If there's no way of avoiding playing each other 4 times, then I'd like to at least see something like Argentina do. After everyone has played each other twice there we have an Apertura champion, then a winter break, then after the other set of games we have a Clausura champion. The over all champion, european qualifiers + relegation decided by both sets of points totalled up. That could at least avoid much of the monotony, may also make it more realistic that non-OF teams could challenge for something in the league.
