  1. Just a standard pre-match interview really, nothing too contentious there. I see he is not actually quoted as 'wanting to silence the Dons critics'... As ever the talking will be done on the pitch.
  2. The bottom line typically shows the volume of stocks traded on any given day.
  3. I hope he lives up to the hype. Come on Tommy, bring the pain!
  4. I'd rather have an inspiring captain with a bit of fire in his belly than a wimp and poor motivator. Anderson was the only exception... a quiet captain, perhaps too quiet at times but he led by example. The additional responsibility might even be enough for Zander to keep in control.
  5. Its not fitness that is Fosters problem, its his ability or lack thereof.
  6. Obvious to everyone apart from the manager. In the first half, Aluko had pretty much free reign down the wing and delivered crosses which were all unanswered by our 'strikers'. He looked more of a threat than the lot of them put together, and was unlucky when his freekick hit the crossbar - not bad for an unfit player. In the second half, Hamilton realised that Aluko was our only threat and then marked him out of the game. However a 'fully fit' Maguire did a great job, eh?
  7. As ever, typical Aberdeen. When we went 1-0 up and the RDS started doing the 'easy' chant , I said to my mate: "that'll be us throwing away the lead then..." Next time it happens I'll be leaving the stadium because I'll know exactly what to expect!
  8. Aluko for me. Despite not being fully fit he resembled more of a footballer than anyone else in an AFC shirt yesterday. He's got pace, skill and can competently deliver a ball into the box from the left and also was a threat from set pieces. Fair enough he wasn't at 100% fitness, but that'll come soon with match practice. We've been waiting for fucking years with losers such as Foster and Mackie in the hope that one day they will look like footballers so I don't see the problem with giving Aluko a run of matches to prove himself. Everyone else was distinctly average/substandard and don't even get me started on the tactics/player selections from the manager.
  9. Unacceptable.
  10. Must be a medical thing... ...is that why he was always running around in circles?
  11. Saying that, being 3rd choice keeper with Scotland is a bit like being 3rd choice kitman... Should be good for his confidence though, another string to add to his bow and all that. Good luck Jamie.
  12. The amount of food dropped by spectators certainly reflects the quality of our pies. They're shite.
  13. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7569616.stm Slim will be getting ready for some points...
  14. Something like that I'd imagine. They'd also have to convene a disciplinary committee to review the incident within the next 3 days before Wright could miss the Rangers game. Highly unlikely, but I wouldn't put it past the SFA!
  15. If the referee, linesmen and fourth official all missed the incident then if Motherwell decide to ask for an appeal, can the SPL use video evidence to punish Wright? I'm pretty sure they can and so I expect him to be banned for the Rangers game if serious enough! No doubt the SPL disciplinary committee will be able to meet at short notice whereas it usually takes about 3-4 months for an OF player...
  16. SeaBass, I think what bloo is trying to say with his post is that it is simple enough to suggest that supporters should be showing up in huge numbers for fixtures against Inverness etc. but there are just as many complex reasons why people don't show up to these games just as you have yourself. I very much doubt that you are the only one that has so many barriers to attending as many games as you'd like. Money is one you mentioned, or more correctly value for money. If I were in a position to choose, I'd pay an extra few quid to see Aberdeen play Rangers rather than save a few pounds to watch them play the likes of StMirren. I bet just as many families have this issue, and many other issues to contend with before they go to a football match on a weekend.
  17. I don't think SeaBass is a cunt. I'm just questioning his logic. I made a tongue in cheek comment about you having written a book, because you go on about it in almost every post with a shameless plug to it. Nothing malicious meant by it. I'm certainly not jealous and you have every right to be proud. In fact, since its a book about supporting the Dons then more power to you. However, in this thread you seem to be living in some sort of uberfan dreamland...
  18. Theoretically it's a great idea, but then there is this thing called reality. You haven't actually proved that when we have a large crowd with a vocal support = victory. Sure you can recall the Copenhagen game or Bayern Munich, but I can also recall the cup semi-finals with a large vocal support, away trips to Madrid with thousands of fans or countless games against the OF with large crowds, new year sell outs against Inverness etc. and we achieved the square root of fuck all. Its an idiotic logic that suggests more fans = win games.
  19. Have you written a book? I'd never have known!
  20. Come on lads, its a topic that probably enters every fans mind before the start of a new season. What next? "Copying" team line up threads before a match?
  21. Yaaas! A big tough bastard. Just what we need up front. He is the ying to Lee Miller's yang.
  22. The AFC Fans Forum is like having BBC's Question Time with Robert Mugabe in Zimbabwe. Only Bob is a lighter shade than JC.
  23. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/7540038.stm Gooooaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll for One Bobby Clark!
  24. Just finished reading Ewan McGregor & Charlie Boorman's Long Way Down and getting the itch for a motorbike as my next purchase instead of a new car - I'm sure it'll pass when the winter draws in! Also picked up the classic Nineteen Eighty Four in the bargain bin, something I've not read in years.
  25. Yeah, I'd accept but under protest.
