Many of us are quick to blame the club and other fans for the lack of substance to the RUs or what they do but I do think the RUs themselves have to take some responsibility. They quickly do when they put on a fantastic display! As I alluded to in my earlier post they are only interested in elevating themselves above the "normal" fans. If they succeeded in getting the whole stadium singing they'd probably go in the huff and start signing obscure European songs that no one else knows (and are shite). Oh wait.. that part they already do. They would rather be in a minority of people signing than a majority of people singing. (Clarified for the troll.) They could definitely look at their own attitudes first. At least the flag waving doesn't really happen during games anymore. And can you imagine if one of them (or any vocal fan for that matter) had a megaphone? Fuck that. I'm delighted the club don't let just anyone go aboot with a megaphone.

This is more or less what I've said everytime this question comes up.. The Red Ultras are great in theory. But reality is different. Don't get me wrong about the displays. There have been some tremendous displays and I tip my cap to those responsible. But I don't think the RUs actually want to be a part of the majority. They like being the minority that makes noise and looks down on other fans. I'm no fan of sitting in a deathly quiet stadium. I much prefer to be standing and to be involved with the game but it's not something I can fake. The players have to get us excited about the game when the sheer occasion doesn't already (Huns for example). I've also had pretty shocking abuse from certain members of the group when politely asking them to suspend their display whilst the game was in play. Luckily on that occasion at Rugby Park there were other seats free to move to otherwise I just wouldn't have seen the game. (Can't remember if that was a good thing or a bad thing that day - can't remember what the score was.) Under no fucking circumstances should Aberdeen fans abuse each other in any way in a stadium. Fans should stick together. I'm happy to engage opposition supporters in some hearty banter and some slight ribbing but fans of the same team should stick together. All too often this doesn't happen. I dare say this specifically an AFC thing (although I'd be willing to bet it's worse with us than it is for others.) The last such incident that I can recall was the final home game of last season. Some absolutely disgraceful behaviour some a pensioner seated in the row behind us. We were 3-0 down sharpish to the Tims as you'll remember. Cue this old prick behind us taking his frustrations out on those around him. As Tom correctly pointed out you cannot see the whole pitch in the South Stand without standing up. Most of the rest of the stand was stood up too but this bell-end behind us decided that it was our fault that he was having to stand up to see and proceeded to smack my mate in the back with his walking stick. I don't give a shit how old you are - that is not acceptable and I told him so. He then tried to tell us that if we sit down those in front of us will sit down too. Nae sure how that works, pal. It works the other way round if it works at all. All the result of a man not emotionally mature enough to deal with his team getting a hiding. All too common in sports. I was disgusted to hear of a fan getting his nose broken by some fucking neanderthal after we got beat 2-1 by Dundee United at Hampden a few years back. I'd ban these cunts for life.

Federer is undoubtedly a class act. Always has been and always will be. In fact all the top guys are. In victory and in defeat they're respectful and conduct themselves in the spirit of the game. Unlike Tommy Rebredo : He was of course only joking. This was as a result of Andy saving 5 match points and then beating him in the final of a tournament last year (I think it was)

Appreciate the re-cap there of our exchange. You lied about "blind love". Where are you getting that from? You lied about this supposed "woe is me" mentality. Where are you getting that from? You're clearly not someone who watches tennis yet you feel adequately qualified to talk down to those who do because you and your wife have taken a personal dislike to a certain player. I have always understood how Andy could be disliked. He comes across as stubborn and hardheaded. I find the fuss being made over his "correction" of a journalist's "sexist" question embarrassing. But these traits also contribute to the formidable player that he is. Your dismissive and ignorant attitude towards bullying just because it's on the internet is disgraceful. Do you not think it can have an effect? Even a minor one? Just another thing that you're wrong about.
-
Again the irony of you bleating about other folk being dicks is lost on you. What was your comment at SeeBass then if not the ultimate in dickishness? Yer nothing but a bully.

A self-proclaimed intellect and all you can do is purposefully twist words (clearly aimed at the Union Jack) in a tactic used by half wit spastics all around the globe to win arguments online. Have a day off min.
-
Why are you purposely trying to make it seem like one day I said I loved the guy for many reasons but also said I wasn't a fan? And LOL @ Rocket telling folk nae to pick fights for the sake of it. You've been a ball hair away from getting banned for years for that very thing. (It tends to be me that urges against bans as well) One thing I don't understand is why folk who aren't Andy Murray fans would even bother looking at an Andy Murray thread.

Pretty shite. I doubt any of you affluent Donstalkers would ever lower yourselves to shopping at Home Bargains. Obviously I don't either but I, er, heard that the new Dons away top and their uniform are almost fucking identical. New Dons away kit: Home Bargains staff uniform:

Maybe you should follow that advice rather than try and poke fun at members whose relationships have broken down.

Aye but she's 37 and facing prison for causing death by dangerous driving. That's got to be playing on her mind.

I don't wish Johanna any ill but I'm struggling to raise two fucks to give about her Wimbledon campaign. I'd have been more likely to support her if she stayed Aussie or Hungarian rather then turned English for the pennies. Unlike Australia the UK has a small pond of athletes to pick from for funding. "Jo" wasn't considered good enough (or to have had enough potential) when she was Aussie so they cut her funding. Hence her move to the UK. Nothing wrong with any of that.. I just don't get the fawning over her because she now plays under a Union Jack. The outcry when the boy Bedene was denied the chance to take part in the Tennis World Cup (Formerly Davis Cup) for GB was absolutely ridiculous. I'd rather have a drug-addled Dan Evans representing "my country" than some Slovakian dude.

What evidence have you got that I'm justifying anything with his knighthood? If it was up to me he'd have turned the fucking thing down. What a strange choice of words. He got the knighthood because he's achieved so much (I presume) where no other Brits (sorry but that's what we are until we vote otherwise) have. Hopefully Mrs Rocket puts out soon because I can't be arsed with this clearly frustrated Rocket and his pedantry today.
-
Nae my fault this country is full of no voting cunts. Let me know if you get a nibble at that "mistake" thing.
-
Delighted. Glad he's happy here. I mind when he first came on loan he wasn't keen to extend it but he's obviously realised that Aberdeen isn't quite the back water that most Mancs imagine it is. And I've always enjoyed his outspoken manor towards the Tims.
-
I think Fed will win it now. Which is gutting because all those pompous twats sitting at Wimbledon cheering for him grinds my gears no end. Brown nosed cunts.
-
I'd have said the same about Nadal until yesterday! My metaphorical money's on Federer. He's got an aura about him again and folk are scared of him. Andy's form isn't quite there and I doubt his fitness too. And aye.. I can't get on board the Konta bandwagon. Nae a Brit. (not that I am either obvs). I did support Henman though back in the day.
-
I love the guy for a few reasons. He embodies the attributes that we all wish more of our sportsmen had. How much better would our football team be if they had even half the heart of Andy? How good would they be if they had a fraction of the grit that Andy has? How good would they be if they had even a little bit of the dedication that Andy has? More often than not footballers aren't willing to go without a drink or a night oot. Andy has barely had one in his life. How good could we be if we weren't all a bunch of spineless gormless cunts? You and your wife are free to leave the room at any point and miss out on the best sportsman this country will ever produce (and I'm talking UK, not Scotland, hence the knighthood) just because you can't deal with him having a driven mother. Many of the players have their parents watching their matches. I can't understand why there's always a fuss made about Andy's. At one tournament a player even shouted up at his mother "Cheer loudly or leave!". Imagine the attention Andy would get if he did that? Did Fognini collapse or did a better, fitter, tougher and harder player grind him down? If you're nae a tennis fan the best advice I can give you is don't watch tennis. And if you are a tennis fan you're cutting of your nose to spite your face.

Welcome back SeeBass. I myself lost my Mum when I was 19 very suddenly so I can relate. Let this relatively good time to be a Dandy help you through.
-
I think you'll find big Kari is about 6 weeks younger.
-
I admit I'm nae a fan either but remembering that he publicly backed Scottish independence always makes me feel better.
-
I never saw it but the Kazakh boy was hopeless. I heard Andy looked in pain but didn't manage to catch much of the match.

Pretty sure we launch scrunched up paper all the time too. As funny as it would be it'd be pretty embarrassing if a big deal was made of it. -
