  1. And the honestly expect the average Gorgie/Sighthill resident to be able to read that many words?

Do you know how to do a screenshot? When you go to the arcade, press the "Print Scrn" button on your keyboard. Now open any graphics program, such as "paint". Paste the contents of the clipboard into a NEW picture and save the image as either a .gif, .jpg or .bmp. Can you do this and email me your screenshot? reekie_red at hotmail.com
  3. Ye coulda at least tried to dress up a bit, Jim. Good to see this sorta stuff. If the youth system is gonna produce more players like Pawlett and Paton, then I'm all for chucking money at that rather than some unknown foreign player who's no better than the shite we've already got here.
  4. OR .... Stillie Buchan, Tzvetanov, Inglis, Woodthorpe [shudder]

Hmmmm. What browser you using, snapper? Have you recently upgraded to IE8 by any chance?
  6. How the fuck did a Celtic fan survive on The Y ?? Doubt he would've got out alive after the final whistle
  7. Yeah I saw the headline on Abz-Mad. Got a chuckle outa me, anyway
  8. I'm in agreement with you there, Azteca. Spiers, if anything, writes favourably towards the east-coast teams. He writes very fairly, in particular, about Aberdeen and Dundee Utd. I've never read an unjust harsh word from him about us. Yes he says some harsh stuff, but it is always justified ... unlike Keevins and Traynor who just just spurt garbage about us for the sake of pissing us off.
  9. I didn't quote GD regarding the current team. I quoted him because he was one person on this board that thought we'd sign Hughes.
  10. Hmmm. A very quick search found this ... I thought we'd get him too. So that's two people for starters. You give up too easily. Like I've already said since the defeat, we played the league's strongest side, who have just hired a Premiership-class manager and several £multi-million signings. If you put yer toys back in the pram during the second half, you would've seen that we actually played some decent football. Whether or not Celtic took their foot off the gas, they were still the same 18 players selected by Tony Mowbray to get the club off to a winning start. Remember, our much-heralded 4-2 win over Celtic last season came when they were definitely not firing on all cylinders! You wouldn't dare devalue that win, would you? There's ten other clubs in the SPL that get to play this season. I reckon we're gonna do alright. Clearly you think otherwise, but that's the difference between a glass-half-full supporter and a glass-half-empty supporter.
  11. Our next three are against Hamilton, Motherwell and Falkirk. Even coasting in first gear, Celtic are streets ahead of these teams. I stand by my judgment. If we play against these three teams the way we did in the 2nd half vs Celtic, we'll get 9 points.
  12. Miller should be fighting for a move away from Aberdeen this season. He's got a number of clubs with one eye on him. I suppose his history is to play for whoever offers him the most cash. But I'd like to think we'd bite Middlesbrough's hand off if they offered £700k. Reckon McGhee would be able to do plenty with that.
  13. Bullshit. He has been working his best to try to get the likes of Hughes, He tried his best to negotiate deals for Hughes, Paterson and Maclean. Hell, he even missed one of our pre-season matches to go to Paris to try to thrash out a deal with Reda Johnson. As Willie Miller stated towards the end of July, Aberdeen and the SPL in general is no longer an attractive option for players. The SPL's talented players have gone to Championship teams. The SPL's half-decent players have gone to League One teams. All we can hope for is to try to pick up the best of League Two equivalent players. Even then, we are struggling to match the wages of some League Two sides. This is not McGhee's fault. But then, you wouldn't see this as your knives are already out for him.
  14. From what I saw of us in the 2nd half against Celtic, I reckon we've got a good chance of taking 9 points from the next 3 games.
  15. So it was McGhee's fault that he has Young, Duff, Maguire, Mackie and Considine in his squad? It was McGhee's fault that he couldn't afford his 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th choice signings? Get a grip, min. We fielded an Aberdeen side that had lost three first-team players and gained only one. We happened to play the team that were not only pipped to the SPL title on the final day last season, but have spent close to eight figures hiring a Premiership-class manager and building a squad that they hope will NOT be beaten to the title this season. At least McGhee figured out early doors that Duff was being skinned at every opportunity and decided to, firstly, move him up the park and, secondly, take him off completely. I doubt we'll see Duff play very much in the future tbh.
  16. Exactly. Despite playing over 550 games, Willie Miller only managed 20 goals in a red shirt. Nobody doubts his captaincy. I'm willing to give Kerr the benefit of the doubt. There were only two or three players worthy of the Aberdeen jersey today, but I'd like to reserve my better judgment for the team once they've played everyone else.
  17. Agree wholeheartedly with that. Langfield, Aluko and Paton were superb in an otherwise completely inept performance from the Dons. Aluko took his goal brilliantly. Paton showed Maguire what a footballer looks like, and had a hand in just about every effort we had on goal. But Langfield's saves kept the score semi-respectable. It could've been a LOT more considering the commentator mentioned that Celtic had 28 shots on goal.
  18. Bobby, wtf is going in with your connection. You've logged in and logged out of the chatroom 20 times in the past minute

  20. Sorry for my ignorance, as we don't get much Highland League coverage in New Zealand. Who are the three new HL teams?
  21. Me too. Utd invested heavily in players last summer. However, despite us having a shite season by most Dons fans accounts, we still managed to finish above the Arabs! There's not actually that much that has changed this season, other than Seve departing, Ifil coming in, and Kerr becoming captain. If McGhee can figure out when 4-3-3 isn't working and switch to a 4-4-2 in a match, I reckon we should be okay this term.
  22. Unfortunately the money men in the city of Aberdeen who might be tempted to chuck some cash in the direction of Pittodrie are probably put off by the fact that so much money, including potentially lucrative share initiatives, have all been pissed down the drain over the past 15 years. Common ground throughout all these years and all the pissing down the drain is Stewart Milne. But there's the catch-22. Do we keep Milne, our benefactor, and risk losing out on so much investment from money-men who just don't trust Milne? Or do we ask Milne to step down and get new men to lead the club, and risk realising our worst fears that, with or without Milne, there really is nobody interested in investing heavily in Aberdeen FC.
  23. Good choice. My first choice would've been Zander, but Kerr is a very good choice nonetheless.
  24. Got to be Jerel (is it me or does that name sound like the name of some goblin king, or something?) But the only half-decent performance from Consi of late just so happened to come when he was paired with Ifil. Coincidence? Lets have Consi on the bench and make him realise that he's actually got to do something spectacular to get a starting berth this season
