  1. They'll double or treble his wages.
  2. Broon (old) already said that if we did any business at all in this window it would be pre-contract agreements only.
  3. This answers my question: Law 12: Fouls and Misconduct: Handling the ball involves a deliberate act of a player making contact with the ball with his hand or arm. The referee must take the following into consideration: • the movement of the hand towards the ball (not the ball towards the hand) • the distance between the opponent and the ball (unexpected ball) • the position of the hand does not necessarily mean that there is an infringement
  4. Definitely a graduate from the Steven Pressley school of going doon.
  5. Was away to do it then I remembered I'm not 25.
  6. I disagree. His age is the issue. If he was 10-15 years younger there'd be absolutely zero talk of replacing him but a manager of his age is going to need to be replaced sooner rather than later.
  7. Hopefully we can knock this thread on the head because the puns are chronic.
  8. At no point was it a good appointment.
  9. Apparently the 4th official told Brendan that they saw it but deemed it to be ball to hand. To be fair it did ricochet up at some speed. And Mav, I don't agree that Suarez cheated on this occasion so I won't lose too much sleep over it. Liverpool were the better team and the better team got through in the end. If Oldham put Liverpool out in the next round as a result of a dodgy hand ball will I whinge and moan about it? Too bloody right I will! But as the old cliche goes; these things even themselves out. You could argue that it already has. How many stonewallers has Suarez been denied this season because of his reputation? More than one anyway.
  10. They would only add negative attributes to our squad so no thanks.
  11. Of course he knew. He has nerve endings in his limbs like most other folk. A appreciate that he's not a likeable guy but it's the officials you should have the problem with on this occasion. They decide what stands and what doesn't, not the players.
  12. I wish to fuck the ref ruled out the goal. I knew he'd get hung for this. MBT and DD, yous try running at pace and keeping your arms rigid by your side. It doesn't work like that. You could tell from his reaction, the way he kicked the ball into the net, that he thought it would get ruled out. It was a reaction of frustration. It looked accidental to me and I say this knowing that Suarez is quite happy to commit a cynical foul if it might help his team. See World Cup 2010. The ref and linesman both either ruled that it was accidental or didn't see it. Slaughter the officials if you're lusting for blood. Gutted for Sturridge. Superb debut that now no one is talking about thanks to the officials. BTW the way.. is the rule that a hand ball is only a foul if it's deliberate? Or is it that in the penalty area it doesn't matter if it's deliberate?
  13. Aye. I was thinking about this. Didn't he laugh it off because it's never done by football clubs? Guys like CB and AK are experienced and probably set in their ways. They probably have no interest in mentoring younger coaches. Also these younger coaches may not want to work under anyone. I'm not saying it's a bad idea. Just that it's a lot more complicated than it looks at first glance.
  14. I agreed with Seedorf to an extent. If the racialists know that players are going to react that much it's only going to encourage them. They're not likely to give all that many fucks about what the non-racialist fans think of them. But I appreciate that it's very hard to ignore it. Ultimately, as we all know the governing bodies have to stamp it out with harsh sanctions.
  15. Didn't have his best game against United but I'd be happy to give him another year provided the offer is still there for him to rip up the contract if he gets injured long term.
  16. I think his favourite thing about life at Pittodrie would be the world class public parks that we train in.
  17. :lolabove:
  18. Aye, MBT, you tell us!
  19. Damien Comolli. This useless cunt paid in the region of £75m for Downing, Carroll and Henderson and gave them mental wages. TBF be fair to the current staff at Liverpool who is going to take Cole for £80k a week? No one. So either have him in the reserves and pay all his wages or let him play for another club and save almost £2.5m for the duration of his deal. No wonder the guy got the dunt.
  20. Would love to get him. Maybe a bit passed it now but that's never usually put us off of folk.
  21. In fairness we have to travel almost 4 hours to get to Killie. (Unless you're a Weegie faker) From Paisley it's a fraction of that. And Kow, Man City won't get rid. Apparently the owner likes him because of the publicity he generates.
  22. A player with less enthusiasm, hunger, ability and self confidence would have went down. Suarez lacks none of those so despite having so much still left to do he advanced and I was pleased that his honesty and endeavour were rewarded with a goal.
  23. Agree 100%.
  24. I wasn't at all surprised he stayed on his feet.
