Wish we could've got Schmeichel when we first looked at him a year ago. We said nah. He went to Man City. And he produced some phenomenal displays for them. I'd feel a lot more comfortable with him in goals than either Bonny or Soapy.

Agreed. When we signed McNamara, I was thinking that he would be an ideal replacement for Anderson in terms of experience and ability. Oh how I was wrong. All the experience and ability count for jack shit when you don't have the hunger or desire to apply your full potential ... or even half of your potential! McNamara's probably been the most disappointing signing we've made in a long long time (maybe Lovell is on a par), primarily due to the ability we all know he has, compared to the product we've received from him.

I really hope McNamara pops onto DonsTalk now and then. Maybe seeing that Duff and Mair have more votes than him will make him realise that he might be best to just stay in Edinburgh for the rest of the season. There's only two things left for JC to do: 1) a mass cull of the playing squad in the hope that a fresh squad will have the drive and determination to get us back into Europe for 09/10 2) Leave. Whilst he's got an ounce of dignity in him, perhaps he should cut his losses and leave. He's clearly got what it takes to get Aberdeen up to where they should be. But he clearly doesn't have what it takes to KEEP us there. Maybe last season we were punching above our weight. But JC should've built on last season's squad to ensure that a team who were punching above their weight were more heavyweight this term, and could stand firm to the task of being the country's third-top side. Instead, his critical failing is to fail to replace the one man who helped lead his team into Europe - Russell Anderson. I thought he'd done this by signing Jackie McNamara. It's obvious that Jackie just ain't up to the task of leading the defence. But the critical failure is in the fact that it's taken JC an entire season to realise this. Infact, has he realised it yet?

Bravo to that. I mean, it doesn't have to be anyone fancy. So long as they show a bit of heart and a bit of determination, that'll do for many of us. I mean, Paul Sheerin caught our collective imaginations for half a season!!!! The majority of us were a bit miffed that Tosh left us. Right now I'd rather we had Tosh and Sheerin than the big names of Severin and McNamara.

I don't think JC is to blame for this. He's not the man out there playing the game on the park. Each and every one of those players must surely be held accountable. A place in the final, they are a goal down with half an hour left. The strikers have to be held accountable for failing to beat a 2nd Division side. The defence have to be held accountable for allowing a 2nd Division side to score FOUR goals. I really really really hope that JC follows through with his threats to cut half the squad in the summer. And I hope it's not like all the other times, where we cut half the squad by getting rid of all the decent players and all the up-and-coming youngsters. We need to get rid of the dross that is clearly not good enough to play for Aberdeen. Bus, Duff, Mackie, Soutar, Langfield, Mair and Considine are seven first-team regulars who immediately spring to mind who, quite simply, are not the standard required to have us in cup finals and up in the top four of the league. I'll be happier if these players go in the summer, and the likes of Nicholson and Miller decide to stay!

Made even better by the fact that me and Alfrom couldnae make it across to Hampden from Edinburgh, so we watched it from The Rainbow Inn in Corstorphine, a real Hibee stronghold ... but all the Hibee regulars were at Hampden. We had a group of Hearts fans cheering Aberdeen. Actually, they weren't cheering Aberdeen. They celebrated when Stavrum equalised. But didnae say a word when Dow slammed the winner in fae Stavrum's knockback.

Haha! I had to vote Winters. I'll never forget his save against Kanchelskis. Priceless! I mind watching that final in a pub in Edinburgh. Some innocent bystander happened to wander in half way through the match and said "who's that shite in goals for Aberdeen?" I turned around and said "Robbie Winters" He said "Robbie Winters? The striker?!" At that point, he started cheering for Aberdeen.

I'd love it if we didn't have brand logos all over the club shirts. Yes, the Apex ones have been quite tastefully designed. But I think they are the exception to the rule. All the other ones we've had over the years have been horrendous ... especially those HUGE Atlantic Telecom blobs in the late 90s. I think the shirts look a hell of a lot better without the sponsorship logos
