-sore on her lip. Nice one Shearer. Spreading herpes amongst the huns since 1992
