  1. Not such a bad idea, mate. Get him and McGhee to pop their boots back on again, and we might actually have a bit of balls about us.
  2. We were banking on the Europa League for extra revenue this season. I reckon McGhee's team is gonna have to work wonders in both cups to make up for this defeat. Mind you, if Motherwell can score eight goals in Europe, surely tae fuck we can score five
  3. Reckon there's gonna be plenty of space in the stands for these banners. Remember, many are still deciding whether or not to purchase a season ticket. I reckon tonight's result will have made many fans' minds up
  4. One thing that I gained from that article was finding out that Hearts are £30.48m in debt. Holy shit!! How the fuck can they sustain that with an average gate of 14000
  5. I blame the recession and swine flu.
  6. Reckon The Scotsman were a bit dry on news stories that day.
  7. Afraid they'll be on the bench if Ricky Foster and Derek Young are both fit.
  8. The same way they persuaded the Bonetti brothers, Sara, Caniggia, di Marchi and Carranza to move to Dundee. World-class South American / Italian players: "What's good about Dundee?" Bonetti brothers: "A neverending supply of coccaine and whores" World-class South American / Italian players: "Where's that pen?"
  9. No it's not the worrying news you were all dreading that Willie Miller or Lee Miller has been sacked. Calm yourselves. Dust yourselves down. Prepare to laugh once again. Alex Miller, the buffoon who singlehandedly dismantled Aberdeen Football Club and set the club back by an entire decade whilst he laughed and drank wine at the table of the Scotland international coaches, has once again been sacked. This time, J-League relegation candidates JEF Unioted Chiba. Oh how I laugh in the face of this abomination of a man. I think Calderwood's hard work over the past few seasons has finally brought the club back on track after the shambles Miller created. Absolute wanker of the highest order.
  10. The point I was getting at CtS was Hibs and Hamilton are two of the few clubs who've actually received a bit of cash from outgoing players this summer, and they've both reduced their squad sizes so far. But the summer transfer window is a LONG LONG way off being closed, so aside from the preliminary Europa League rounds, we've got plenty of time to get players onboard. I'm nae panicking. The only real asset we've lost this summer is Severin because he was comfortable in defense AND midfield, and could rattle in a few timely goals when he could be bothered too. At least he's not gone to another SPL side! Smith was out injured for too long for us to really miss him. And Mair. Well, none of us were too fussed when he moved to St Mirren, were we? So really ... the only player that's left who we're going to miss is Severin. One capable defender in, and we should be sorted.
  11. Calm the heid, CtS. Look more closely at that list. Only Hearts and St Johnstone have taken in more players than they've released. Hibs, despite gaining £3m from the sale of Fletcher, have lost their most creative midfielder AND their captain, along with six others. In the process, they've gained two Falkirk rejects. Rangers haven't taken in anybody yet either, despite losing half a team. Hamilton?! They've lost EIGHT players whilst gaining a very old and decrepid Marvin Andrews who was probably at his best nine years ago. We're actually in not bad shape considering what's going on around us.
  12. I couldnae make the final as I was stuck doing an assignment for uni. But the commentary was fuckin aweful on the radio. I've never heard such an anti-Aberdeen commentary since Gerry McNee's days. When Doddsy's goal went in, the commentator screamed "and would you believe it? That's dreadful luck for Dundee. They've been in possession, lost it, and now they're a goal down". When Shearer's goal went in, the commentator said "and that's game over for Dundee. What a shame. They came here with so much promise" I'm like "umm, did Aberdeen score or what??"
  13. I've just read that Johnson turned out as a trialist on Saturday for Plymouth Argyle. I tell you, Plymouth must surely be able to outbid any Scottish club for whoever they want simply off the fact that they don't seem to have any sort of scouting system. Looks like they've saved a fortune by simply hiring someone to read the Sunday Mail once a week. Whoever Aberdeen are looking at, Plymouth decide to go for too. Get yer own fuckin signing targets, you wanks! "Wants to be in Scotland, Paul Sturrock wants to be in Scotland, wants to be in Scooooooootland"
  14. How long can it take to sign a free player from a French first division club? The Franz Fox Glacier moves faster than this transfer saga!
  15. You guys still experiencing problems starting a new topic?
  16. You guys still experiencing problems starting a new topic? I've just done an update on part of the site that should fix that problem. Let me know if you still encounter problems.
  17. Hmmm. Maybe he saves his best for the big teams, like what Kombouare. Our old French friend only showed his best when Rangers came to town. Maybe Bossu is the same. Maybe I'm just lucky not to have seen Bossu's Killie collapse
  18. I didnae see Bossu's Killie performance. But surely there's been worse from the likes of Tzvetanov or Kombouare. Tony Warner really springs to mind with this discussion. Didn't Warner let in something like 17 goals in his five Dons appearances?
  19. You sure about that? I've seen some pretty woeful performances by some pretty woeful players during the Aitken, Miller, Skovdahl and Paterson eras.
  20. I dunno. When he came on against The Great Unwashed of Govan back in January, he was pretty good. He had one slipup if I remember rightly, but a pretty good showing otherwise.
  21. Never read too much into friendly results ... unless it's an absolute tanking, in which case the friendly is a waste of time. It would've given McGhee the chance to test out a couple of formations, try out his first-choice team and also a few backup options. Ultimately, he'll have come out of this one knowing who he can rely on and who is shite. So long as we get it alright on the (next Thursday) night, I'll be happy.
  22. 4-3-3 will work if we have two effective wingers. Mackie and Maguire can play on the wing, but they ain't really wingers. Unless McGhee is planning on deploying the left and right forwards on the left and right edge of the box, rather than out on the wings. But that leaves us very thin on players on the wings.
  23. Beg to differ. They had already gained 35 of their total of 60 points when O'Donnell died. If anything, they gained less points per game on average after O'Donnell died than they did before. McGhee's proven at several clubs, not just Motherwell, that his first season in charge of a new club is moreoften than not the best season at that club. Therefore, I'm looking forward to this season with a certain degree of optimism. 2010/11 however ...
  24. Didn't know Kiraly was at 1860. He was the Hertha keeper when we played in Europe in 2002.
  25. I'll say. First home game of the season. Based on the preseason training we've seen in the pictures, the Dons ain't gonna run out of steam at any point throughout the game regardless of who the opposition is. We should win. If we show Fram or Sigma respect, we should get through. If we don't we'll be out of Europe before the SPL kicks off.
