  1. Far as i know her majesty's glasgow celtic are favourites to get him.
  2. No better than McArdle at CB and probably more expensive.
  3. Ticketus contract with Rangers 'is being terminated' Administrators at Rangers Football Club have told Ticketus they are terminating its contract over future season ticket sales, it has been claimed. The claim was made by Charles Green, who is leading the consortium which is on track to take over the club. London-based Ticketus are owed £26.7m from a deal struck with chairman Craig Whyte last May for the future sale of three years' worth of season tickets. Mr Whyte gave personal guarantees to Ticketus over capital issued to Ibrox. Earlier this month, Ticketus formally launched legal action against him over money it was owed. The finance firm purchased tickets from the club at the time of the businessman's takeover last May. Mr Green made the revelation about the Ticketus contract in a statement which followed several meetings with supporters' representatives. Price freeze "My initial thoughts prior to these meetings was that season tickets prices should be increased as they had not been raised in the last three years," he said. "However, taking on board the fans' concerns, I can confirm that when my consortium completes the purchase of Rangers and takes over the running of the club, season ticket prices will be frozen for next season. "The club's administrators have informed me they have written to Ticketus to terminate the agreement that is currently in place with the club and supporters can now take heart from the fact that season ticket sales will be as normal." He added: "Once we are in a position to issue season ticket renewals, and that will be as soon as possible, I would urge all fans to continue showing the tremendous support they have given to the club." Mr Green added that in view of the public announcement this week that the Plus Market was to close, the consortium intended to make arrangements to list Rangers Football Club on an alternative market "at the earliest opportunity". The English venture capitalist is leading a "worldwide consortium" which has agreed an £8.5m deal to buy Rangers. He has said there were 20 individuals in his consortium from Asia, the Middle East, Far East and the UK.
  4. the only thing funnier than them suggesting that would be them actually attempting it!
  5. going by his performances i suspect he's done regardless
  6. Aye the need to rebuild and inability to do it for the various reasons is why liverpool have reminded me of aberdeen the last few years. that's mainly why I'd be surprised if an older manager took the job on. Martinez for eg could fail, then go back to the level he's at now and have time to rebuild his career. In terms of the club, the old wise head and the club legend were catastrophies (I'm still talking about pool...) and with the club languishing, the up-and-coming manager is maybe less of a gamble now than it would've been in other years. Solskjaer to villa would be interesting! guessing lambert will get it but it'd be nice to have ole kicking about. i reckon young coaches should be like young players. man u could loan ole out to manage someone on a 2 year deal, with a view to him taking over at old trafford...
  7. Fair point. If I wasn't a miserable bastard so much of the time it wouldn't be so noticeable when football makes me jizz in my pants. My worry is that I might actually enjoy watching liverpool if they appoint Martinez (and bin the racist).
  8. you feeling ok? Martinez laid the foundations for Swansea reaching the top-flight then kept a garbage Wigan team up for two years - as I said, has achieved what he's been tasked with in each season in management. He's got as much of a football brain as there is around. Clarke has been as good an assistant as the EPL has had, and is credited by Mourinho for much of Chelski's success. Though to be fair, what would he know?
  9. No, but it would seem to guarantee that Mourinho won't be either. They've knocked back Steve Clark's offer of resignation apparently. Martinez/Clark combo would be a coaching dream team.
  10. ma ri bor maribor marimaribor nananananananana
  11. The only thing it boils down to is that Martinez has achieved what he was tasked with every season he's been a manager. And given the teams we're talking about he's mainly been asked to work miracles. Whether you think it's too soon is really down to gut feeling. I personally think it's the perfect time for him to make the step up. Wigan would be fucked.
  12. Aye about specific players I agree. But the manager's not to blame for the classic lazy journo tactic to produce chip paper. Either he says yes, no, or avoids answering whether he'd like a Man U loanee - the last of which will be taken to mean yes or no depending on the day's EE agenda. It's the Hayes/Hasselbaink blethering that I have a problem with. I always thought we were allowing agents to use us to talk up their players so that they'd then owe us a favour, but we never actually seem to call the favours in if that's the case
  13. it wasn't so much that martinez didn't know his best side i don't think. He was fucked by not having players capable of playing his system. Signing Beusejour transformed the team and they were able to start playing the way he wanted. At a team like pool he could attract some quality and build some great foundations.
  14. martinez and liverpool could be an outstanding combo for the long term.
  15. it's nae broon's fault the ee are lazy pricks. they ask every year "have you checked whether fergie has a player?" so what's the manager supposed to say?
  16. There are now as many weegie managers in the SPL as there are in the EPL
  17. ring em up and ask. all you need is to say you're a freelance journo, looking to place the story with the herald or whatever.
  18. Rangers being punished, AFC signing Hasselbaink, Scotland being able to afford Euro 2020/ever appearing in Euros. I'm getting fed up with all these delusional threads now!
  19. It does seem to have a whiff of portsmouth about it all.
  20. I'm not sure the 12 month ban on signings is actually all that relevant. If CVA then surely no money to sign/pay wages for at least a year. If liquidation then any penalties imposed on oldco cease to apply. Either way the 12 month ban seems more symbolic than anything.
  21. so when people said they'd get away with a slap on the wrists, that was actually an over-estimation? The only punishment is a fine, which will either be payable at a massively reduced rate, or non-applicable, depending on CVA or newco. Excellent. Fantastic. Amazing. Awesome.
  22. as a piss-sodden gutter-dwelling alchy, i feel this is an attack on my culture and must surely against my human rights.
  23. Advising Green on the takeover, former Rangers manager Graeme Souness insisted: "I'm the right man to talk to about tough decisions at the club. I signed a Catholic." (Various)
