  1. I'd have 16 teams with the loss in revenue made up from league cup group stages as well as a pre (or early)-season tourny involving the previous season's top 8 in a straight, unseeded knock-out competition. There should be incentive for clubs to earn money rather than have it guaranteed. It's the responsibility of the people running the league to do better at attracting sponsorship to avert financial losses. If they either do nothing, or do what they acknowledge is the least acceptable idea for the fans, they'll drive more fans away and clubs like ours will lose money anyway. Talking about meaningless games is sheer apathy. If people won't turn up to give the club money just because they WANT to donate without needing essentially bribed to head along, then there's no hope no matter what the structure is.
  2. i don't think it was foster's pass. thought it was a through ball. maybe he got caught out of position though. fuck im. If he's only sabotaging them against the tims then he's a fucking shite undercover operative.
  3. lets hope things go slightly better than the last time we had a run of win-win-draw.
  4. poor guy, that's fucking horrible. was it an eduardo? in terms of the team on the pitch though, it does give jack a chance.
  5. the commentator was talking out his arse. we looked anything but strong and solid. we were as leaky and wasteful as ever, hamilton are just not good enough to punish us. the 'awkward' challenge in the first half was in the midst of craig thompson penalising us for breathing in the vicinity of any accies player. that challenge in particular, the hamilton boy was holding onto ifil, tripping him and eventually fell because he tried to sweep ifil's legs away...but the freekick went their way! the pen was just not a pen. wee accies player ran into ifil's path and fell over. thompson was an utter disgrace on wed though. topped off by giving 2 mins stoppage time after 5 subs and constant time wasting. but oh we better not actually tell the truth about refs or they'll go away home crying to mammy.
  6. "potentially a future prospect"? Does this mean we don't need a left back who can definately do a job for this season? Or do we suddenly have wages to spend on squad players AND new 1st team signings? puzzled. Sounds like the boy could be a good enough player if blackburn looked at him. Not sure why he'd be dumped by orient in that case though.
  7. That's what over 1,000 people simultaneously cumming in their pants looks like.
  8. The death of wikileaks - http://cryptome.org/0003/wikileaks-rip.htm also...

  10. maybe so. Booth certainly knows more about it than me anyway. He usually does ok holding it up so not too worried. I don't think he's a great player but he's gone up in my estimation in the last couple games. Nice to feel that there's someone who will take a chance if they get it.
  11. Don't remember that. Bit shocked also! I'd be less inclined to keep him then, but I'd still be surprised if he was on anything close to what zander, clangers, aluko are on. All things being equal though, I'd punt others ahead of him. But I don't think we currently have anyone good enough to be automatic first choice in any defensive positions.
  12. Agreed. Vernon played some excellent passes from the middle, through the defence for Bebo, Aluko, Folly etc down the flank. Onlt thing I'd have faulted him on is not getting onto the end of crosses sharp enough.
  13. fucking pathetic that people can't wait to slag ifil when he has a bad game, but today he did well and even passed well enough, while McArdle was absolutely horrific - passing the ball to the opposition every time. Yet no one mentions either of those. over all, the performance was much as it has been before. possibly slightly better. a good team would have put a goal or two past us early in each half, but at least there are positives. Vernon, Maguire and Clangers were good. Ifil and zander competant. Jack looked useful coming on in CM, folly out of position looked decent. consi was ok. aluko was the difference. the only thing it confirms for me is that no matter what we do this year, hamilton are finishing bottom.
  14. Looking at the goal difference, we don't just need to beat them, we need to fuckin leather them!
  15. The situation at present is that Hamilton are so bad we're not going to be relegated. I'd happliy play shite and finish 11th while seeming to be building for the future. A couple weeks ago there was virtual unanimity that we needed a complete overhaul in every aspect of the club's running. Nothing since then has happened other than very short term fixes to long term problems. I hope it's not that an improvement towards temporary mediocrity in the league combined with a day out at hampden is going to be enough to appease people this year. If so, when we're up to our necks in shit again next year or the year after people really can't have the cheek to be outraged by it. Certainly I'm enjoying the long over due win, but I'm not convinced we played that much better than them, if at all. And as a club, I think we have far more problems financially and logistically than hibs do.
  16. sounds like big awesome men's men...or sunni females.
  17. Damascus is one of the places I wanna go most of all. Not sure what is in the rest of the country tho.
  18. GET ON WITH IT THEN!!!!
  19. In the short term, on the pitch, possibly. But they do have a better stadium and sound financial footing, so I certainly don't think we have any reason to say we're in less trouble than the hiv. Cracking result over all. Not sure if it's better or worse than the 4-2 but I get the impression the players may pull their socks up for craigy broon. A rare good day. Would be great to kick on and have some consistancy for the first time in...20 years?
  20. well done folly! he'll become a very good spl player i reckon.

  22. So much of this project is fantasy anyway that I'm surprised no one has said we'll solve the transport nightmare by flying to the ground in our individual jet-packs. Landing on the oversized helipad in front of our magical supporters bar to be greeted by beautiful models handing out complimentary pints and macaroni pies, before all being teleported to our choice of padded reclining chairs for those who want to sit, or bouncy castle terracing for those who want safe standing.
