Looked like Luke shaw picked up a shocking injury. Being reported as a "suspected" broken leg. If you'd seen the photos I'm bot sure there's any "suspected" about it!

Quite gutted at having to miss this, was offered the corporate tickets from work only to have to disappear up to nigg for a couple of nights. In/Out: Out Pre-match: Shitey quayside in the rain Match: see above Post match: celebrating in the bright lights of nigg Prediction: 3-0 dons - Rooney, Maclean and Taylor

Fantastic quotes from the manager, especially the bit about getting 3 points against Hamilton. It's a fantastic feeling to have a team to be proud of again. I said the same thing about Quinn after the game, he's turning out to be a very important signing.
-
Has that footage been doctored? McGinn seems to be celebrating pretty enthusiastically
-
Quite frankly... Ronny can get to fuck. He's conveniently forgetting that should we have got the penalty that we should have, they'd have been down to 10 men. Fair enough our penalty may have been soft(or may not, my view from the south stand wasn't great) but it evened itself out. We weren't great, neither were Celtic but it was a fully deserved victory.
-
That was an incredible statement of intent. Coming from behind and beating them when were down to 10 men is possibly the biggest confidence boost we've had in years. 7/7 next please

For fuck sake Time to break the hoodoo

Well based on what I've seen he has transitioned from the focal point of our attack under brown to more of a creative role nowadays. Rather than being deployed through the middle he's been providing more width usually, cutting in when the situation arises. That's only based on what I've seen though, I'm sure it varies depending on the opposition. With goodwillie he seems to have been asked to play up top in Europe and mainly tasked with holding the ball up waiting for support from midfield to arrive before bringing them into play, it's a role he's done reasonably well but it's definitely reduced the amount of chances he's had/created for himself. From memory he managed to get in behind on a couple occasions which I think he could be doing more of, that's just my opinion though. I've been on holiday the last couple of weeks so I've missed the couple of games when he was played up front with Rooney from the start, I'd be interested to see how that's been working out from more than just the highlights. Saying that, I'm sure most of that is completely wrong.... Just my observations.
-
Based on his role in the team McInnes sets out I'd agree completely.
-
Nonsense, I've offered alternative views numerous times now. If you refuse to see that then there's not much I can do... Although unless you're Niall McGinn it is all just speculation.
-
This is getting tiresome now and totally off topic... I've already stated that he has suffered from dips in form, which you've conveniently ignored and claimed I hadn't a couple of times now and I've already said I do not believe its due to a lack of effort. I've also already said that it could be caused by a loss of confidence, struggling adapting to a new role, slight injuries or most likely a combination of some/all of those. Continuing to claim I've not acknowledged the fact he's had spells when his form has dipped or that I haven't offered possible explainations for this based on my opinion is incorrect, reading back through my replies will show you that. As mentioned last night it's my opinion (based on what I've seen, with my own eyes, at games, in the Aberdeen end) that he's never looked like he's lacking in effort or isn't trying during his dips in form. What you're having trouble with in that I have no idea but I stand by my opinion. Now... Shay Logan...
-
Don't let it ruin your argument or anything but I've acknowledged he had a dip in form on numerous occasions. (Including my first post...)
-
Of course it matters, there's a huge difference between being out of form and playing poorly because of a lack of effort, if you can't see that then I give up arguing with you as there's no point in trying to get you to see the point I'm making. I've never said it's acceptable to be shite for an extended period, but it's a fact of life that players have spells where they are out of form, it happens and I firmly believe that things didn't click for him during that period rather than the lack of effort you've obviously convinced yourself of him being guilty of. It's no much wonder your tone and attitude towards other posters rub people up the wrong way, it's like battering your head against a brick wall trying to put any alternative point to you. Also, I've never claimed to be experienced in the game or any of the other nonsense you've dreamed up in your head, I'm just a football fan like any other on this forum who forms their own opinion based on what I see. You've obviously formed a different opinion, enjoy getting worked up over McGinns "unacceptable behaviour" Oh and there have been no deflections from me... As far as I know I've responded to every "point" you've made, but don't let that get in your way!

You may be on to something there... Well you may be if I'd actually been born or brought up in Edinburgh, or had lived there for longer than the time I was at uni. Unfortunately I'm just too lazy to change my username after having registered on donstalk when I still lived down there. None of which has much to do with the merits of Shay Logan as a player, or the offshoot of this thread discussing McGinn. I like the golden boy comparison though, you're sweet you wee charmer
-
This makes me sad, I was hoping we could be friends Anyway back on topic... Shay Logan, good player!

Night night rocket, sweet dreams xx

Agree with a lot of this, the fact that the Celtic defence will be unsettled has the potential to be a huge positive for us, fingers crossed that's the case. I'd also love McInnes to stick to his best team and play to our strengths rather than set up to nullify Celtic. Whether this is the right thing to do or not is anyone's guess, but to set up to suit us and beat them would be a huge statement of intent. In Pub Section Y Pub A frenzied 2-1 win, Taylor & McLean

This to me is one of the best things I've ever read on here, the irony is incredible! Who knows, frustration and lack of confidence after a dip in form? Not being 100% fit? Struggling to adapt to a lesser role in our attack? Nobody knows for sure and It could be anything so to write it off as a simple lack of effort without taking some time to consider the situation is really jumping to conclusions. Good, this is progress! I'm glad we can agree it's ok to have different opinions. You may want to remember that pearl of wisdom next time you pounce on someone else's completely valid opinion and go on another blood pressure raising rant which only really serves to amuse I'll hold my hands up, you've got me there... I can't honestly remember this game so I'll assume I wasn't there, I'll need to think back to what I was doing if you're really interested? When was this game? How did we play? Was it a good game? Did you have fun? However players berate their team mates on a regular basis, it's even happened this season on a couple of occasions already. Forgive me if I don't consider this a huge deal. It happens and will continue to happen, I happen to think it's a good thing... I'm glad we've got a culture within this team where players can be held accountable when they make mistakes or aren't at the races.
-
Correct, I said that because I genuinely believe that to be the case, If it wasn't I do not believe he would still be here. As I've already stated I totally agree that he's gone through prolonged spells where he's been out of form, but I've never put that down to a lack of effort. That is my opinion based on what I've seen. Once again correct, you're on a roll here rocket well done. I did indeed say that as again it something I truly believe, it's my opinion. Also, to label an awkward apologetic celebration after scoring his first (correct me if I'm wrong) goal against a club he spent a significant portion of his professional career at as being disgraceful just shows how petty and childish you are. In my opinion Oh you were so close to going 3/3 there... I've only presented my opinions, you may notice I've pointed that out above it may well be your opinion that I'm wrong about the reasons behind McGinn's lack of form, but to suggest that's anything more than your opinion is laughable. I could go full blown rocket here and question what you're basing this opinion on but... Quite frankly I don't care. I'm just looking forward to McGinn putting in a MOTM performance on Saturday just to see your reaction, sure you'll catch it on sportscene if he does
-
Not at all, my opinions not any more important than anyone else's but it is based on what I've actually seen (sitting in the Aberdeen end thanks very much!) and I sure as fuck don't need to justify that to an agressive know it all keyboard warrior who seems to let personal feelings on certain players cloud his judgement. But don't let that stop you showering us in your infinite wisdom
-
Brown can do a job defensively but that's just not been the case in the last 2 games, he's been woeful and his passing caused no end of problems... For his team mates. I don't care how passionate he is, he was a wasted jersey today. Oh I know it's not impossible but I just can't see us getting 3rd place now, we'll make an arse of it against Poland if there's anything at stake. I was just saying to Manc, I bet they both play a blinder on Saturday just to enhance their level of cunty-ness
-
In fairness at least Forrest caused some problems when he was on the pitch. Mulgrew though? Jesus wept he's shambolic defensively at times. Woeful at one of the goals... Brown suspect too, strachan can't seriously be picking either based on recent form. other results have ended our qualification/play off hopes too.
-
Brown was dreadful, morrison anonymous and the rest weren't much better. Bringing Robertson off was shocking too, he was the only player putting in dangerous crosses. France is a shitehole anyway, not qualifying is no loss.
-
As far as I'm aware that only happened once didn't it?...
-
What player plays to his potential every week though? I've never seen anything from McGinn that's made me think he's not trying, yes he's had dips in form but not once have I thought it was down to lack of effort. I suspect a few have seen his apologetic celebration against celtic and let that cloud their judgement. At the end of the day he was never going to replicate his goal scoring form once he was shifted away from playing as a striker/the focal point of our attack, anyone who believed he would is a fool. In his role under McInnes he's still chipped in with goals as well as numerous assists so I've certainly got no complaints with him. As far as not performing against Celtic goes, i'm sure it's more the fact that they're a better team than most and are better equipped to nullify him. I'd certainly disagree that his performances against Celtic has anything to do with McGinn having played for them. As far as Logan goes, even if he has turned down a new deal I've no idea the timing of the news breaking in the national papers is because we're playing Celtic next. Even if he does leave in January or at the end of his deal there's no doubt in my mind that he'll continue giving his all whilst he's still with us. I can hardly blame him wanting to leave given his family situation and i guess it is better for him to leave on a free rather than someone paying to signing him from us.
