Scum. You have the club you deserve...never having been to one myself of course It always seems to me like the rare AGMish meetings are such a corporate cop out - same as general elections every 5 years - people forget about most of the specifics, so the event passes off with little fuss. This type of face-to-face between club and fans should be a monthly duty, with proper representation for both sides, and a response to the previous months' issues/questions/complaints.

Club to appeal Pawletts red card v hibs
maverick sheep replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Rescinding the red and giving the same ban as aluko got is a fair cop. No right to complain about other teams cheating if we aren't happy to accept punishment ourselves. This should really be a massive season for Pawlett. He has to deliver the goods, not flop about like a daft wee fanny. -
osborne. he stopped hibs dominating the game. brown is certainly better than gonzo though. am happy for him and langfield to fight for the position and paw broon can concentrate on strengthening more important areas. We'll struggle without a couple of competent loan/short-term free transfers in Jan.

3 points thank fuck. awful game. truely woeful. That and the game at easter rd must be the worst games this season so far. Got 4 points from them though which is most important. my thinking is that everything evened itself out in that game up until the blizzard. A disgraceful dive by pawlett - would like to see the club fine him. Their rapist keeper should have saved it though. red card was blatant evening-up by the ref, but two wrongs certainly don't make a right! hibs had long enough to equalise. But the blizzard at the end definitely killed what was already only "football" by the skin of its teeth. Osbourne takes no shit so I really like him in the team, but maybe RB with Jack in the middle would create more over all. Can't help expecting us to get some horrific decisions against us now. Next two league games are make or break for our season too!

Osborne started out as a RB/CM apparently, and he moved to that position comfortably at Ibrox. The team actually got the upper hand and should probably have won. And obviously Jack started out as a CM before McGhee moved him to RB. So last night was no gamble at all. Milsom came advertised as a player who started out at LB, so instead of persisting with Clark/McArdle as occasional starting FBs, I'd like to see Milsom tried there. -
mcardle alone has surely made more individual errors leading directly to goals than the rest of the league combined!

St. Johnstone v Dons - *Tue 13th Dec

from beeb 1918: "The weather in Perth is foul and very changeable. It goes from foul to really stinking. In any case, the referee Steven Mclean has decided that the wind is tolerable, so it's game on." 1920: Here's what ref Steven Mclean had to say: "Fortunately, the pitch is fantastic and there are no concerns about the surrounding area. The only concern would be the overhead conditions, but it is not a constant and the players seem happy and comfortable with it. I have spoken to the managers, the chairman and the groundstaff and everybody involved seems prepared to give the game a chance." we'll rip these tonight. 1-0 -

He was on the bench once or twice near the start of the season, then not a word...now suddenly a 'long-term' injury again. Really hope he gets back and is as good as he was again. Anyone know if it's the same type of injury? It's almost like there could have been something newsworthy in that. Though of course a story would've been published, and I must have missed the story's entire existence. The news coverage of Aberdeen is really on the ball after all. Not at all lazy or obese. Back on topic, I don't envy any of you lot going tonight, but a win at this time of year is usually a good buzz coyr! -
This club is fucking dead and rotten.

I'd be happy enough if Brown took Willie Miller's job (doubt WM would be willing to take a pay cut and do something different) and we gave a younger manager a go with the geriatric to speak to. Not just any old no mark though. Though obviously that's only because as much as I want Milne out, that's not happening any time soon. -
Pay as you play couldn't be a bad deal in any way. If he's in the team we'll be harder to beat. If he's not in the team then he'll be in the position of 'good to have about the place' and should become club captain immediately. I seem to remember feeling like players used to have someone in the dressing room making them give a fuck. Also in that case, I assume (if I ever see a quote* from the club saying we will sign him) this means the budget allows for a new player who could potentially play in every game (smith and mcnamee eg), and considerably influence the garbage on the pitch. *The coverage of AFC - EE being the main culprit - adds exponentially to the horror of life as an aberdeen fan. Constantly putting out articles (or article previews. fuck the paywall) with no quotes is just a means to spread unconstructive rumour, put out misinformation and give plausible deniability to the people running the club. They always have an excuse to trott out.

Anyone speak French?

I heard that is the line der hun are thinking about taking. Whole thing sounds ridiculous. I always thought the 'development' label was just a cover all to stop clubs being screwed over. Surely 'signing for the first team' at age 18 is just another form of the same thing - development
-
Another shit thing, he's a natural in the very position they converted Naismith to play! Aluko could be the best player in this league if he finds motivation - mostly because the league has lost almost all it's good players since he was 18. So we HAVE to take every single penny. If not I think supporting the club financially with the current people running it might actually be more harmful than just the issues of current facilities/squad.
-
And since Aluko patently has no problem with playing in the SPL, the natural solution is to come to Aberdeen, plug the gap we have on the left, set up a few goals, leave on a free in 2 (?) years time. Simple eh?
-
over the piece he was a great player for us who could've gone on to be great and I'll be gutted if he signs for the hun. When the board decided to instantly destroy anything the team had going for it he lost interest, but if thousands of people who call themselves fans can't see the point in being there on match days then I can't say I blame him. The biggest issue though is compo. Are we or are we not entitled to 200k if he signs ANYWHERE, or are Scottish sides exempt? If the board bent over for even a penny on this then I genuinely think it would top every single slap in the face/shit decision/disgrace the board have ever been guilty of.

Sunday Herald: Mark McGhee on his Aberdeen experience
maverick sheep replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Totally agree. I think Ifil (despite his feet seeming to be shaped like 50p coins) would have been a good player for us if he hadn't been so exposed. Look at Osbourne and Arnasson for example. Ifil never had players around him like those who came looking for the ball, so instead he had to try long balls. He simply wasn't capable of that, but tackling and bullying forwards, yes. Once his confidence went though he became a bombscare and as he says himself, had to move on. Mcghee used fans' criticism of Ifil to try and make it seem he was on our side, getting things right, and it was all Ifil's fault. I just hope all this hasn't harmed Mcghee's chances of landing the St Johnstone job. Nothing I'd like to see more than that cunt in charge of a different SPL team. If ONLY he'd got the celtic job he wanted so much! -
I'll repeat this now. SIGN A FUCKING RIGHT BACK AND PLAY RYAN JACK IN MID FUCKING FIELD!!!! yaaaaassssssss!!!!!!
