  1. I know AFC have made a few gaffs down the years with this exact same error of judgment regarding a player's physicality but who in the name of holy fuck makes the decision to let such young players go for such a flimsy reason? Other than certain clobberers, football in general (and ESPECIALLY in unders) is about skill, motivation and awareness - attributes that depend more on a kid's mentality than physicality. Even fitness is more about the willingness to train properly than natural physicality. How physically big or strong a 17 year old kid is has next to nothing to do with how he'll develop as a footballer in the years to come. What pisses me off more than letting him go because whoever it was is a gormless dickhead is that Peterborough picked him up after 2 or 3 seasons playing at Cove. Fucking Cove?? What do our scouts do if they can't even notice talent in Cove? We'd be creaming over our midfield with a 22 y/o local boy who's of quality enough to be playing championship and U-21!! Perfect balance between the old boy and the youngsters coming through, or at least a nice transfer fee. I suppose I'm just crying over spilled milk but this kind of short-sightedness is unforgivable imo.
  2. Agreed. Especially because of the lack of English players to take the heat off him in the media/public opinion. There'd be no 'greatest player never to win a slam' it would just be 'arsehole/loser/bottler/jock cunt'
  3. Wawrinka was immense. Some people play better when they feel a minor injury and that seemed to be what turned it round for him. Murray needs a fucking therapist because he's too old to still be acting like such a brat at the moments when the Federers and Nadals know it's time to screw the nut and put on the poker face. Sadly I get the feeling he (his mum) won't let anyone other than yes men around him. He needs someone there to tell him plain and simple he fucked it. No one else. Just him.
  4. Are we not running a sweep on what city/country/continent MBT has fled to by now?? I'm saying Portugal and going by the assumed name Pedro.
  5. I didn't know Serbia, Montenegro or Bulgaria needed work permits for UK, but since they do I can't see how the lad can possibly qualify for a permit with no international appearances. Basey must be total mince if no one has snapped him up while we spend weeks pissing into the wind rather than sign him and I can't believe he hasn't just told us to go fuck ourselves by now.
  6. I don't see how those are out of context. That's a fair reflection of much of the immediate messageboard reaction. I don't however think it's of much journalistic merit to print knee-jerk reactions of some keyboard hardnuts as if they mean anything in the real world. I similarly don't want to see foster play for us again but it's for the same reason I haven't wanted to see him play for us for years. He's gash.
  7. I thought he was left back but could be wrong. So are they releasing him from his contract so we can sign him for free out with the transfer window then?
  8. Some new managers like to have a firesale of players, at Huntly though I guess it will be more of a car boot sale.
  9. One defender and striker, plus Smith for a bit too (none been getting a game) out, one defender and striker in. That's not exactly making the squad more uneven. We can keep at least 3 out of the 4 for the start of next season or get rid if we choose. I don't see how that makes bad buisiness. Whether or not it improves the team we'll find out in time but I think it looks better, if only on paper. Now for a last minute Attacking midfield and right back! And another striker maybe
  10. How long's Foster got on his contract? Assuming it isn't up at the end of the season, he'd possibly come back a better player or at least a more sale-able asset. Since Macguire/Paton are clearly not going to get a chance in their right position, I wouldn't mind this going through. Before the huns left Velicka to rot in the reserves I thought he looked better up front than the ones we're playing there now. Other than the 1st half of last season Foster has been shocking for us so as long as we get in another full back today it seems more or less positive to me.
  11. No expense....spent.
  12. I can see us getting something against well but I went for 1 point because without creativity in the central midfield I don't see us beating any of those three.
  13. Shitting through the eye of a needle tonight. If ok tomoro going to watch the Rhinos v Warrington then either piss up or quiet one. Sunday I'm being roped into some lifting, carrying and over all putting stuff places. Oh and look for a job. Keep forgetting that part.
  14. Maybe the extra money he would have cost over Basey was deemed worth it untill Fyvie got crocked, making it likely we'll need to take the cheaper option (if Basey actually IS an option) and strengthen midfield in the next couple days or else keep the money til January.
  15. So the only representation of Scotland in Europe will be the huns return to Manchester, via turkey and spain. Excellent news. LOL at Scottish fitba
  16. 6 weeks
  17. Got to say I don't understand why the fine/punishment is more about justice in terms of the 'accidental' criminal, rather than based on what the victim is due. If I had... ...I'd be expecting it to cost me a fuckload more than 25k to even begingetting my life back. Even if the hibee had been on the dole the boy should've got more, but the cunt's a millionaire!! That is the biggest case of adding insult to injury I ever saw.
  18. How can people say it's close (enough) to a grass surface if you need to wear different footwear to play on the fucking thing?? That's just bullshit. Saying also, Pawlett got injured in the warm up - again for no other reason than the surface! I don't imagine it's anything so serious but for the sake of argument, if a young prospect gets a career ending/destroying injury from a tackle, the club can sue the player (or player's club maybe). But if the injury comes from the turf then who's culpable? would they call it self-inflicted? It's diabolical and if anyone is seriously injured by a surface, the people who approve its use (SFA, UEFA) should be paying out a hefty compensation.
  19. I agree.
  20. Diamond looked a wee bit fucked. Fyvie looked more than a wee bit.
  21. The Book of Disquiet by Fernando Pessoa. Is good. Very good in places. Not a quick read though.
