But Scott Booth's retired!
-
We just need to prove to everyone that we have good enough cover to play Motherwell and have no hangover for Copenhagen. If our reserves can beat United and Hibs, surely whichever team we field will be capable of beating Motherwell ... especially with this ammo to encourage them!

Trip to Fiorentina would be my favoured one of that lot. We just dinnae hae enough games against Italian sides

THE OFFICIAL: "LET'S ALL LAUGH AT HEARTS"
Reekie_Red replied to glasgow sheep's topic in Football Chat
Haha. Don't they realise that when Romanov goes, he's not taking the debt with him! He'll just leave Hearts the way he found it ... except with all the crazy-wage players they've accumulated since he arrived. How the hell are they gonna be able to run for more than four or five months? He'll call the Lithiuanians back to Kaunas, and none of the remaining players will hae a clue how to play in the SPL cos they're so used to playing reserve football. This guy says he'll only come back to Hearts when Romanov buggers off. Hate to tell you mate, but you might be better off taking a trip to Livingston to see regular football once Romanov buggers off. -
Where's the one of the kid pissing on the Rangers logo? Ain't seen that one since ... well since the ASC website was running.

Awesome! Is this gonna see a regular return to Pittodrie of the spinning-scarfs? On that note, whatever happened to those spinning rattles that used to be a mainstay of football terraces?
-
And that could be the difference between us getting into Europe next season, and us not. We're starting to pickup points where we shouldn't really be doing so. Picking up points even when we're playing shite is the hallmarks of a team that nick 3rd place. Same happened back in the 2001/02 season. There were some matches then when we just shouldn't have won, and by all means we were extremely lucky to win. But those wins helped put a brighter shine on a season that saw us sprinkle the heap of average games we had with occasional displays of brilliance! Could this be the same this season?

Aye, well done Aberdeen-Mad! Yer a credit tae the Dons fans!!!!

Dons ask to cancel Motherwell Game
Reekie_Red replied to glasgow sheep's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Aye, fuckin right CarolineB. I mean, we played Watershei in the ECWC semi. Only three days earlier we were facing Celtic in the Scottish Cup. Postponing domestic fixtures to aid a bigger league is just a mark of a soft bunch of panzies. Get on with it. I mean, imagine if these guys actually had to work a 40-hour week??? They'd never last past the first coffee break on Monday! Panzies!!! -
Haha. You mean like the snow fae six years ago???
-
Mind you, the same theory applies to Kevin McNaughton. That boy had talent ... and plenty of it. But the game often sailed past him at Aberdeen. Now that he's down in Cardiff and playing a much slower game, he's being given the time and the space to put his talents to good use. And it's showing, because he's pretty much guaranteed a start for Cardiff these days.

afc in standing up for the fans shocker
Reekie_Red replied to glasgow sheep's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Shit. Looks like every third Aberdeen fan got mugged!!! Fuckin crappy Spaniards. My mate got his jeans-pocket cut off with a knife and his wallet was gone when he went to Barca a few years ago. And my ex got her wallet stolen from her "fanny pack" when we were in Barca about seven years ago. I say "fanny pack" because she was American and thats what they called it ... fuckin gave me hysterics every time she spoke of it. -
Is it me, or does the loon at the end wi all the blood on his face look like Owen Coyle?

afc in standing up for the fans shocker
Reekie_Red replied to glasgow sheep's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Un....fuckin...believabubble!! Good to see the club giving the fans the benefit of the doubt for a change. Beforehand it would be a case of "We don't know the facts, we don't even know if it involved Aberdeen fans ... but we'll be handing out lifetime bans anyhow!" -
Sounds like Miller missed a sitter. When I say missed ... he actually MISSED the ball!!!
-
Thanks for the link, Drew. I'll see about grabbing a few of these and doctoring them for this site.

Instead of utilising the normal Scottish managerial merrygoround ... how about the English one? Surely someone like Venables or ... dare I say ... Redknapp might fit the bill. Venables would make us the media-darlings of the world!

Why?

If JC were to be offered the Derby job ... or even the Scotland job ... and he left ... Who would be your ideal choice of replacement (serious ideas ... ie nae Mourinho!)

Team selection "made easy" says JC
Reekie_Red replied to Reekie_Red's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
JC already does this. He chucks 22 names into a hat and picks them out randomly. Thats how he picks his team for each week. It just so happens that, whether he picks number 1, 17, 22 or a bit of fluff out first ... the first name out of the hat is ALWAYS Chris Clark. -
Whats the point in advertising to home fans in the hope that a few thousand may come along to watch Atletico play the weakest side in the group? Why do that, when Atletico can advertise this to the 2000+ surplus opposition fans who are GUARANTEED to be in Madrid for the match, and are all without a ticket. Seems common sense from a money-making point of view, tbh!
-
New Zealand. Does that make a single bit of difference when a number of regulars on DT used to go to the youth matches and brag about his ability? I haven't seen him with my own eyes, but the wonder that is the internet allows people on the other side of the world to see, hear and read about things that happen in and around Aberdeen.
-
Just listened to JC's post-match summary. He's basically saying the team's performance against Celtic has made his selection choices for the Madrid game "very easy" as he is now looking at chucking a stack of first-choice players onto the bench and into the stand. Fuckin hope so! Give the likes of Aluko, Maguire and JDV a start against a team who will, without a doubt, be our best opposition this season. They'll love it, facing quality players and hopefully learning a thing or two from playing against them. Half our first-team doesn't deserve to play in Spain. I just hope JC sticks by his words. With luck, we won't see players like Clark getting a look-in to this game. Infact, just gie him a "Look In" magazine and chuck him in the stands. That'd be best for all concerned.

We drastically need to STOP wasting our time and money with these has-beens such as McNamanamanamanamanamana, Brewster, Crawford, etc. We must start ploughing money into our youth system. Look at the Hibs youth system. It has basically brought them out of the red and they are now one of the few Scottish sides running in the black! And very much in the black too! Why? because they are nurturing their own talent, and then selling them for a fortune. When was the last player to come through our ranks with the smallest bit of talent? Bagshaw! And what did we do with him? Released him!

What would you like to see implemented on DonsTalk?
