  1. the first two games last season we thrashed hamilton and beat st johnstone. i'll give it time because what option do i have? but it's pretty depressing that i'm getting flack for saying brown's done a shit job so far. naive i know but i expect better from my club and won't excuse ineptitude on the park, in the boardroom or in the dugout.
  2. where did i say he should be sacked? it's ok to criticise player performance but not a manager? that was abject yesterday, and st mirren are also 2 games into a 38 match season. they made us look like a first division outfit yesterday and if brown doesn't deserve criticism for that when i wake up with a horrific hangover then football is dead to me.
  3. last year st mirren were 1 of 3 teams who kept us in the spl. they are far far better than we are now. the two games this season have been a disgrace. brown is 100 years old and he can't out wit a lemon tactically. useless twat.
  4. In/Out: In Pre match: Crystal Palace or some other shithole probably Match: Somewhere Post Match: Crystal Palace or some other shithole probably Prediction: loss St Mirren look decent.
  5. You lot are Dordogne my head in now!
  6. Good comment. Not sure it's technically the highest order, but the spirit is right. And bonus point for the phrase, "gaybladery". 8/10
  7. I was about to remind you this is where you went after the Ross County cup tie...didn't think you'd remember... It's not too pricey, has benches outside for the sunshine and is in an area surrounded by flats housing fit young students.
  8. i haven't checked back over recent years but looks as though it's only worth gambling if you think someone outside the top 4 favorites are going to finish in 3rd place
  9. might take a few games for the new boys to gel, but with another 2 or 3 players we'll have the best team for a fair while.
  10. fucking shite compared to the preview I did. http://www.beyondthepitch.net/articles/post/index.cfm/2011/07/21/scottish-premier-league-preview/ edit: I'm aware it doesn't mention Smith, McNamee or Vuja!! Feel free to read the better version (and then peruse the other things on my blog) here: http://noiseandcolour.wordpress.com/2011/07/22/aberdeen-fc-spl-201112-season-preview/
  11. Don't know why there's so much focus on retaining loyal squad players as a factor in a manager's ability. Surely players being signed is a better way of judging? no point getting rid if there's no replacement. and sadly, just having respect for the club is a valid reason to keep people for nowadays because it's a rare commodity. just speaking of mackie; about as useful as a dirty nappy in front of goal, but gets stuck in when others couldn't care less. was one of very few people to deserve a place on the pitch in mcghee's first season at least.
  12. The idea of giving anyone a contract extension before a single competitive game is lunacy. Not so bad if there's no signing bonus or wage rise obviously but still taking the piss to think the club are so pathetic that no one needs to prove anything to be given a reward (even if that might be true...)
  13. Robbie Winters?? he better fuckin not be the "flair striker" we've been hearing all about!!!
  14. charlie allan must be on a fair wage. the EE need to drop him and bring in new blood. Would save the paper money and would be easy to find someone who actually did ANYTHING resembling journalism. One of the other sports journos there is an arsehole too but canna mind which one.
  15. Ach he could've said the seagulls' continued presence goes a long way to explain it. Lazy donstalk chat from Jute there. 6/10. Must do better.
  16. The first part presumably that Brown (the young Welsh one) agreed the deal to join, but that it is being confirmed tomorrow, so probably hasn't technically put pen to paper. The second part, most likely this:
  17. probably nick blackman
  18. one of his from yesterday: "CRAIG Brown said that will be hardest game #Dons will get this year, including any against Old Firm. It was a great test."
  19. the 2/1 was bogus. forgot to update that still was 4/1 after i checked yesterday. he won't go. now parliament is away on holiday and one wee police wifey has been landed with the whole investigation while the dodgy chief police, politicians and media all scarper.
  20. not even RedTV?
  21. According to BBC's Laura Kuenssberg, the Tory party have owned up that neil wallis (arrested Friday, ex-deputy ed of NOTW), 'informally' advised Coulson (ex ed NOTW, also arrested), while Coulson worked for David Cameron in the run up to the election. Odds on Cameron to be the next Minister to leave the Cabinet have shortened to 4/1. They were 100/1 a few weeks ago EDIT: now 2/1 with Ladbrokes apparently.
  22. oh whoops. being arrested means she won't be appearing at the select committee to answer questions about illegal payments to the police. funny that... these cunts aren't going to go down. the whole fucking establishment is implicated so all the gears will turn to cover it up. murdoch saves money and fuck all else happens. edit: out on bail and confirmed to appear. would be amazed if she answers anything though. police have totally fucked this investigation.
  23. can't think of a sporting victor ever that was more popular than clarke. good good bloke.
