  1. That one highlighted bit has finally turned me against McGhee. These are the same men who've gone one win in thirteen matches! There is probably five players I'd keep, the rest MUST MUST go in the summer. If McGhee is even contemplating giving everyone a lifeline, then he has basically said it's okay for them to go a whole season of playing shite, so long as they don't finish in last place. Goodbye McGhee. You've finally lost this dandy's faith. GTF out of this club.
  2. August 1st, pishup in Dunfermline/Partick/Kircaldy/etc to celebrate our return to the country's 2nd tier league-division since 1905.
  3. It'll be interesting to see how he fairs in midfield. Let's face it, he's not a striker!
  4. Unfortunately most of the current squad are happy to sit pretty picking up the "Aberdeen-wage", whilst knowing full well that Aberdeen really cannot afford to let them go regardless of how poorly they play ... see Kerr/Grassi being offered new deals. With Falkirk picking up three more points yesterday, we are now only two poor weeks away from sitting in last place. St Mirren, Killie, and Falkirk are all fighting well at the moment, and I actually EXPECT to see us sitting on the bottom of the league come the final week of the season. I think we'll escape relegation by the skin of our teeth, but it will only be because those players who got us into that position will suddenly sit up and actually perform to the level we all know they are capable of.
  5. VERY VERY much doubt that Aluko will be here next season either. He's got no interest in being at Aberdeen at the moment. He's doing nothing for us, and we're doing nothing for him. He'll move for a pittance, and come November McGhee will be saying "I wouldn't have been sacked if Aluko hadn't been sold by the board"
  6. Crock of shit. Since leaving us, Calderwood has had nothing but praise for Aberdeen FC. Michael Gannon spouting his thoughts in a news article... excuse me mate, just stick to reporting the facts instead of reporting what you think people might be thinking. Unless you want to be an agony aunt. But then, Joey Harper's already got that gig sewn up.
  7. A. Miller 43 11 13 19 25.58 McGhee 34 8 10 16 23.53 That's a sad statistic
  8. Gary Clail - Human Nature (fuckin aweful song)
  9. Metallica coming to Auckland in November. Might have to be quick on the old dog&bone for tickets for that gig. Nae seen them since the Big Day Out in Milton Keynes in 1997, and they were easily the best band I've ever seen live. SERIOUSLY high octane performance!!
  10. Surely that's got to be the last we see of Grassi. Sure, it was a nasty deflection. But the lad's nae exactly endeared himself to the fans, mask or nae mask. McGhee is looking like a man running out of ideas. At least Ebbe didn't blame injuries or the players or the fans. Ebbe just kept trying different things. Hell, he even took a wage-cut to show how his dedication towards turning the Dons around. McGhee just seems to blame everything but himself. If its not the players as a whole, it's one individual player he points the fingers at. If it's not the weather, it's the state of the pitch. If it's not injuries, it's the fans. Anyone but him!! I hate to tell you Mark, but that squad of players did perfectly well against Hearts and Celtic not too long ago. You cannot blame the departure of Lee Miller for the poor results either, cos Miller wasn't exactly the all-conquering striker that you are making him out to be. You are very lucky in the fact that the board have bought into the "transitional season" shite that you've been spurting this season. But, come November, if we're off the pace for top-four, and are out of any one of the two cups, you'd better start looking for a new job!
  11. Gonna go for 5. Paterson will not be back at Aberdeen. But I reckon we might surprise everyone and get MacLean and O'Brien in the summer. McGhee will grab at least one more former Motherwell player, and grab a couple more from the lower reaches of England.
  12. I'm hoping we keep Diamond, Langfield, Fyvie, Pawlett, Paton, Maguire and (tinhat) Foster. If we can punt anyone else for cash, then I'd bite the buyers hand off. Otherwise, I'm more than happy for us to get rid of the rest for nowt, safe in the knowledge that they will no longer be Aberdeen FC employees. However, with his new squad, McGhee is not going to have any excuses to hide behind. If we're sitting in 7th-place or worse by November, and already out of one cup, then we have to bite the bullet and get rid of him.
  13. Oh FFS. Nine points off relegation, with all the teams below us in-form! That is worrying. No league-expansion will save us this term. The only that's gonna fix this is binning McGhee and hoping that the successor is marginally better.
  14. Never know. Dundee won't be in the 1st Division next year, so we've got a chance. Then again ... ALL the other teams who've knocked us out of the cups in recent years will be in 1st division next year, so it's nae even a given that we'll survive. Oh FFS, get rid of McGhee now.
  15. Is it?? Aye, 3.30 kick off Fit channel is it on?
  16. Aye, but the worst place on earth when yer spaced oot, min! Hehe.
  17. As much as I dinnae like (and have never liked) Falkirk, they are nowhere near as irritating and shite as Killie. I'll be glad if Killie disappeared down the relegation toilet this season. They've been in the SPL for faaaaaaar too long. They need to be brought back down to their rightful level amongst the likes of Hamilton, Falkirk, Dunfermline, St Johnstone, Partick, etc ... ie the clubs that will have one season in the lofty heights of the top six, then piss aff back down the SPL and into the 1st or 2nd division for a wee while ... only to return to the SPL after robbing every other 1st division club of their best talents. To be honest, I think Dundee are a bigger club (even pre-Melville) than Killie will ever be, and are probably more deserving of a longer sustained period in the SPL. I'd like to see either Dundee or even Ross County in the SPL. Infact .... bin Killie, Falkirk and Hamilton, and replace them with Dundee, Caley and Ross County. It would save the Red Army an absolute fortune each season!
  18. Nah min. Yer thinking of Darren Mackie. Fyvie is the new Paul Scholes. Paton is the new Wayne Rooney. Derek Young is the new Darren Young. And Ifil is the new .... Kombouare, lol
  19. Bluetones - Slight Return
  20. Agreed. £16 for a 1st Division game?? Daylight robbery! Foran's a friggin timebomb. Maybe he's calmed down a bit now. But with McGhee's squad having a very high tendency for being sent-off, I cannae see Foran lasting any longer on the park at Aberdeen than yer regular run-of-the-mill Nigel Pepper.
  21. I agree ... you never change your colours. Two weeks ago I said to myself "right, that's it. I've had enough of the Dons. I'm just not gonna bother with them anymore. Sick tae death of them depressing me with their shite jeckyll & hyde shite. Enough's enough. No more!" Sure enough, Sunday morning (NZ time) I was checking the Aberdeen scores.
  22. I reckon we should sign Smith. Whilst we're at it, lets have Scotty Booth back again. And whilst we're on that topic, let's see what Paul Bernard is up to. :hammer: This sorta talk of interest by McGhee is making me wish we'd take a leap out of Celtic's books and just bin McGhee now in the hope that we've got a summer and-a-little-bit-more to get the new gaffer in, get the team playing properly again, and get some decent players in .... not a Smith who has spent all but 3.5 games in the treatment room since he left us, and keeping Kerr - one of the players who the Red Army currently loathe with a passion. Get someone in who is gonna get this squad ticking once again. Get someone in who can stand up and say "Kerr, yer a nae bad player, but ye couldnae lead a donkey to a carrot. Zander, you're captain now!".
  23. Lenny Kravitz - Believe (acoustic) ... found this very tinny sounding recording of Lenny, from what sounds like it's recorded in a living room or a garage or something like that. Awesome rendition!
