  1. Conversely it has been well documented how desperate we are to make signings. Getting targets, trials and medicals all take time and getting them organised before the transfer deadline is very difficult indeed. Its highly likely that the players named here are the only ones we'll be looking at and so I'm sure the agents representing them are well aware of our situation. Not to say that we'll be dropping drawers, but we need to show our hand at some point and make a move. This slow dance around deadline day isn't desirable for anyone IMO.
  2. I hope so MB. Let's hope that Kerr has a point to prove. This may be the right motivation for him to control himself - last season he lacked maturity and I don't see what has changed since then.
  3. It's a choice, whether it turns out to be a good one remains to be seen. Of the three most likely candidates: Diamond, McDonald and Kerr I think he's picked the worst in terms of captain material.

  5. A chorus of boos?
  6. Gets us embarrassingly papped out of Europe before the season starts?
  7. I've witnessed this sort of shite following Aberdeen FC before. Each time I'm utterly astounded by the absolute pondlife that follows our club into Europe. They are no Aberdeen fans at all if thats they way they carry on. It's pathetic.
  8. Waving flags, hooters, banging a tambourine, throwing toilet roll, out of time/tune singing....all tolerable offences that the RU have been guilty off through the years in the name of 'improving the atmosphere' at Pittodrie. But this latest act is utterly indefensible. Particularly in the wake of the grief from UEFA we received following the Dnipro match. Although it wasn't the RU on that occasion, surely they should have learned from it? You are costing our club money we can't afford, and its our hard earned cash that will go towards paying off the fine to the detriment of our club. Fuck off you utter cunts.
  9. Yep, very retro. Cool.
  10. Aye, but you'll be getting fucking curtains delivered that day, so probably won't make it yet again... Cheerio OBC.
  11. Tea. Lots of tea. On a midnight to midday shift...coffee will just cause havoc with the body clock. One sugar, don't be shy with the milk. Thanks.
  12. Would any of you lot trust a manager who put that defensive line-up out last night with any considerable sort of transfer fee kitty? I'd be having serious fucking doubts if it was me parting with my cash...erm, hold on a minute...it is!
  13. Zipslides are easy. Good way to raise money for charidee though! Have fun whoever does it.
  14. I'd hate to be going to the away leg now.... Oh, and just how many times are we going to hear about "JC's legacy"...and the "state he's left us in"...
  15. Well thats that fucked then. I'm not calling for MM's head, far from it. But should the management of AFC, whether on the financial side or the footballing side not come up with the resources to make a good attempt at this season then its going to be a very short tenure indeed.
  16. I'm not getting the live commentary either out here. Gay. I'd appreciate it if this thread could be kept updated with the score. Ta.
  17. You mean Heidsieck?
  18. To be fair, surely Didi Hamman will get this honour?
  19. Mods, please delete this admin....erm, I mean thread...
  20. Easily. At least Stoney will be able to return now that Calderwood is gone... Oh, whats that you say? He's already returned? Oh well, nevermind then....
  21. Ehhh? Schumacher is probably one of the best things to have happened to F1 in recent history! The controversy that surrounded him, particularly with incidents with Damon Hill, Jaques Villeneuve, his confrontations with Coulthard was some of the only exciting moments to have happened in F1 in recent years. Schumacher racing in wet weather was something to behold too... If its boring you are after then see: K. Raikonnen, M. Hakkinnen, L. Hamilton, D. Hill, J. Button.....zzzzzzzzzz
  22. Yes. Now, obviously success on the park translates into business success (or at least it should) so in terms of quality of football, results and financial success it may have been the correct long term decision...only time will tell and I'm willing to give Duncan, Willie and Mark the benefit of the doubt to go out and achieve that. However, to state that the contractual payoffs of three coaching staff does not have an impact on the transfer and wages budget available when finances at the club are so tight is bordering on the ludicrous.
  23. I'm glad the club are being open about the situation on the transfer dealings front, but I'm sure everyone is well aware of the situation that SPL clubs are in this season. The recession and its impact on Setanta television deal is fairly common knowledge as it was probably headline news on the BBC for about a week or so. I'm hoping though that this isn't a case of getting excuses in early. I'd be more than slightly concerned if this same soundbite was being used as the transfer window closes and we still are no further with any activity. It fair enough to state that its the whole of Scottish football that finds itself in this situation, but its also the case that other SPL sides are still able to sign players. http://www.donstalk.co.uk/messageboard/index.php/topic,9302.0.html The 'state of Scottish football' line will be scant consolation and look rather silly if there are no movements before the transfer deadline. If the operating conditions at the club right now are as impoverished as is being claimed then it makes the decision to sack JC, JN & SC with the resulting payoffs all the more difficult to understand from a business perspective.
  24. A solid target is nothing until he is signing on the dotted line in the broom cupboard.
