I believe that is what's commonly referred to as nonsense! Sorry Mizer but fuck only knows what that graph shows. The only stat that really shows the shiteness of this season is we've got less points this season than at the same stage last season. Unless I've jsut made that up, I'm not sure...
-
Finished 3-0 Killie. Good from a comedy perspective, although its very bad the the teams below us are picking up points on us...
-
Deluded as fuck....... =)
-
He did come across better than usual I'll give you that, still wondering if there was any need to single Paton out though, cant really be doing his confidence much good.
-
He was fairly brutal on Paton, although I've no idea how culpable he was for the goal or whether he cost us the game.
-
Now now, don't confuse stoney... but yeah, the midfielder
-
Naming him after his father then?...

Aberdeen v Falkirk - CIS Cup Q/final
Edinburghdon replied to Tyrant's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Right where to start with that... I honestly thought that if i were a falkirk fan I'd feel robbed by the match today (well the usually level headed falkirk fan i work with certainly did anyway) they out played us for large parts of the game and simply looked the better team overall. They knocked the ball about better, created more chances and caused us a number of problems in the first half. In the second half we came back into it a bit more but were still poor over all. Aluko didnt seem fully fit, he looked as if he started well but faded badly as the game wore on and Falkirk marked him out of the game, especially after he seemed to take a kick and went down holding his ankle/Achilles, I'm not convinced he hasn't been rushed back. Hartley was almost anonymous (obviously not at the first goal, took up a very good position and looked like a good headed finish) but despite his lack of influence on the ball he lead the team quite well, still seems like the captain we've been lacking just wish he could impose himself more. Of the players on the pitch I think Robertson and Jack performed well, I thought they were two of our better players, Robertson certainly seemed keen to put his body on the line when defending, taking numerous nasty knocks only to get up and carry on. Jack I feel out performed Hartley and was always looking for the ball and tracking back to make important tackles when required, I thought both young players showed very impressive positional sense for players of that age group, we could well have two promising players here and two I'd certainly mark above the majority of our team tonight. I thought Macardle performed ok, he seemed to be pushed off the ball quite easily although this looked to be because he was left exposed at the back by the likes of diamond. Maguire looked lively before picking up a knock and it looked like he was going to be replaced should it have gone to extra time, credit to him for playing on when obviously struggling to allow Paton to get a proper warm up. Showed signs of an improvement in attitude and a blossoming partnership with Vernon. Neither contributed as much as I'd hoped though. Overall I honestly think we stole that match, we were out played for large periods of the game by a Falkirk team that knocked it about better than we did and a soft penalty stole it for us. That's not to say there isn't positives to be taken from the game, the young players were impressive and there seems to be a bit more grit to grind out results than there has been in recent seasons, as well as having a real leader on the pitch in hartley, despite not having the bbest of games overall ( Obviously it was great he got 2 goals, I just think he didn't play very well apart from that). Delighted we're through after a real scare but I'd worry if we played like that in the next round... Finally this may be very controversial but the last couple of times I've been lucky enough to be taken to the football with work I've been sitting right infront of Stewart Milne. Now I'm by no means a fan of how the club has been run over the years but I've been noticing more and more just how much he actually cares about the club, he seems to kick every ball from his main stand seat and was jumping up and down like an avid fan when both goals went in. Its starting to hit home just how difficult his job must be. I know the debt racked up throughout his tenure is fairly crippling right now but the more i think about it the more i think he's in an impossible position of being caught between a fan base wanting to spend money on improving the team (as is perfectly natural) and running a successful business. It was only in thinking just how few clubs manage this it made me realise just how difficult this is. I'm by no means a milne sympathiser, I've been very critical over the years about his running of the club but lately I've been understanding just how much he cares about the club, and frankly in the absence of a sheik he's the best we've got. I'd need to see a replay but my instincts at the time said that it was quite soft (seen them given but seen them turned down too....) like I said I'd need to see it again from a better angle to say for sure though. -
If he's played full back next season then McGhee has fucked his career, he looked good in centre midfield today, in my opinion outshining Hartley in his overall performance (obviously ignoring hartleys goal and dubious pen) Honestly thought he impressed in central midfield and was never shy about looking for the ball and taking his time to play football when required, opposed to lumping the ball forward like some in the team. Simmy was raving about him again today, full back simply doesnt do him justice despite the fact he can cover there.

In/Oot? In Pre match? gothenburg lounge Match? Directors box Post-match? Gothenburg lounge Score? 3-1 -
Good result and by all accounts it sounded not a bad performance. Now its down to Mcghee not to fuck up the team by changing it!

Mizer, are you heading to the globe tomorrow?...

Hartley: Aberdeen fans must rally round
Edinburghdon replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Can't help but think playing Jack at right back when he's breaking into the team will be detrimental to him. He's a young central midfielder, thats where he should be played to give himself the best chance of fulfilling his potential. -
How did you find that out? Do you know him or something?....
-
A 14 team league especially one with a top 6 bottom 8 split would be a disaster, really don't see the attraction of a league with some teams playing more than others. Modelling it on the dutch leagues could work though, i seem to remember there being some exciting run ins over the past few years in dutch football.
-
As far as i can tell the main gripe was taking a big gamble on signing him despite his awful injury record and while he was injured, which is understandable. And after Saturday people disagreed with Mcghee starting with a clearly unfit player which again is understandable. Not sure what your issue is to be honest.
-
So you'll admit velicka has been a shit bit of business so far but you don't want people pointing out the blindingly obvious?...
-
Work permit application/appeal wasnt it?
-
Special dispensation? have i missed something? Vujadinovic looks like he could be a cracking defender. Although never in a million years as left back, definitely in the centre.
-
The point was we had full backs, Mcghee has got rid of them without replacing them adding to the already unbalanced nature of our squad. Id say we lack adequate cover in the centre of midfield with only young and jack available to cover now if hartley or folly gets injured. Its blindingly obvious that the squad in unbalanced. And While i wasnt at the game on saturday I've seen him play before, and added to that I was speaking to simmie after the raith game in the gothenburg lounge who said he was first and foremost a central midfielder although granted he did mention that he could cover at the back if required. I'd very much doubt it will do the lads development much good if he's played out of position because by all accounts theres big things expected from him, was told he was rated higher than fyvie before a bad run of injuries over the last 18 months or so.
-
Apart from the horribly unbalanced squad lacking in any natural full backs, cover in midfield etc. But its ok because we've got 7 strikers... And i wouldn't have said Jack did very well at the weekend, he's a central midfielder and by all accounts one thats expected big things from. That isn't going to happen if he isn't played in his proper position. See also maguire. C.

I'll give you a clue, this one has been booed

McGhee challenges Maguire to turn on his Scotland form
Edinburghdon replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I'll let you spot the mistake yourself Hebrew -
Satisfied? With that?! Well if that's where your sights are set you can fuck off now McGhee. My patience is wearing very fucking thin with his excuses and horrible unbalanced squad.
