But if we could get him it'd be because he's somewhat damaged goods. A young prospect isn't and would be more unlikely to look at us as a good career move imo. As for giving up. It's not like what I said is a revelation. We can't sign quality so instead of giving up we need to take players who aren't of a standard we'd like them to be (Ifil) and hope we can turn them into good enough players for our needs. The idea we could sign some rising star is completely out of date. A prospect would be better served sitting in the hun/tim reserves on better money until 21 years of age then fucking off to england. I know he's had a bad season but considering foster, probably our best player this season, has been our bomb scare for the last 5 or 6 years, I'd be happy to keep Ifil and give him a chance. He can tackle and can be a rock which can't be said of anyone else in the team. If his passing can't be improved this season then he goes. Hopefully Considine and Diamond will both be fit, McArdle will be decent and so it's not a risk to give the guy a chance. I doubt even Russell anderson would have looked good in the team this season or last. We need a midfield that can protect the defence because, let's face it, spl standard centre backs are not going to be good enough to get by without that protection.

I do think what you're saying describe's Ifil in the 2nd half of the season but generally I think he was an assent until the 1st game away at st mirren (excluding the gash performance at the tattiedome). He never had the passing ability but his tackling was better than the rest and his heading wasn't worse than the rest. I'm planning to dissapear off for as long as my money lasts and just meet new folk along the way who either are local or travellers who are worth hangin out with for a short while before I get sick of em and go somewhere else. Can't be fucked with australia so at the moment i'm most likely going to do north america for the ease of language and number of cheap places for travellers to crash. really want to see prague and talinn but nae sure they'd be suitable unless going with people?
