  1. Although the loss of TV revenue will hurt us, I really, really hope these fuckers go under.
  2. I don't think debt is an issue. I doubt that Hibs have a budget much larger than ours, and in terms of wages we know that isn't the case either. I'd say that apart from salary, the biggest determining factor that would limit a manager coming to us is location. Relative to most other places, Aberdeen is a fucking backwater.
  3. I'd rather have Barry Chuckle.
  4. "The Northern Light"
  5. Yeah, hoops that don't go all the way round the shirt. Mon' the hoops.
  6. Technically, he is always 'up for sale' and no, no-one has 'bought' him thus far.
  7. I caught a glimpse of Davie Provan's 'column' in the News of the World today. In it he says that (paraphrasing) "Aberdeen used to be a club that was well respected for its dignity and integrity... Not anymore." What an absolute fucking cretin. Since when has he ever praised AFC for its integrity? Not that I'm surprised by this arsehole and I suppose its what I should expect for even daring to read the NOTW. Hun fuck.
  8. From Michael Grant in the Sunday Herald: Overall, a good piece and I think he makes an important point when Calderwood was talking himself up for another job earlier in the season. There is no doubt that if a Championship club came in for JC he'd be off like a shot (we'd probably have let him too...). That was exactly what he was wanting, although the way in which his departure has happened was not as he expected. As ever, Calderwood has talked himself out of a job with his "just get the pay-offs done" comment.
  9. Whilst Dean Windass might be a good laugh and a great character I'd question what he could bring to AFC in any sort of capacity.
  10. According to a statto on the BBC Live Text:
  11. FA cup final on Setanta? I thought there was a rule that said that the final of national cup competitions must be on terrestrial television?
  12. When I saw the title I thought it was going to be a thread about a certain other AFC fansite...
  13. Yep, its great IMO. The more players that we have that earn international caps the better the squad we'll be. Aluko will only become a better player because of it. Besides its not as though we're going to lose any other players to, ooh, say the Scotland squad or anything!
  14. Yeah, I knew that this username would have a limited life. But its been a good five years, and we've achieved a lot. There has been highs and lows, yadda, yadda... Someone has already suggested I change it to that, so if MMG gets the job my new name will be MarkyMark.
  15. Sky +'d this earlier and just watching it now. LOL at the group therapy session when the woman asks them to visualise themselves in a field. "How long is the grass?" she asks, "I'm up to my knees in fucking cow pat"
  16. Are you living in last week? This has already happened.
  17. "I don't like it, I'm going to wear my [insert Premiership team here] strip instead"...
  18. Just a small note, but Aberdeen FC average attendances are up by 935 fans per game on last season, from an average of 11,994 to 12,929. If you assume that these supporters that fluctuate are pay at the gate fans then for an average ticket, receipts over the course of the season are 'up' approx £375k. In fact, over the last few seasons in the SPL (relative to our peers): Even though attendances under JC have sliden from his initial high (as with any new manager), they are still on average 2,540 higher than the season prior to him joining AFC. I don't doubt that crowds show a decline in the last few seasons under JC, however they are not exactly in freefall either as others would suggest. Comparing with our peers, they are probably the most stable attendance figures and this season they are back up to our 1995 - 2000 average of just under 13k.

  20. PM here please someone.
  21. Precisely. We'd me making a Boo Boo if we let him in charge.
  22. Given that the players themselves had no idea of JCs departure before he announced it himself post Hibs match, I'd very much doubt that any of the players have much of a clue about who is going to be replacing him. Particularly when the board are meeting tomorrow to kickstart the search for a new manager. I'm not doubting you Jager, I just think people believe the players know a whole lot more than they actually do.
  23. Odds are from Victor Chandler. (whoever he is) http://www.victorchandler.com/coupon_outright.jsp?&eid=151606000&eid=&ot=205400
  24. Ok, I'll bite. Willie Miller himself in his own response to JC says: Are you really that fucking dense? So who do you believe? Our DoF, God, Sir William of Miller or that 'Fat Orange C*nt', 'buffoon' or whatever else you want to call him? You can't have it both ways you utter, utter gonk. We're in Europe and JC is gone. Get over it and lets move on.
