  1. Don't think m anything has been published but the likes of Manc and tom widows have covered it in this thread. Will need to do some research into the buses point but I'm pretty certain in the years we've got until the thing is built the plans can be firmed up further. It'll be different to travelling to pittodrie but that's not to say it'll be bad. Folk that drive will still drive, folk that took the bus will still take the bus, it just means that rather than getting off the train and walking to pittodrie you'll get off the train and jump on a bus.
  2. It didn't get any better. 3/10 at best. Even that's generous...
  3. I don't think you've seen anyone saying that anyone on the committee approved, it's widely accepted that 7 were reasonable enough to understand the proposal has the potential to be a major benefit to the area but that the plans as they stand need work. The other 7 either believed the issues rightly raised weren't able to be resolved or completely ignored the huge potential benefits that exist for the area (which there are many that the anti kingsford lot seem to either overlook or flat out deny. Which is ridiculous really. Well done for providing the much needed 'clarity' though. I can assure you nobody thinks the proposal is perfect, lots of rational minded people understand that there's absolutely no suitable location within the city centre and the location at kingsford is probably the best alternative and that with some work kingsford could work. Nothing at all to do with looks, all to do with fitting a need and ticking as many boxes as possible. Feel free to suggest a suitable alternative (note, the existing site isn't one). You mention parking issues and access by road, both are a significant improvement on the current situation. as far as crime goes a lot has been made on the number of CCTV cameras in Aberdeen compared to westhill but it's conveniently ignored that the overwhelming majority of these cameras are in the city centre itself rather than the route to pittodrie, it's just as hard monitoring fans between the city centre and pittodrie and the city centre and Westhill. The difference is kingsford will have better CCTV at the stadium and will be designed to maximise segregation between home and away fans. So it's perfectly reasonable to think crime prevention will be easier at the proposed site. As far as walking goes, it's perfectly safe to walk from either westhill or the kingswells park and ride to the proposed site. To suggest otherwise is laughable. People walk that route every day. There's also been a study done on cyclists using the route daily and found the number inconvenienced is in low single figures... Multiple other clubs manages to shuttle far greater numbers of fans to their stadiums on a weekly basis. It's a damning inditement of Aberdeen if they can't solve that issue. Any number of those stadiums would have been a more relevant point than this... Agreed, probably why the club has agreed in principle for additional parking nearby. Except the proposed site is within the city boundries... can you propose any other site within the city centre with sufficient space? There's none at pittodrie, kingslinks would require buying the driving range a significant portion of the golf course and would be prohibitive from a cost perspective and leave the same shite transport links. Landowner profits from selling land, yawn. There's a huge number of idiots on each side. The "get it built" and the "not on my door step" fannies should be ignored, there's a huge number of people that have put a lot of thought in to kingsford and the alternatives (or lack thereof) and although admit the current proposal has its flaws, it can be improved so that it's workable. As it stands there's no option that has a chance of being feasible. Sadly a lot of the anti kingsford people have no idea for alternative sites and can't seem to see any positives in the plans. Which is a shame. The proposed site has the best transport links possible within the city, the location in relation to the existing dual carriageways and the AWPR is as good as you'll get, there's simply nowhere else nearer the city centre with better road links. Buses etc will be put on as per the plans. It's not perfect by any means but it'll be workable and a significant improvement on the current situation. That's a fact anyone who's ever driven to pittodrie will agree with. Again, nobody will claim the plans are perfect, simply writing them off when there's still the potential to improve them won't help find a workable solution at all, it's only adding to the problem.
  4. Shite result and performance, reckon the damage was done picking up a yellow card within 2 mins. We were generally poor anyway. Here's hoping some of the injured players are back for the Italy game so we can finish the competition strongly. I believe a big win would mean we've a good chance of climbing to 4th in the world, would be brilliant with the World Cup draw coming up.
  5. Don't think Rooney and Stockley work as a pairing, should be one or the other. Probably not a popular opinion based on the posts recently but I'd take an "out of form" Rooney who's still outscoring Stockley every day of the week. For me Stockley is better as an impact sub when we need to change things up anyway.
  6. Cotter has been fantastic, not sure him working with Townsend would have worked though. Townsend seems ready for the top job, if the SRU hadnt given it to him he'd have been off and we'd have missed out on a fantastic coach. He's been groomed for the role for years too so losing him by not giving him the job would have undone years of planning. You're right though, time will tell whether it works or not, based on his work with Glasgow Warriors I'd say he's got a good chance of carrying on the improvement with the Scottish national team. Aye Cotter heading back to france I think, so even if the SRU did want to keep him I doubt they'd be able to.
  7. I see your fine and raise you an absolutely delighted. He's an accident waiting to happen.
  8. True, you've got to think he's on the bench for a reason though... possibly not fit enough to start which would be a boost.
  9. What's the rumoured reason to want to leave? Hope it's not true regardless, really need to be keeping the likes of Jack
  10. He's only on the bench isn't he? Also reports Owen Farrell injured himself in training g this morning, talk of him being a late withdrawal
  11. Aye it's laughable at times isn't it, thankfully the game was entertaining enough that it didn't take over the whole game. Reckon the ref did well all things considering! (Can't remember the last time I said that...)
  12. Aye it was a standard Suarez dive, totally get why folk can't stand him.
  13. Wow, reglardless of what you think of either team that game was sensational. Stunning comeback
  14. Don't think the penalty was intentional but it was definitely a pen, not sure why the ref wasn't going to give it initially. Reckon that PSG goal means the task could be just a bit too much for Barca, need 3 goals in the last 30 mins
  15. Aye I can see a lot of this going on at my work too. After a long drawn out redundancy process that had lasted the best part of 6 months it's obviously taken it's toll on morale and that's just the folk that were "spared". In fairness to the company they're trying things like workforce engagement schemes to see how morale could be improved but after months of constant stress, the fear of losing your job and the knock on effects such as worrying about losing your house etc it's not something that can be fixed easily. It's something I don't think I'll manage to get over any time soon, having such a close call and it dragging on for so long really took its toll on both morale and confidence and I genuinely wouldn't wish it on anyone. I'm not sure about other companies but I know for a fact this latest redundancy process at my work has left some real bad feeling with the workforce, especially given it was made clear to be about workload rather than the need to urgently cut costs. Folk will jump ship as soon as things pick up as any loyalty has been used up. Incredibly there are rumours that there's been much more work coming in since the start of the year than expected and we'll need to recruit to cope already, crazy given it's barely been a month since the whole process finished, it seems remarkably short sighted (and I was sure there was a minimum period they had to wait before replacing roles made redundant ) I also definitely relate to the points about the complete lack of progression and training happening nowadays, it's another reason that morale seems to be at an all time low and I can't see how it can continue like that for long. Completely agree with rico's point about the lack of strategy too, some of the restructuring has made no sense what so ever and to the workforce it looks like it's only further bloating middle management structures at the expense of the people actually doing the work.
  16. Barca looking hungrier and pressing harder than I've seen in a long long time tonight, 2-0 up against PSG and looking like coming back from 4-0 down after the first leg is a distinct possibility, they've been dominant and PSG look very rattled. Set up for a cracking 2nd half (probably just jinxed that )
  17. They were doing well until the ref had a meltdown, humiliated in the end though. Even we only lost to Bayern 5-1 once
  18. As already mentioned, I'm sure the new deal has some influence on it, but it's worth saying that pawlett has seemed to have had more consistent game time lately now he's not having to share minutes with the likes of Burns etc. I'm sure more game time has helped him find his rhythm and improve his performances too, must be very hard to have any impact on games when he gets 10-15 mins every so often. Which doesn't seem to have been given much consideration. I'm pretty sure the confidence boost from his recent good performances hasn't hurt either... He's never been one to be accused of a lack of effort so I don't see it being a case of him not trying until he's almost out of contract, I do get it'd be an extra motivation though.
  19. In fairness that looks a bit better than what was being reported at the time. https://stv.tv/news/north/178162-decision-day-for-union-terrace-gardens-plan/
  20. Hits the nail on the head, top post It was a phenomenally generous offer, he should be applauded for that (along with the new parking at ARI which I believe he's funded) but the UTG plan wasn't very good at all, even ignoring the massive costs. Had the money been available for the peacock visual arts gallery as well as other projects to make a real difference in the city centre then it would have surely been accepted. It's a real shame it didn't happen really as it'd have been a game changer in the city centre and would have been a great legacy for wood.
  21. Got to admit I'm with jagerdeen on this one. Dont get me wrong the oil industry needs support, especially the people struggling for work due to the downturn in the industry but it shouldn't have come from the city deal. I do believe that the centre will benefit the industry, it's definitely a good thing but it shouldn't have been done like this. The city deal could have done so many wonderful things to make the city a better place for all, to splash 70%+ on this centre is such a shame.
  22. I think homeland skipped a week in the U.K., there was an episode last Sunday though. My Mrs watched SS GB and recommended it to me, haven't got round to watching it yet though.
  23. Just for the next 2 matches isn't it? Well deserved anyway.
  24. Far from the worst culprits, easy targets though. That'll be Taylor, again.
  25. Not sure you can find anything untrue there mate
