surely this is great news - so long as the 10 chairmen stick together and don't cave in. call their bluff and let the tv deal fail, resign from the league, go it alone and invite all other scottish clubs to join the league on terms decided by the majority of founder members. Secure a new tv deal with sky or elsewhere, for less money in total, but surely no less money per club than it is now with those greedy robbing parasites. Even if it came to having a year of friendlies to get gate receipts, with no 'official' fixtures, and all senior players released, I'd rather take that, then start again - signing players in line with the budget any new tv deal afforded. In the medium to long term, surely* that would be better for the club(s). * of course the ransom/debt milne has against us would mean either he make the payments himself, or any friendlies get big enough crowds to manage the debt.
