  1. Fyvie playing 30 mins one week, 70 the next is fine for me at his age. I'd hate to see him get injured or burn out from working too hard too young. But having said that, he's a much better player than mcarthy who played a lot of games that age, so I'm I do like to see him on the pitch any time and feel more confident about us going forwards. I went for Ifil because I think he's potentially our best defender. His game is vastly improved with Hartly and Folly deep in midfield who can take the simple pass then do something skillful. Last season he had no one in front of him who could help him out. As well as Folly I thought Aluko did really well. I missed Hamilton so it's the best I've seen him play myself, probably since the season before last. If our 1st choice players all hit form at the same time, we have a as good a side as anyone.
  2. I think that must be how they do it because the date of purchase is all that matters surely? turning up to the games after you legitimately bought the ticket aren't strictly a financial transaction, so they don't really have the right to say money they took upfront is made invalid by any change in circumstances.
  3. The thing about an unused season ticket is a red herring. You buy a season ticket and it means you've bought a seat for the season, just like someone shelling out for a box for the season, it is yours, if you don't use it a particular week then you're entitled to let other people use it on your behalf. That's not the same as paying student prices when you're not a student, but I think the club probably make more than they lose through people using the 'Tyrant Money Saver Policy'. Personally, I'll probably pay full whack for home games, scam student tickets for whatever away games I can and happily make use of any unused season ticket But I would definately go to more games than I do if full prices weren't so high.
  4. Newcastle beat villa 6-0? Fuckin hell!
  5. Certainly seems like a void that's been there since Anderson left is being filled! Not sure he'll be liking the "used to be gay but now he's ok" though
  6. Funny, I didn't even notice anyone with pink hair and winklepickers. I'd like to know who the guy is that kept saying I was worse than funster! I naturally take that as a compliment
  7. Go to a fucking game you part time yankee dobbers!
  8. Ifil did well. More or less the same as this time last year, before his confidence went to fuck.
  9. Think Bebo will break through properly this season. Wouldn't be surprised if Paton also got a few, depending on where both of them actually play. On the wings all year they'd get hee haw.
  10. the pedantry here would make fatjim proud! Same spot of the pitch relative to the bloody goal we were attacking
  11. Meant three of them were booted from the exact same spot on the pitch
  12. I also like the consistency aspect. All goals struck from within a few feet of each other. That's clinical!
  13. I agree with the sentiment but now that i've finished uni it's not a pleasent prospect to pay double the money. If they gave out more discounts to the general public (unemployed, less than 20,000 a year, public sector etc) they'd take more money I think. I do also think that current and future private practice GPs etc should pay a massive price hike to cover any shortfall
  14. Since Kaiserslautern are giants of world football I suppose I`m a dick for logging in after a couple days wondering how we did and giving up reading the thread beyond `positives in a 2-0 defeat`. Fuck that.
  15. It might have been said elsewhere but this is not a great signing unless either Hartley plays well for at least a season and the rest of the team are decent enough not simply to undo any good work Hartley does. OR his being there attracts better players/encourages the current players to up their game. Money dictates the signing better players is out the window, and I worry that paying Hartley's wages (and letting younger players like Williams pass by) also dictates that the rest of the team will be shit enough to undermine Hartley's ability. As for up-ing their game - if they couldn't up it when facing relegation then I doubt the ones left from last season are capable of playing any better anyway and as I said before, the rest we've signed (maybe other than folly) sound absofuckinglutely gash. Time will tell. But aye, fair choice for captain by default.
  16. last wee bit of Kow's post.
  17. I saw this result come in in an irish bar. Life is good.
  18. Couldn't care less about Hendrie but seems like potentially the only significant signing for anything other than the very short term would have been Williams. If true then we've basically spunked all our money on a bunch of nobodies and a 33 year old. Joy. edit - dont know wtf went wrong there but i can't be arsed fixing it
  19. was he not released at the start of the year?
  20. Thought the same but maybe Motherwell or hibs too.
  21. I'd be surprised if we signed either of them.
  22. job done.
  23. So what's the story regarding Duns and Hibs?
  24. Can't shake the feeling we could get two players (Folly & Ahmed?) For the same wages as Hendrie will take and I can't see Hendrie playing more than half the games. Without him what do we pick our central midfield from? Fyvie, Young, Grimmer? Hmmm
