Raith Rovers v Aberdeen - SC
Edinburghdon replied to glasgow sheep's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I'm not saying we've no chance of beating hibs, but acording to the hibs fan i work with they have been transformed of late, everything seems to be clicking and without a shadow of a doubt they have the players to do serious damage to us should they turn up. And in my opinion in the form we're in just now there's not a team in this league that wont be a test for us. -
Haha thats actually tragic! can imagine londonscottish sitting behind his big make believe desk furiously banning anyone who dares disagree with him!
-
Didnt londonscottish pretty much admit this in the past few days? (although im fully expecting this to have disappeared now! )
-
Sorry I'm posting from my phone so can't quote, why would you think thats pure unadulterated shite then rocket?... Sorry dave I'll go sit in the corner and think about what I've done...
-
Oh and i did say one of the ways you could gauge millers success, try reading my first post on the subject. Like i said, there's more to millers role than the average fan knows, to criticise something you don't fully understand is quite ignorant, especially when you're ignoring the positives. And what insults would that be then?
-
Sorry I'll rephrase that, what experience do you have of him in his current role? Got to admit i skimmed the thread so might have missed it. I do think its laughable that you're accusing me of being out for confrontation when i went out of my way to answer your questions as fully as i can, frankly I've got better things to do than seek confrontation with someone on the internet, perhaps you should aim for the same... the points you've made about the football being dire and what not would become the responsibility of the manager long before it comes to the dof, although i understand that would go against your entire argument and mean mcghee comes in for criticism, which must be hard for you to accept... Contract negotiations are a valid point, one which i already explained, and attracting the right standard of player, well surely its the management that pick the targets, and having his hands tied by a tight budget made tighter after the collapse of setanta would make attracting quality players tough I'd imagine...
-
I've got to admit i feel party responsible for this latest rant, I made the point that it wasnt purely the managers fault over on the hat and that theres been bigger problems with AFC for years, although that seems to have been interpreted as McGhee shouldnt take some of the flack for tuesdays shambles. Seems like my point (and others) has been tiwsted as another argument to absolve McGhee from any blame for some of the performances this season.

Young was one of the only players to get pass marks last night, was heavily involved in our best and pretty much our only good move the whole night. He's been playing well and deserves his place much more than some others on show last night.
-
Kerr and McDonald we're atrocious tonight, although McDonald was played out right in a position which he not once looked comfortable in, he did improve slightly in the second half, and i mean very slightly. With kerr it seems like the captaincy has proved far far too much for him, far from the player he can be. It says it all that i scored an invite to my works corporate table but that performance has me that fucking raging i've not even managed to take advantage of the masses of free booze available. :hammer: :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

Now I'm not the type to over react and rant after a defeat but.... I was lucky enough to miss the Motherwell game (through no fault of my own) so tonight was the low point of my season. I'm struggling to remember such an inept and toothless performance as i witnessed tonight. Frankly it was embarrassing just how much we failed tonight, against a very poor team struggling at the foot of the table. Struggling to put how annoyed I am into words. For me Ifil was fucking atrocious, a "defender" that cant do the very basic defensive duties that should have been mastered at primary school ages is quite frankly an embarrassment. For 90 minutes today he was pulled all over the shop, failed to attack a single ball instead waiting for it to bounce in the box or just run onto a falkirk player. quite frankly i'm embarrassed he gets the opportunity to play for aberdeen. At this minute i'd honestly rather have john ingles, thats how inept he was tonight. If he cant even do the simple things expected of a defender at any level then he has to be dropped, soon. McLean looked as if he could be a player if he had the right service, however as usual the service provided was a mix or terrible punts up field and hopeful nothing balls. McDonald started wide right and was ineffective in a role he looked uncomfortable, however he improved slightly when moved into the middle when he was involved in a lot of the play. Langfield made a couple of great saves to keep it at 1-0 (manage to see that then rocket? ) and from what i saw didnt do an awful lot wrong in the 90 minutes (although id like to see the goal again) Whoever mentioned there being no style of play got it bang on. saying we're aiming for slick passing football is one thing, i'd even have accepted a direct long ball game however tonight (along with one or two other occasions ive seen this season) has been 90 minutes of nothingness, a total lack of any kind of game plan, and frankly its shocking. All this talk of a transitional season is a load of pish, it's never been an excuse before and it shouldnt be now, parts of the performance tonight were that inept it reminded me of paterson's reign. As soon as young came on the game picked up a bit and in particular there was one move that young was heavily involved in that looked great and almost lead to a goal, apart from that it was 90 minutes of pure unadulterated shite. Langfield, McLean (purely because he did the very best working with the pish service he was provided with) and Young were the only ones to get anywhere near pass marks for me. Mackie wasnt bad but barring that the rest fail for me. It was interesting at the final whistle one fan sitting just infront of me right behind the dugout pointed out in no uncertain terms to McGhee and Leitch that the performance was in no way acceptable and McGhee seemed very surprised at hearing that. If he didnt realise just how poor tonight was against a team struggling at the bottom of the table then i dont know what will make him realise what's expected of the team. It's nights like this that make me realise just why attendances are dropping. Results and more importantly performances like this need to stop. and quickly.

Your footballing knowledge knows no bounds rocket, it really does....

Numerous saves in the home leg against Bayern for a start. He was solid against rangers at pittodrie this season, with many good saves. I'm surprised that someone that claims to know as much about the art of goalkeeping refuses to acknowledge that Langfield has made an invaluable contribution to our reasonably good defensive record over the past few seasons, to be honest it seems as if your harbouring yet another petty and frankly childish dislike of him and no matter how well he plays you'll think the same, which is a shame. Open your eyes, consider for a second that your not always right, you might learn something... Langfield is a very good shot-stopper, fair enough he's not perfect and could improve on some aspects of his game, however under Leighton's tutelage he seemed to be improving on his weaknesses. I believe his record stands up to the stronger goalkeepers in the league, and we would struggle to replace him with similar quality.
-
Try doing your homework, in any of the season reviews I'm willing to bet that there's impressive saves from langfield. even try watching some highlights you might learn something....
-
For every mistake that can be pointed out about langfield I'm sure that you can also highlight a great save that has rescued us. Goalkeepers make mistakes, thats a fact of life, its just a shame that when a goalkeeper makes a mistake its more obvious as it more often than not leads to a goal. Over the past few seasons Langfield has kept more clean sheets than the majority of the league. That to me doesn't scream incompetent to me, Infact I'd say that when Langfield has been in form he has been very strong, and organises his defence better than when he first arrived at the club. Like it or not he has been a big part of our strong defensive record over the past few years. However I'll agree that he's looked slightly shakier this season, since Leighton's departure anyway. To me it seems like he's a big confidence player and Leighton was the man that gave him that confidence more often than not, and not having a settled defence infront of him for most of the season can't possibly help his form. A confident langfield behind a defence he has faith in is a big asset to Aberdeen.

He would be a big loss, however If the figure of £500k is accurate and we can use the cash to sign a striker and Jim O'Brien then I'd drive him to the airport myself, probably laughing all the way! -

Can't say I'm overly optimistic either! And I'd be terribly upset if anyone PM's me a link to a stream of the match, really upset indeed.....

I hope your not sitting waiting for a response, it may take quite a while to trawl through all 250 odd posts of yours to find out just which one is the most ridiculous...

The very point i made on the hat, which prompted the usual response from the retards over there...

Good vs Evil - Saturday LIVE on Sky Sports
Edinburghdon replied to glasgow sheep's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Hardly the worst crime in the world, after the stick he was given i think any rational person could blame him for reacting. Even if he is an odious little shite -
That's quite an achievement considering Murray won in straight sets....
