  1. ...and the most 'important game' of the weekend is of course....Hamilton Vs. Inverness Caley Thistle. I doubt Richard Gordon actually believes that!

  3. This one is my favourite: Jesus. Does anyone want to give him an abacus so he can work this one out for himself? Nah, fuck it I'm feeling generous today - give him a calculator.
  4. http://www.setanta.com/uk/Blogs/John-Hartson/2009/01/That-was-unfair-on-Celtic/ What a bitter, bitter man Hartson really is. It sums up the mentality of teams like Celtic when things don't go their way. Hartson, Strachan, Lennon and Pendrey and the rest of your bitter little entourage in the media : Get it right fucking round you.
  5. The College bar has Peroni on draught I'm sure, and if I remember correctly the Globe does too. I like the odd pint of Peroni if I am out for one, at that price I don't fancy drinking it all night. I can't say I've ever seen an advert for it though?

  9. Tonight, I have been mostly drinking Tanqueray & Tonic. Slightly worse for wear for it.
  10. Yaaaaasssss! Contract signing in the broom cupboard!
  11. He would also never train on an artificial pitch like the one at Strikers...

    Andy Murray

Great win from Murray! 1st time he's beaten both Nadal and Federer in the same competition. Does he have it in him to win a Grand Slam event this year?
  16. I'm making Ian Huntley and Alex Allan available for transfer if anyone wants them.
  17. Yeah, its almost like a few seasons ago when we had Anderson at the back. We had one of the best defences in the league, and conceded nowhere near as many goals as our closest rivals. Our problem then was scoring, with too many draws as a result. At the moment, we seem to be able to score goals from the front. midfield and from our defenders while keping things tight at the back. As long as this form continues, theres no reason we won't be in the hunt for 3rd at the end of the season.
  18. Its just as likely to be written in CRAYON or their own SHIT.
  19. I think the attendance is a function of a number of different factors. Result of the previous match/current form + opponents + weather + cost of ticket + time of year + broadcast live on TV + league position and many other things all combine to make our attendance what it is. The best opportunity to maximise attendance are when all of the above go our way. The team and Jimmy can only control a number of these - i.e. league positioning/form etc. and the club can control ticket prices and marketing of AFC. The rest are all circumstantial and we have no control over... A game against Rangers or in the UEFA Cup will sell itself, and ticket prices aren't necessarily a problem to maximise the attendance. Likewise a game against Falkirk will always be poorly attended - no matter what kind of ticket deals you have. Give to much away and you risk losing profitability and alienating your ST holders who paid for their tickets up front in the hope of getting a cheaper deal. Keeping the core of your support for each game, and selling out the corporate hospitality each week as a base is vital to keep a steady cash flow. The bigger games against the OF, domestic cup games and games in Europe are bonuses which are key to getting out of our debt...these games will be better attended and the club should be taking advantage of that. There is no silver bullet to this football-wide problem...except some silverware maybe - but even that will only have a temporary effect. Lowering all ticket prices is not the answer.
  20. I think that could be said for most of the players in the team right now. Everyone is getting plenty of time in a settled team, a bit of consistency for a change. It shows with our build-up play and passing - the players are becoming comfortable with each others role and favoured positions. Coupled with a run of form to increase confidence further - its all paying off. For a few games now we have started to look convincing, and dare I say it - quite entertaining while also providing the wins that are needed for a European spot. Hearts were the first big test that we have faced, we'll need to show more of the same against the OF in January to really make the chase for 3rd interesting.
  21. JDV was a workhorse for us yesterday, excellent in attack and determined when chasing back. Miller had a decent game, and almost deserved the MOTM for his strike alone. Kerr was industrious as ever, Foster had an excellent game keeping Driver quiet for the whole match, Seve also put in a solid performance as did Diamond - evident by the lack of threat to Langdfields goal. Mackie was busy, put in some decent runs on goal, positioned himself well but struggled to finish. I thought that McDonald, Aluko and Langfield had a quiet match, but didn't really put a foot wrong either. I would say the only disappointment was Considine. He struggled to fit in that left back position, with some poor clearances which put us under more pressure than was necessary. Not his favoured position but he did a job. JDV for me. Easily his best game in a red shirt.
