  2. Watched [most of] the game courtesy of some bloke uploading the Setanta game to the pornonet, then me streaming it on my pornonet, then pluggin a cable into my tele and chuckin it on full-screen. It's the best Dons I've seen on the tele for five years, cos the last time the Dons were on NZ tele was 2003. Unfortunately, it was also one of the weakest most lacklustre performances I've ever seen from the Dons. They had something like 369 corners, yet you just felt that every single corner would come to nothing. How many times must McDonald balloon the ball into the stands before he understands that getting his foot under the ball is gonna send it skyward?! I mean, basic football skills! And WTF was Tommy playing at waving his hands around in the box?? It's okay for Maradonna and Zerouali to do it in the OPPOSITION box, but don't fuckin do it in yer own one! It's gonna take a hell of a performance from him to make the Red Army like him again. Aluko! All the tricks and backheels and stepovers in the world, and ye still cannae beat the first man. Get back to basics, min. Diamond ... solid performance from big Zander. He's starting to look as comfortable at the back as Anderson. Is he finally coming of age? Everybody else, gtf! It's all very well performing on the road, but it's the home support that pays yer wages. After that performance, I can see a lot of fans nae bothering for the next few weeks.
  3. Rednex - Cotton Eye Joe
  4. That's probably the best team we can field with what we've got at the moment. Glad that Aluko and Wright are both starting. Pleasantly surprised to see Mackie make way for Miller in the up-front pairing with Wright. Even more happy to see no place in the starting lineup for Mair or Duff.
  5. Probably the best strikeforce we have at the moment, tbh. Is Jamie Smith still injured?
  6. The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Hey Joe
  7. Yeah. And that certain someone used to front up and take the blame when it was his tactics and his player-choices that resulted in defeat. JC just seems to blame everybody else except himself. It's all very well JC telling the players to show the Pittodrie faithful that they are hurting just as much as the fans .... but since the defeat to Hamilton, I'm yet to see JC say sorry to anyone for the result. It's not the players who pick the team and formations!

I very clearly remember watching the Variety Performance that he died on. People cracking up with laughter cos he's saying "ooh, difficult to breath"
  9. And this from the man who vowed to show the Red Army just what he is all about this season. Waste of money, he's been. Another journeyman who nobody else wanted. Along with Duff and Mair.
  10. Nothing like having a level playing field for all players at kick-off, is there?! What's the point in Tommy going in for a 50-50 challenge, or using his physical strength to get to where he needs to be in the box. What's the point in him doing any of this if he knows that the refs have "already read up on him"? He's already been hung, drawn and quartered despite only playing an hour of football. I knew his past would make him a wanted man by the refs. FFS, it's like Lee Richardson!

  12. No but you have just gone up in my estimations!
  13. The only Ibrox disaster songs I've ever heard are ones that I've heard when absolutely pished and nowhere near a football ground. I've never heard these being sung at football grounds

Had a few chuckles at the Jim Jeffries guy (to be honest I was expecting the Killie manager to walk out and say "erm, well ... Gary Wales was great"). But certainly not laugh-a-line like Hicks was.
  15. ah! I get you now. Let me see if I can sort this wee thing out

I watched that guy's clips when you linked to them a few months ago, FJ. To be honest I wasn't that impressed with him. He was like the poor man's Bill Hicks, except without the same comedy element.
  17. Hmmm. I still don't get it.
  18. How long did we have terracing before Hillsbrough? 100+ years of standing at football matches, and there's one accident (albeit one helluva accident). It's been several years since I last stood on real football terracing. Brondby's stadium was probably the last one I was at. The last Scottish one was probably Dens Park in a bizarre match I went to see between Dundee and Montrose about 15 years ago (Billy Dodds played for Dundee). Terracing was excellent, and should be brought back in a day and age where football fans are now watched like a hawk through stadium security personnel, CCTV cameras and the police.
  19. As you may have noticed, DonsTalk now has the facility to embed YouTube videos into your posts (simply post the url of the video into your post ... no need for any coding either side of it!). Whilst this is proving to be a wonderful success in many areas of the forum, all users need to be aware of the following: Please refrain from posting any YouTube video containing any coverage of Aberdeen FC, either past or present. All AFC video material is copyright property of Aberdeen Football Club, regardless of where the video is located now. With their own RedTV system in place, displaying AFC video content on here is illegal and, most significantly, is direct competition to Aberdeen FC's own premium subscription content. In order that DonsTalk don't get hit with heavy copyright infringement fines, please refrain from posting AFC videos on the public forums of DonsTalk (various Pittodrie staff are known to frequent this site, so please don't try it!). If you really need to let someone know about a video you've seen, post it to them in a Private Message ... just not on the public forums, please!
  20. TBH I'd rather have 56 tins of Fosters than one Richard Foster. 56 tins of mildly drinkable pish is better than one pile of unbearable pish! On the stadium front, I can see us and Cove Rangers moving into a shared stadium. Then Cove Rangers will struggle to keep up appearances with the rent money and will merge with us to become ..... ABERDEEN RANGERS! I'm nae supportin that shite!
  21. I'm not quite sure what you mean, ST
  22. Faithless - God is a DJ
  23. Awesome. Okay, to embed a youtube video (works with heaps of other streaming content too, such as radio) simply paste the link into your text. No need to put any code at the start. Just place the link into your post.
  24. Testing ... testing
  25. FFS! When's the fat postie gonna retire/keel over? Who cares if it was a draw. It was a testemonial. I'm sure Manure could've pumped a lot more than two goals past us at the Gothenburg Testemonial. Fact of the matter is it wasn't their night, it was Aberdeen's night. Same goes for this match. It was Derek Milne's night, not Aberdeen's! We were just the glamour team that helped honour him as a player. Typical Fat Charlie twisting his doom and gloom into this result. Were you even there, Charlie??
