  1. Nae so much a family tree as a family stump!
  2. Porkheid - that fuckin pillar! Fir Hill - if you're sitting up the back of the Main Stand, you can see fuckall of the opposite half of the pitch. I remember a woeful defeat in the 2002/03 season when we were just absolutely shit. Most of the red army were housed in the North Stand, but a handful of us were chucked into the Main Stand. Worst match I've seen in a LONG LONG time. Not just for the performance by the Dons, but also because I could only see about two-thirds of the pitch. Section Y - anyone who's stood on The Y will vouch for me when I say that I've never seen the corner over between the Merkland and Main stands.

  4. Okay ... decision made. This is a feature that will be implemented over the coming few days
  5. Jimmy Nail - Aint No Doubt
  6. Bill Haley & His Comets - Shake, Rattle & Roll
  7. It's something that we hadn't really considered. But I'm looking into how to implement it just now. I'm also running it past the rest of the guys who run the site to see how they feel about it. It sounds like a brilliant idea. But we could run into trouble with AFC if people are tempted to post youtube videos of the Aberdeen highlights, for example. This is the one and only thing that is putting me off implementing this feature

    Andy Murray

Not surprised! Not exactly something any normal, sane human being would want to boast about. I was in a car crash about two years ago and killed a wee 5 year old girl who'd stepped out onto the road. Although for the first 48 hours the memory was so vivid in my mind, little over a week later I couldn't remember a thing about the accident. Something in my brain wanted to block it out and, to be honest, I don't really want to remember it ... hence why this is the first time I've spoken about it to anyone in the past 18 months. I can't imagine seeing my school pals being shot dead infront of me by my scout master. It's difficult enough to forget that sort of thing when you're a grown adult. But to have it happen to you when you're a primary school child, and know it will stay with you for the rest of your life is something I certainly do not envy.

    Andy Murray

I've never really taken much notice of the tennis - not really my kinda sport. I watch it now and then, and enjoy the odd game of Virtua Tennis. But I thought I'd do a bit of research into Andy Murray ... actually, I just wanted to see where he was from in Scotland. Never realised Murray was a kid from Dunblane Primary. According to Wikipedia, he kid under a desk during the massacre 12 years ago, and attended a number of after-school groups where Thomas Hamilton was the group leader. Must be a horrific thing to harbour in your memory for life!
  11. Being honest, it wasn't really his squads that he had the successes with. His success at Rangers was with a squad that was primarily Dick Advocaat's squad. His winning squad at Hibs was still hugely influenced by his predecessor Jim Duffy. Even at Motherwell, he experienced success with Tommy McLean's players. Once he started bringing in his own players, Motherwell started sliding down the table and narrowly avoided the playoffs in his final season. As good a player as he was, I don't have any faith in McLeish in a managerial capacity.
  12. Had a look at the AFC website to see where Mackie was from ... they've taken that bit off the squad profiles. But they do show the height and weight of all the senior players. Hodgkiss is 5'4" !! Friggin Oompa Loompa!
  13. George Harrison - Living In The Material World
  14. I went for 3rd. Hearts will be right up there. Killie will fall off the pace by November as injuries and suspensions kick in. It's gonna be REAL tough between us and Hearts. I think that pressure alone will see the gap between 3rd and 2nd be a lot closer than it has been in the past couple of seasons.
  15. I'll say. Why do the public need to know his address? I'm sure the Evening Times won't print Neil Lennon's address when he goes to court as defendant for the "assault" layed upon him by those nasty protestants. Looks like an absolute shite story. Miller pleaded not guilty, so the reporter decided to fill the rest of the space up with a history of Miller's playing career. Yeah, great "Crime Reporter" you are, Fiona!
  16. Kemnay! Chris Clark was/is from Inverurie
  17. They gave us Killie!
  18. True. I think that's how Jim Hamilton managed to move to Dunfermline. His contract got ripped up and he was effectively an unemployed footballer, so the Pars signed him on a trainee wage. Would still have been on more than Scott Booth was when he returned, lol
  19. What struck me about reading the news of this was the bit about how Aluko phoned Jimmy to say "I don't like it here at Blackpool. Can you sort something out for me to come back to Pittodrie?" So Jimmy phoned McLeish to ask if we could get him on-loan, to which McLeish said "no, but you can buy him for fifty grand". Fuckin dancer! A player with bags of talent who WANTS to play for Aberdeen!
  20. ROCK ON!! This is slowly shaping up to be an impressive team we've got. Mulgrew has impressed me with his performances so far. Kerr seems to be quite handy. And now when I read that Sone had returned, I actually punched the air in jubilation! This is the quality of player we should ALWAYS be looking at. To sign a CURRENT England youth international for three years is a major coup, especially since we know what he is capable of. His goal against Bayern was proof enough to me that he is the best striker we have by a country mile.
  21. Better fuckin not be. I mind shouting profanities at that goof one Saturday night in Edinburgh. Cunt had bleached-blonde Gazza-style hair. Wilson is a player who has come thru the ranks at Ibrox, got a name for himself purely on the basis that Rangers gave him a chance ... and has failed to live up to any sort of decent reputation with every club he goes to. What worries me is that he's currently at Dunfermline ... our feeder club! Mind you, that's unless you're talking about the other Scott Wilson, thon tall defender who's playing for Stranraer.
  22. Mate, whilst Jimmy is in charge, there is EVERY chance of us signing the other Vietnamese Boat Boy. But I am pretty confident that the three supposedly arriving at the end of this week are NOT going to have the surname of Young
  23. Just watchin the Pittodrie livecam now. I'm sure I see Andriy Shevchenko. Oh hang on. Nah, it's Stuart Duff
  24. Fuck, JC's about as subtle as a brick! Be interesting to see who the players are. I reckon the actual signing will be Lanzaat. Nae sure about the loan ... could it be Josh Walker again? No mention of the third though. But he's looking for two defenders, so probably not anyone like Gow.
