When was the email written? Milne's statements both came out after this considering it refers to June 28th as being in the future. The second half of is in the public domain already and surely can't reflect the clubs' positions after all the votes etc. Can't see how the bit highlighted could possibly happen without a complete reversal of every commitment the clubs have so far made to their fans.

Michael Paton has had a fucking bizarre Aberdeen career.

According to DST's calculations - An attendance of 19,000 at Pittodrie vs Ross County on Aug 11th will wipe out the defecit from old Rangers travelling support in 1 fixture :AFC2: :AFC2:

As much as it's been said before - and rightly - that Thomson's objectivity has been a breath of fresh air from the complicit and thoroughly corrupt Scottish sports media, it beggars belief that really no one else but him has spotted the magnitude of the story. But just thank fuck someone did I suppose, or the propaganda may have been more effective up to now. Also, Chick Young and Tom English should never be allowed to forget their pathetic mocking of a real journalist. It's people like those cunts that undermine public trust in the entire industry.

AFC STILL officially say NO TO HUNS NEW CO
maverick sheep replied to BigAl's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Aside from the raving lunatics Regan/Cockwomble and their power to undermine the whole of Scotland, the only worry I'd have is that 12 months down the line newco get invited into a new SPL2. I mean there has to be some logical reason why Regan/Cockwomble are persisting with the same bullshit even now. If there isn't then these two men need to be sectioned immediately. Also, there must be a reason why these two haven't been kicked out of Scottish fitba by now. In the media they come across like they are acting completely alone, but I don't understand how can that be the case. We'll see what happens on monday and hopefully we can finally get on and put this disgraceful summer of mismanagement and incompetence behind us. If these cunts are still in their jobs when the season kicks off I'll be ashamed if a single game on matchday one doesn't feature some Regan/Cockwomble OUT banners! iViva la revolucion de futbol! -
Charles Patterson from Sky reiterating that Monday's SPL meeting will have both readmittance for newco to SPL and formation of SPL2 on agenda. If it wasn't already so contemptible it'd be staggering that after several unanimous decisions to put newco into div 3 and widespread approval of many other suggested league reforms, nothing is being proposed by the people running the game apart from the very two things that everyone has repeatedly rejected. Let's not forget that "sporting integrity" is not met with newco going to div 3 at all. That is still throwing out the rule book on behalf of just one team. It is a massive compromise on behalf of the fans and other clubs to even allow that much. And yet Regan/Cockwomble are still so greedy that they won't accept that. Maybe can't even SEE it. I don't blame Green for wanting to chance it and get in as high a league as possible, and after having demanded div 3, it'd be very unfair to suddenly tell the seemingly sensible majority of (currently unattached) huns that they can't get in the professional set up at all after all. But this is now being dragged out when there literally is nothing left that can possibly happen out with newco to div 3 other than a hell of a lot of people being openly betrayed by their clubs and by their governing body. One way or the other Regan/Cockwomble are of a mind that fans are fickle and no matter how this turns out, people will swallow what they're given like a bunch of unthinking chumps. I want to know what happens if those who have already bought a season ticket are told it's too late to get it refunded. Will they still turn up? This is shaping up to be the biggest footballing swindle in history.

Major Restructuring in the Pipeline for SPL
maverick sheep replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Power for SFL bods if the vote gets approval implies a yes vote is being incentivised based on yet more corporate greed. Also interesting that for the next couple of years there will essentially be 4 governing bodies for Scottish football - SFA, SPL, SFL, and SPL-SFL-working-group-hybrid. Time for me to cash my chips in I think. Looks like absolutely zero possibility of the newco not being immediately given a double promotion so I can't imagine I'll be back at a game again. Sad, but I couldn't get any enjoyment out of watching this charade any longer. -
If they did, and they'd listened to what the overwhelming majority of fans wanted, it would have spelled financial armageddon and the slow lingering death of Scottish football.

My memory might be failing me given all the jiggery pokery, but of the three clubs (Stenhousmuir, Brechin, Dumbarton?) to come out saying "Rangers" need to go to div 1, two of them happen to be sitting on the board. And the statements from those clubs came out after Longmuir (?) said the process needed to be free from further undue influence. I genuinely can't think of an election anywhere on earth as blatantly rigged as this. Scottish football makes Mugabe look democratic.

5/1 for the US Open. Same odds as last year or two, but he's a far far better player between the ears than previous seasons. Previous three finals he was a boy against a man, today he was a man against a legend.

Murray needs to get more first serves in because Federer won't keep making so many unforced errors. Fucking hell the nerves have got me fair keechin ma breechs!!

and... :ultras: :ultras:

Very possibly. always the perfect type of pub question because when it comes down to it there's no fundamentally correct answer. Best to have played with a modern racquet is more close to definite. Thing that bugs me about Federer's career from the point of view of spectator is Nadal, Djokovic being a couple years too young and Samprass, Agassi a couple years too old for Federer to have really been pushed to his limits during his best years. After the glandular fever Federer's never been back to quite that level and the other two past him by more or less. Kind of like in boxing if the best fighters were rarely in the same weight division at the same time. But...C'mon Murray! Actually still think Murray is going to win several slams, even if not this one tomorrow. Federer won't be around that long, Nadal's knees are probably about to explode and Djokovic isn't going to win everything for the remaining few years.

notice the introduction of rangers to div 1 requires agreements being reached with spl clubs. To my mind that would strongly suggest that the outcome of the meeting on 13th will be some sort of hastily arranged spl2, designed to accommodate newco, but presented as being the structural change that fans have called for. If this comes to pass then I'm out. I'd be inclined to give money to AFC if satisfied that they have voted against such a move, but I'd have no more interest in watching Scottish football. Really it'd cease to be a sport by even the most simple definition, and would become (confirmed as) a stage-managed procession.
