FJ, Ajja will have to punt Oscar Niemeyer as I already have him.

This graph actually gives me some encouragement that something right is being done down Pittodrie way in a financial sense. Next years financial results will include last seasons European run and some key player transfers which I'd hope would show us having one of the best financial years for a long time. Everything hinges on the new stadium and the financing structure to pay for it. Without crippling debts its clear that AFC can be run as a profitable business. If we start off again at 'new Pittodrie' with a similar amount of debt (or greater) then we're going to be struggling for years again. This is where SM needs to make the choice to invest or GTF or we'll continue with the mediocrity.

How far do you live from the team you support?

Aye, come on folks don't be shy. Come on in and introduce yersels. I'm intrigued about this ? ? ? fella. Tell us all about yourself mate, its all a bit of a mystery?

Totally agree on the first part. On the second point, I think they have already shown last season that they can have it altered if they don't like it. It'll happen again this season, guaranteed.
-
Aye cos the likes of Alex Ferguson and Felipe Scolari run rings round their players in training to set 'an example'.

I don't really get to attached to my old strips. There are guys walking about in Dnipropetrovsk and Madrid with my last two Dons tops on...
-
I'll be buying it.

I think that'd be quite good if true. I'd heard that it was likely to be an Oil Services company so wouldn't be surpised if it were Weatherford. Nice red logo so wouldn't look out of place on the strip. Just glad its nae BJ services!

12. Some Aberdeen fans really are only here to see The Rangers.

Friendly against Man U - 12th July

What does irritate me is how a team with such documented financial constraints during the transfer window always manages to transport a full squad of players and support staff for a few weeks at some sunny destination for pre-season training? What is the problem with letting other sides come to us for a change at pre-season and saving a bit of cash? -
Season 2007/2008 - How was it for you?
BrownyBrown replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
At the start of the season I commented that I would have been content by giving a good account of ourselves in our European game, a decent cup run and a solid top six position. Now, given that it is still possible for us to finish in 4th - the above may well come true, but it still leaves me feeling deflated. Yeah, on paper it sounds good but it doesn't actually reflect reality. The European adventure was great and by far my best experience of following Aberdeen. Dnipro was magnificent even if our tactics that night resembled Walter Smiths in the Uefa Cup. But hey, we scored a goal and deserved to go through. Copenhagen night was superb and looking back, if you'd said that the price to pay was that we'd scrape into the top 6 with shite performances for the majority of the season - I'd still accept it, just for that feeling again. To top it off with playing Bayern, matching them at home and getting a fantastic trip to the Allianz - thats the stuff of dreams given recent seasons. The reality: quite mediocre and at times, incredibly poor footballing performances with the ultimate low of the defeat to Queen of the South and embarrasing defeat at the hands of Utd. Good cup runs, which should have ended in at least one final and certainly European football again next season. That hurt, and truthfully - it still does. So much so that I still haven't decided on my season ticket renewal until we rebuild the squad. Yet, the season isn't over. A 4th place finish and denying Rangers the league on the last day of the season may just be enough for me to have my faith restored in AFC for next season. Because I'm a fickle bastard. -
Where would you have a season ticket and why?
BrownyBrown replied to capitalsharpie's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Spent the last two seasons in RDU, a few seasons before that in the South Stand at the half-way line, one season in the Main Stand with my old man and before that in between South & Merkland. I think next season if I decide to renew, I'll give the RDL a try. Not so big queues for food & drink, no stairs, Ladbrokes... -
Nicholson: it’s time to look at goal-line technology
BrownyBrown replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
We need to improve the referees we currently have instead of trying to introduce technology which will only complicate things further. Introducing a video replay of an incident only leaves things open to further interpretation - not necessarily the correct decision. Football is a simple game, and thats the way it should stay - the more in touch Professional football is with the game that kids play in the park, the better. -
I was invited for the Friday night but also turned it down. Some of the speakers / entertainment sounded terrible. George Burley and Donnie Munro?

From what I understood of our situation with Motherwell, was that the SPL agreed to a change of fixture providing that both clubs agreed to it and the police gave their approval. I seem to remember that the fixture change was rejected by Motherwell due to the loss of income through corporate hospitality and ticket sales being cited as the main reason for their decision. Now, again we have a similar situation with an SPL club requesting changes to fixtures to help themselves in Europe. So I think we have two possibilities here: The SPL allowed the fixture change providing all clubs involved agreed. OR The SPL made its own decision to change the fixtures, without consulting anybody - contradicting the precedent which had been set. I don't think AFC agreed to this did they?

Text speak alert. Is this what we have to expect now that the nuggets are leaving AFChat en masse?
-
I hope that statement means exactly as it reads to me. i.e. more useless cunts to follow him out the door shortly...

I think that if you'd 'ripped up a contract' i.e. breached the terms and conditions of the contract then you'd still be legally bound to the penalties or termination clauses that would be written into the contract. Ripping up a contract doesn't terminate it I would say, it only terminates one copy of it. You'd have to actuall break the T&C's for there to be any penalties. I'm no lawyer though.

AFC Player of the season - Zander Diamond AFC Goal of the season - Sone Aluko/Josh Walker versus Bayern Munich Bounce of the season - Dnipro away end Game of the season - Copenhagen AFC Cunt Award - JC And in other catagories SPL Cunt of the season - Gordon Strachan SPL Shitest player of the season - McNamara Best grub award - Small tapas bar next to our hotel in Madrid Best away boozer - Got to be the Augustiner.
-
McNamara and Soutar are both fucking shite and can feel free to fuck off anytime. Cheerio.
-
Its only a good deal if we go on to do something which can add value to our squad in terms of quality using the £200k that we got for Clark. If we don't do anything with it then its not a good deal at all - just getting rid of another squad player. I don't doubt that it was a good piece of business, but it remains to seen if that will translate to anything on the pitch. So far, no.
-
For me, a lot depends on what happens between this season and next. If he decides go through with the clear out then, I'll give whoever he brings in a chance to prove themselves before I commit to parting with my cash. If JC decides that the likes of McNamara, Duff, Bus, Mair, Soutar etc. have a place at our club next season then no, I won't be renewing until JC is gone. He has been here a number of seasons now, and we can well and truly say that this is a team of his own making and not inherited from predecessors.

Because I'll be at the front with the biggest fucking pitch fork.
