Today's P & J - Injury crisis and Scott Wilson
Reekie_Red replied to Drew Peacock's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I saw Scott Wilson in Edinburgh near the old Honeycombe night a few years ago. I saw him, shouted "HUN FUCK" and couldnae see him for the dust trail he left behind. That cunt better nae sign for us -
Stability? If there's one team we RRRRRREALLY need to be beating, it's United. It's all very well beating the Smurrens, Invernesses and Falkirks. But the one fixture outside the Rangers matches that captures the Red Army's imagination is the United match at Tannalice. There's something really special about that match that has the dandies headin down the road in their thousands for this fixture. To lose two on the bounce so convincingly is sore! And I think there'll be a lot of fans looking at the league matches coming up and saying "ach, I'll miss this one cos we'll probably lose it anyway. I'll save my money for the cup and Euro ties". And THAT is where it will sting the club in the coffers. To be so boring in the league matches is fatal from our point of view. Matches against Bayern will always be sellouts regardless of how we are fairing. But the league attendances (our bread and butter) are really gonna suffer with results like the one this weekend.

Yeah, but if what I've read is true, part of his new contract with the Dons was a clause basically saying the Dons cannot fire him if things take a turn for the worst this season. Fuck, that's basically him sweet for the remainder of the season. He can do what he wants. And then if we want to fire him for going ten games without a goal or a point or a clue, then we have to wait for next season. And then he's tied up for three years afterwards, so there's the good ol' release clause that sees us fork out another mill to ditch another useless manager. The United match is not the whole story. The United match is just the weight that finally tipped the scales for me. I've had enough of the "Boring Dons" headlines, and the "too many of our boys didn't show up today" quotes. How many of these headlines and quotes do we have to read before Calderwood actually does something about it? Willie, time to ditch yer loyalties to yer mate. If McGhee is willing to listen to the SFA about the Scotland job, I reckon he could be tempted by the Aberdeen job. McGhee excites me! Caldo does not.

Aberdeen keen on Everton's Vidarsson
Reekie_Red replied to Reekie_Red's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
True. I've sat and watched the Hyundai A-League quite a few times this season. I'm quite shocked at how bad some of the matches really are! If that's supposed to be Australia and New Zealand's best, then the SPL ain't so bad afterall. Honestly, I've seen better stuff going on down at Mineralwell Park in Stoney! That's the fucker!! ... and then there's our glorious tie-up with Melbourne, or was it Brisbane? Or perhaps it was Perth? Keith Wyness used his contacts in Australia from his "Olympic Company" days to foster ties to bring Australia's best talent over here. Who did we get? David Friggin Zdrillic. If that's Australia's best ... how come they made the World Cup finals and we didnae??? Melbourne? Paff!! Brisbane? Haevers!!! Perth? Dinnae make me laugh! We might as well have official ties with the Rabbit Flat Creek in Aussie's Northern Territory. Cos that tie produced the square root of fuckall for us. Whatever did happen to "Captain Africa", thon chappy who demanded that we sign him or he'd take his services elsewhere? You remember, the guy who seemed to play for every team we faced in our South African pre-season? The guy who couldnae afford an agent so just used himself as his own agent? The guy who whored himself to us, Dundee Utd, Livingston and Luton Town? I still think he's looking for a club ... but I cannae find his name -
Just read this on TribalFootball Anybody know anything about this loon?

All very well. But Hibs are now running at a complete profit! They have NO debt. This is a direct result of them selling their best assets for ten times their value! Us? We're the first non-Old Firm side to see European football past Christmas in God know's how long. But all the financial benefits from our most successful season in aaaaaaaaaaaages will still mean squat when we are still in the red and still servicing a huge debt. We desperately need a spin-doctor at Pittodrie who can up the value of our players using words alone. I'm of no doubt that the likes of Hart and Anderson are inifinitely better players than Murphy. Yet I was gutted when Anderson went for 1million. He was a player that we did NOT want to lose, a huge Aberdeen fan, and by a long long way our most consistent player. Yet we lost him for 1million. When Brown left for Ra Shellick, he didn't want to be at Hibs. Hibs didn't want him. And Hibs fans didn't even rate him as their best player. Yet how much did he and his mate go for? And don't even get me started on Craig Gordon. Yeah he's good. But 9million good? When we were looking to offload Langfield to Rangers, we were hoping for a ballpark figure of around 150k for him. For all his mistakes, I'd probably rate Langfield in the top three keepers currently playing in Scotland ... perhaps top two after his display against Dnipro. If both JC and WM have stated that we now need to be a selling club in order to operate at a profit, surely we should start actually SELLING our players instead of giving them away (a la Hart). We should not be waiting until 5 months before a player's contract is due to expire before we start talking to them. We should be speaking to them AT LEAST a year before their contract runs out. That way, if they do not sign a contract extension, we can place them on the market without fear of them signing a pre-contract agreement or losing them to the Bosman ruling in the summer.

Transfer news - Clark, Hart, Nicholson, Dobie, Bus latest
Reekie_Red replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
You'd look twice yer own age too if you'd been forced to live and work in Dundee since 1999! -
But he already charged about and gave 100% in his initial stint with us. Of that there was no doubt. But it wasn't his commitment and effort that made us nae too fussed to lose him. It was more the fact that, no matter how much effort he put into his game, he was still lacking in the quality required to play for AberdeenFC.

Is this the same Chris Clark who, during our 3-2 win over Rangers a couple of years ago, was in full knowledge that Rangers had just clawed back a two-goal deficit to draw level and looked the more capable side of scoring? We had a rare counter-attack and had men flooding forwards into the box. He had a choice of about five open players to pass to so, in his infinite wisdom, he punts the ball into the Main Stand thus conceding possession back to Rangers. Maybe Sturrock is getting CC mixed up with ZZ or Cisse, cos I'm one of many many Dons fans glad to see the back of Chris Clark. Only thing is, who is JC gonna pick first in the team now? -
£700,000 for Clark??? Setanta Sports News

This is the best news I've heard since Dunfermline took BOTH Young brothers off our hands -
Haha. Just_Chalky cracks me up. We're in the top six and only a couple of wins off top four. We're in the semis of one cup and still in the other. Last 32 of the UEFA Cup. And this spasticated jellyfish decides he has had enough of us. Is he all there? I mean, if he's as big a Dons fan as he says he is, then he must've been through the Aitken, Miller, Skovdahl and Paterson years. And he decides that NOW is the time to stop supporting the reds?? We'll kindly do without your support ya fuckin retard

Nah nah, this must surely win "Post of the Week"

Duff? I still hope the roadblocks are being manned! Dobie? A bit more promising. But giving him credit for his Scotland international status? My uncle's dog got a cap for Scotland thanks to Bertie Vogts ... and that dog has its hind legs on wheels! Please take him! Worst acquisition we've made since Michael Bird. -
But that was vs Shellick! This is vs Yooshited!!! Regardless of how shite Clyde are now in comparison to then, sure in proportion they are equally up to the task of bumping those arab minkers out of the cup as they were to beating the tims.
-
Do the fans get a say in where they want to go to see ABERDEEN Football Club play the games? I'm nae going to Porty for any fuckin game. This will be the death of Aberdeen FC if it goes ahead.
-
Of course we've nae seen the best of Lovell. Anyone who saw us play Dundee when he was at Dens will vouch for that. When he's on-form, he is devastating. Problem is we've yet to see him on-form yet.
-
ouch! that's seen the end of many a footballer's career!
-
Stuart Duff isn't! We'd be better signing Grampian TV presenter Steven Duff!
-
We've never liked Clark. The club got offered silly money for him and accepted it. What we gonna do? Let's boo the player!!!! Proof that there are numbskulls in the Red Army too!
-
Versatile??? A nice word to say "so shite, we cannae find a position for him yet"
