  1. josh certainly didn't drag him down, but he had his arm wrapped around his neck right in front of the ref. was madness. just like leaving a leg hanging out for some cheating wee prick to fall over. i'm not angry that it was given now that i've seen it. hearts were shit, and our midfield not being there meant we couldn't stop the attack, or get anything going ourselves. 2-0 was an inevitable outcome. next couple games are absolutely huge.
  2. So much for that 2nd 1.5m then! http://m.scotsman.com/sport/football/top-football-stories/no-windfall-for-spl-clubs-as-celtic-advance-1-2679514
  3. what "next" is there though? we've had this crop of prospects around for a while. Not heard anything to suggest there's more coming through of same standard. fair enough it's probably disappointment talking but the '2 full games played' is a red herring. he's been by far and away the best player on the pitch in around a dozen league games this season. we are a much poorer side without him. youth development is vital, but all we're doing is barely covering costs of developing a player, and any money raised goes straight to the bank. there's no ambition in this set up, so little wonder the players feel the need to move on asap.
  4. Thing is an all, we have a few good players we need to keep. A kid saying he's too good for this level is bound to influence older people to think, "well if he is so am i!". Year after year seeing what could be a good team disintegrate without time to achieve anything makes it increasingly difficult for me to enjoy football. Grimmer, Fyvie, Fraser - we develop them for other teams and get fuck all out of it. Great timing to release the news too. Day before a massive game. Awesome.
  5. Aye manc, tbf the horrendous treatment he's had from opposition hatchet men can't have encouraged him to stay.
  6. Greedy. A couple months with positivity threatening to break out in aberdeen and it's over before it began. We're a joke.
  7. This is why I'd love to see a group stage to the league cup, it'd give at least a couple of competitive games perfect for giving a young keeper a run out. Also why a winter break - with small friendly tournament somewhere warm against decent sides would be a good idea to see how the fringe players have developed since the start of the season.
  8. it may or may not be a good idea from the fans' pov. in one way it's a shame as each tournament has a particular identity, and there's a lot more nationalities mingling. if they want more fans to have access then they need to first look at their awful prohibitive ticket pricing. mainly i think it reflects the fact that staging a major competition in its entirety is a luxury very few (if any) countries in europe can afford. without something like this, spain, greece, italy would probably not bid for anything for many a year, whereas the odd game here or there they'd be more likely to. of course it's as much about kick-backs as anything too. but again, if more people can bid, the money the corrupt cunts can demand gets driven up.
  9. would be more of a gesture if they donated it to the small businesses and public services they screwed out of cash in the first place. though of course this cash will be a mere drop in the ocean.
  10. Uefa paid spl 1.5m for celtic reaching group, another 1.5 for qualifying. Split 12 ways that's 250k for every team. Obviously i was still hoping to see them humped, but that's cash we hadn't budgeted for.
  11. Celtic's windfall makes afc over £200,000 doesn't it?
  12. "Brown eye's big impact from Shaughnessy"
  13. I fucking am also. apparently these english don't see 2nd January as a public holiday
  14. this is a threat to all of scottish football. 'bend over for us when we tell you to, or we'll make you suffer'. i sincerely hope this summer taught scottish football bosses they need to stand up to this bully-boy shite. i also sincerely doubt it. in hindsight, we should never even have called for them to go into div 3 - bending the rules to accommodate them. their continued presence in scottish football tarnishes the whole set-up. they should've been made to fuck off completely like gretna.

  16. I guess that'd be Jan 2010 when we did them 3-0. We're a better side now and they're much worse. But injuries are going to be a worry for the foreseeable! In/oot: In for the first time in ages Prematch: Train, then a saunter in the freezing pishy rain Match: Roseburn Stand Postmatch: blootered Prediction: a win, a loss, or a draw - either with goals or with no goals.
  17. fuck me that's unreal.
