I'm hoping we keep Diamond, Langfield, Fyvie, Pawlett, Paton, Maguire and (tinhat) Foster. If we can punt anyone else for cash, then I'd bite the buyers hand off. Otherwise, I'm more than happy for us to get rid of the rest for nowt, safe in the knowledge that they will no longer be Aberdeen FC employees. However, with his new squad, McGhee is not going to have any excuses to hide behind. If we're sitting in 7th-place or worse by November, and already out of one cup, then we have to bite the bullet and get rid of him.
-
Oh FFS. Nine points off relegation, with all the teams below us in-form! That is worrying. No league-expansion will save us this term. The only that's gonna fix this is binning McGhee and hoping that the successor is marginally better.
-
Never know. Dundee won't be in the 1st Division next year, so we've got a chance. Then again ... ALL the other teams who've knocked us out of the cups in recent years will be in 1st division next year, so it's nae even a given that we'll survive. Oh FFS, get rid of McGhee now.

Is it?? Aye, 3.30 kick off Fit channel is it on?
-
Aye, but the worst place on earth when yer spaced oot, min! Hehe.

As much as I dinnae like (and have never liked) Falkirk, they are nowhere near as irritating and shite as Killie. I'll be glad if Killie disappeared down the relegation toilet this season. They've been in the SPL for faaaaaaar too long. They need to be brought back down to their rightful level amongst the likes of Hamilton, Falkirk, Dunfermline, St Johnstone, Partick, etc ... ie the clubs that will have one season in the lofty heights of the top six, then piss aff back down the SPL and into the 1st or 2nd division for a wee while ... only to return to the SPL after robbing every other 1st division club of their best talents. To be honest, I think Dundee are a bigger club (even pre-Melville) than Killie will ever be, and are probably more deserving of a longer sustained period in the SPL. I'd like to see either Dundee or even Ross County in the SPL. Infact .... bin Killie, Falkirk and Hamilton, and replace them with Dundee, Caley and Ross County. It would save the Red Army an absolute fortune each season!

Is it??

Nah min. Yer thinking of Darren Mackie. Fyvie is the new Paul Scholes. Paton is the new Wayne Rooney. Derek Young is the new Darren Young. And Ifil is the new .... Kombouare, lol

Bluetones - Slight Return

Agreed. £16 for a 1st Division game?? Daylight robbery! Foran's a friggin timebomb. Maybe he's calmed down a bit now. But with McGhee's squad having a very high tendency for being sent-off, I cannae see Foran lasting any longer on the park at Aberdeen than yer regular run-of-the-mill Nigel Pepper.

I agree ... you never change your colours. Two weeks ago I said to myself "right, that's it. I've had enough of the Dons. I'm just not gonna bother with them anymore. Sick tae death of them depressing me with their shite jeckyll & hyde shite. Enough's enough. No more!" Sure enough, Sunday morning (NZ time) I was checking the Aberdeen scores.

Mark McGhee admits interest in Jimmy's Dross
Reekie_Red replied to dave_min's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I reckon we should sign Smith. Whilst we're at it, lets have Scotty Booth back again. And whilst we're on that topic, let's see what Paul Bernard is up to. :hammer: This sorta talk of interest by McGhee is making me wish we'd take a leap out of Celtic's books and just bin McGhee now in the hope that we've got a summer and-a-little-bit-more to get the new gaffer in, get the team playing properly again, and get some decent players in .... not a Smith who has spent all but 3.5 games in the treatment room since he left us, and keeping Kerr - one of the players who the Red Army currently loathe with a passion. Get someone in who is gonna get this squad ticking once again. Get someone in who can stand up and say "Kerr, yer a nae bad player, but ye couldnae lead a donkey to a carrot. Zander, you're captain now!". -
Lenny Kravitz - Believe (acoustic) ... found this very tinny sounding recording of Lenny, from what sounds like it's recorded in a living room or a garage or something like that. Awesome rendition!
-
Might be controvoishal, but I think we must sign this boy.

Cerby County? Still a bigger club than all non-OF clubs. -
He's got to get rid of the deadweight that's been sitting around doing fuckall for too long. The only players I'd possibly keep would be Clangers, Diamond, Mulgrew (purely for set-pieces, nothing else), Young, Fyvie, Paton and Pawlett. Reel Maguire back in from his loan spell. Get rid of the rest.

I think i'm with this idea. Infact, relegation could only be made better for us if roy castle blew the tune on his trumpet. Relegation ... Ooh relegation. Relegation, that's what we need. Anyway. I've no doubt that fans would still turn up in decent numbers if we did well in div1. My only worry is that div1 is full of teams who regularly embarass us in the cups. What if they humiliate us in the league too? Doubt we could survive more than one season out of the spl

You know the worst thing? None of the fans actually look like they care enough to protest against the current circumstances. Previously, even small pockets of fans could be found outside the Main Stand, waiting to boo Milne, but grab Darren Mackie's autograph on the way. Now, though, I see absolutely no anger within the fans, nobody willing to stand up and say "enough! stop ripping the heart and soul out of our club". To me, it seems the fans, just like everyone else, aren't really that fussed if the club disappears. Could we be entering the final chapter in the history of Aberdeen Football Club?

Kelt, I love yer glass-half-full attitude. At least someone has something to smile about at Aberdeen :-)

Speak for yersel, min. Scantily-clad wimin jiggling their assets at us is my idea of entertainment

20th March - New Supporters Group Meeting
Reekie_Red replied to Reekie_Red's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
We can speculate by looking around at what is actually happening in the real world. Surely they don't just talk and talk and talk and talk in the boardroom. Surely decisions are made now and then. When did you last see anything pro-fans coming out of the Aberdeen Football Club boardroom in the past ten years? I can't remember anything other than the centenary year, and that was organised by a specialist committee. Therefore, CG in my view is not worth his place on the board. -
Bah, statistics and miniskirts. It's not a six-game season. What really counts is the fact that we've still got a 10 point gap on the currently-bottom team.
-
Still would've had to pay the old management team out of their contracts. Wish we had money to do that. Unfortunately, we've only got a multimillionnaire running the club.
-
Agreed. Everyone on the park has to deal with the shit surface. It's not as if the shit surface only follows one player around!

Craig Brown - McGhee...watch and learn
Reekie_Red replied to BigRed's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Scott Severin - Free, but one of the highest paid Dons players of all time Barry Nicholson - £250,000 Steve Lovell - £250,000 Lee Miller - again free, but in the highest-paid-players bracket ... and JC was given a warchest of £650,000 of private investment to try to get Miller's signature in previous seasons Jimmy was given plenty of money to play with. On the other hand, he did actually qualify for Europe with these players, so there is an obvious co-relation between speculating to accumulate! -
I say back McGhee. Give him a chance with his own squad. But also give him a free swing of the axe to clear out ANY players he doesn't want ... that includes players who still have contract terms to see out.
