My understanding is that if the match comes with an official cap, it means it's an internationally recognised "competitive" game. Fairly certain players can only switch allegiance following B matches, unders and internationals that aren't recognised on the FIFA calendar - most friendlies are. But yes, he has said he has no intention of playing for England as his Dad would be devastated. Comes across as very sensible and hard working in interviews too.
